Chapter 40 - INTO FAE LANDS

"The forest watched us like it remembered a different age, one where shadows ruled and sea kings did not bow. And now, with every step, I reminded it: I hadn't come to bend, I came to reclaim what was mine."

The sea kissed the edge of the Fae lands like it was afraid. It barely lapped at the docks beneath the looming shadow of Thalassorath, our ship groaning as it anchored itself to land that had no welcome for us. Beside me, Tharion crossed his arms, dark eyes scanning the stunned faces onshore.

The moment our hull breached the dock's edge, the guards stationed there went deathly still. One man dropped his spear. Another stammered something before turning and sprinting inland. The rest followed, fear etched into their postures like children spotting a sea monster.

Tharion's low chuckle rumbled beside me. "They remember the last time the sea came calling."

I smirked. "Good. Let them remember."
