Chapter 9 - :Lord Doomsday

Inside the USA Player Organization building, a white-haired man stood at the window, looking at their now desolated city. A lot had changed in recent weeks.

"Mr. Brown," said a male figure, surprisingly finding the office open as he walked in. "The players are here, at least level 30 as requested," said the male.

Mr. Brown turned around with a jovial smile and a scar on his left eye. "Eliot, do you think we'd stand a chance against the boss?" asked Mr. Brown.

Eliot didn't know what to say. He stuttered and cleared his throat. "Well, we already have three players past level 30, so maybe we could have a chance."

"You think? Just three players against the man behind Earth's fall? What if Aizen was right? What if he's terrifying?"

"Because Aizen is obviously a coward."

As if replying to Mr. Brown, a man answered. He had a ponytail hairstyle, a red coat, and two swords at the left side of his waist.

"Mr. Julius, please pardon the lateness. Mr. Brown was already on his way," Eliot quickly apologized, but it seemed Julius took the situation lightheartedly with a smile.

He was much younger than Mr. Brown, and Julius' smile was more contagious than Mr. Brown's as well.

"I know what you're thinking—if this could possibly be a suicide mission for us—but Mr. Brown, you should know we volunteered," said Julius.

Accompanying his words, a female adorned in golden armor fitting to her body and a muscular man walked inside the room.

It seemed the mountain had come to Mr. Brown instead.

"It's just one man. We're three... the strongest in the whole of the United States," said the muscular man.

"Uh, sorry. There are other players identified to have surpassed your levels, but we were unable to locate them, and they didn't come out," said Eliot.

The way the muscular man looked at him made him stagger backward. Maybe keeping his information to himself would be a good thing now.

"We should get started. What's our plan in raiding the Red Gate?" asked Julius.

Mr. Brown kept quiet. He stared at all three of them, and they gave a nod, meaning whatever happened would be their responsibility.

"We can—"

Before Julius could say anything else, screams began filling the area. They quickly stood up, looking outside.

Civilians were running for their lives, and an oversized red wormhole materialized on top of the city.

"What is that thing?"

---

[Ding!]

[Alert: A Red Gate Has Appeared]

[Alert: The Final Boss (Doomsday) has entered the tutorial at Sector 34]

---

The notification was worldwide. Every player was notified by the system, including the ones who still decided to live a normal life.

"Tutorial? What does it mean by—"

Once again, Julius was cut short of words by Eliot, who stuttered, saying something was coming out of the red gate.

It was Aiden. He made himself float down the red wormhole—quite an entrance that scared the shit out of everyone.

As Aiden was floating down, his eyes behind the mask glowing a black-red aura, he saw the three players walking out of the building.

---

[Identifying Threats.....!!!]

[Name: Julius LV 40: Talent: Magus Fire Monarch LV 33]

[Name: Goliath LV 38: Talent: Beast Monarch LV 39]

[Name: Sally LV 39: Talent: Frosted Ice Queen LV 40]

---

Aiden carefully accessed the system. It all made sense to him how these people were able to reach these levels.

They must have been the first to eat from the mutated apple tree, which would give them higher odds of getting a good talent—and they did.

Aiden was now almost down on his feet, his hands crossed behind him, and then Goliath stepped forth.

"Are you Doomsday?" he growled.

However, Aiden didn't reply, and then boom—Goliath stormed at Aiden at a very fast speed and caught him tight, crashing them into a far building.

The movement was screened through a camera, but even that couldn't keep up with the speed.

Those watching were already happy they landed the first blow. However, as the dust settled—

"What the hell!" Julius yelled a bit.

Right in front of everyone's eyes, Aiden had held Goliath at the throat, almost squeezing the life out of the oversized man trying to reach for Aiden's mask.

"He needs help," said Sally.

Accompanying her words, Julius brought out his blade and began running toward Aiden, so Aiden had to let go of Goliath.

But the moment he had done that... "Fucking fool," Goliath growled and attempted to grab hold of Aiden again.

The ground beneath their feet quaked, creating a deep crater, as Aiden had squatted and connected his foot against Goliath's gut.

Kweuk'

Sending Goliath scraping across the sky building, causing glass to fall down like rain.

Not giving Aiden a moment to gain his balance—"Hey, you!" Julius yelled, veins popping from his head and neck.

As he slashed his blade—bam'—Aiden repelled it with the dagger that materialized in his palm, causing small flame sparks.

And the buildings surrounding them demolished within seconds. The civilians still looming around began scattering about like ants.

"Damn, you're strong," Julius commented, his blade starting to engulf in purple flames. "But he's stronger."

Immediately after Julius said that, he leaped backward—and holy shit—

Goliath had used his talent completely, turning into a big humanoid white wolf with claws and fangs, charging toward Aiden.

"Grrhaaaa!" Goliath yelled.

As Aiden planned on dodging, his feet were stuck by the ice conjured by Sally.

"You're over," Goliath muttered.

And bam', the only thing Aiden could do was block the tremendous punch with arms crossed. The blow was so strong that it sent Aiden hitting the floor.

Bam'

Bouncing back up and hitting the floor again, before slamming himself against a building.

"This is so gonna be easy," said Julius.

As the dust cleared, Aiden was actually laughing menacingly.

"System," Aiden muttered, perplexed. The players wondered what Aiden was saying.

"Give them their talents at level max."

---

[Ding]

[Player: Julius Maxed Out (successful: all skills and talents are at LV 105)]

[Player: Goliath Maxed Out (successful: all skills and talents are at LV 105)]

[Player: Sally Maxed Out (successful: all skills and talents are at LV 105)]

---

The players couldn't believe what was going on. They could feel an ocean of power running through them, and the notification proved them right.

"He maxed us out?" Perplexed, Julius muttered, looking at his teammates. What did doomsday do that for?

Max them out then break them just to prove they mean nothing even at their highest point of powers. This would indeed be terrifying.
