Chapter 178 - Chapter 178

Kaido struggled to get up after hearing the voice calling him.

But with his right arm missing, it was difficult to support himself.

Gripping the place where his arm once was, an overwhelming fury welled up in Kaido's heart.

Unconsciously, his Haki burst out.

In an instant, waves of black lightning crackled outward.

No one in the entire hospital was spared. Every person—doctors, nurses, and hidden spies sent by Morgans—collapsed to the floor, eyes rolling back, completely unconscious.

After venting his rage, Kaido ripped out the IV lines, threw on his original clothes, and kicked the door open.

Boom!

The noise echoed, but the building remained eerily silent with bodies strewn everywhere.

Kaido didn't care. He stomped out, heading straight for Charlotte Linlin.

As for his injuries, they had long healed due to his extraordinary vitality.

His body was unbelievably resilient. Though his arm was permanently gone, his flesh wounds had mended with enough rest.

Still, deep scars remained—permanent reminders like the dual gashes Oden once left on his chest.

"Charlotte Linlin! Where are you?!"

Kaido's thunderous roar exploded through the air like rolling storm clouds.

The resulting shockwave of Conqueror's Haki knocked out dozens more outside the hospital.

Onlookers who had rushed over to help suddenly cried out, clutching their heads as the pain forced them to their knees.

Just then, a flash of movement streaked past them.

With a single leap, the figure landed on the third floor.

His fist glowed with Armament Haki before it punched through the concrete wall.

Boom!—a massive hole tore open.

The figure stepped through it effortlessly.

"It's Lord Katakuri!"

"Katakuri-sama's here to save us!"

The crowd erupted in relieved cheers as others dragged the unconscious into the shade.

Inside, Katakuri appeared composed, but beads of sweat formed on his forehead.

He was well aware of the danger. Kaido was a Yonko, just like his mother.

A monster with a bounty of over 4 billion Beli.

Katakuri kept his guard up as he approached.

"Kaido, I'll take you to see Mother now," he said calmly.

"Why are you here? Where's Linlin? I want to see her myself!"

Kaido growled, and his aura surged like a beast unleashed.

Sand and pebbles scattered, the building shook, and the ground cracked beneath his rage.

Katakuri frowned, catching several people flung by the Haki blast.

"I'll wait right here. Tell her to come see me. Now."

Kaido sat down, shouting with fury.

Katakuri gritted his teeth but remained silent.

He couldn't challenge Kaido—not in raw power.

Though he possessed an awakened Devil Fruit and even Future Sight through Observation Haki,

Kaido's sheer dominance was overwhelming.

Katakuri could only endure the humiliation.

Just then, a voice called from the stairway:

"Kaido, I didn't expect you to be up already—even after losing an arm."

Charlotte Linlin had arrived.

The two old allies stared at each other in silence for a moment.

Then she finally broke it:

"Looks like you've fallen on hard times. Who the hell chopped off your hand?"

Kaido's face darkened instantly.

"Enough. I don't want to talk about it. I'm not staying here. Take me to your place."

Without waiting, he strode toward her.

Charlotte Linlin's eyes flickered. She said nothing and led him to the headquarters on Whole Cake Island.

———

Meanwhile, on a different part of the island, a group of strangers in bizarre attire disembarked.

They glanced around, exchanged brief glances, and vanished in a flash—

using the Navy's Rokushiki technique to spread out and infiltrate different corners of Whole Cake Island.

———

Inside the main building of Whole Cake Chateau,

Kaido and Charlotte Linlin sat in a private room.

Outside the door, her children stood silently, waiting.

She tossed him a massive jug of wine.

Kaido caught it, gulped it down in one long swig.

But with only one arm, he couldn't even wipe his mouth properly.

"Ambushed by the Navy?" Linlin asked with a sly smile.

"Or was it the World Government who did this to you?"

Kaido didn't answer. He found another jug, popped it open, and drank again.

After several bottles, he was visibly tipsy.

His voice finally growled out:

"My arm… was chopped off by that bastard Kairos Flint."

His face twisted in hatred. As much as he loathed admitting it, it was the truth.

Charlotte Linlin's eyes shot wide open in disbelief.

As a fellow Yonko, she knew Kaido's strength—

even with all her power, she doubted she could cut off his arm.

The fact that Kairos Flint could do this… meant his strength surpassed them both.

But instead of fear, excitement danced in her eyes.

Her future husband… was truly extraordinary.

To wound Kaido like that—how powerful must he be?

Only such a man, unparalleled in this world, deserved to become her partner.

And if he was that strong in battle, just imagine what he'd be like in bed…

Charlotte Linlin chuckled to herself, lost in fantasy.

A bizarre, almost grotesque smile stretched across her massive face.

Kaido, watching her strange expression from across the room, couldn't help but frown.
