Chapter 20 - Judgment of Light! Descend!

"Meow…!"

It was Bastet's voice. Chen Yue immediately looked in that direction.

Mu Li'er and Hans, standing on the opposite side of the field, were also shaken by the cry.

Suspended midair like a glowing orb, Bastet was now rapidly shrinking.

Countless strands of golden energy surged into Bastet's body — it was divine power.

As the sacred power surged through its body, Bastet began to undergo a rapid transformation.

First was its size: from a small kitten to a full-grown cat.

Its fur remained snow-white and silky as ever, now bathed in a soft golden glow.

The halo at the tip of its tail expanded rapidly, shining like a torch.

Just as Chen Yue thought the transformation was over, an enormous amount of light energy suddenly converged behind Bastet.

In an instant, wings of light formed from the pure energy were born.

Looking at Bastet now, it exuded an air of nobility and majesty — along with an unmistakable aura of sacred inviolability.

Chen Yue activated the Eye of Truth, and Bastet's latest status panel appeared:

At this moment, Chen Yue was overwhelmed with joy.

"One, two, three… five skills in total! And not just that — Bastet's potential has officially reached Mythical level! Hahaha! Who else? I ask you, who else?!"

Chen Yue wanted nothing more than to laugh wildly — this, he felt, was his true rise.

Bastet gently floated down to Chen Yue and nuzzled his face affectionately.

Chen Yue stroked its now even smoother fur and whispered, "Good job, Bastet."

Bastet shook its head lightly, as if to say it was no trouble.

But when it turned back around, its expression shifted from gentle to sacred and dignified — untouchable.

That divine aura made even Hans and Mu Li'er, who had been frozen in shock, feel a chill in their hearts.

The thick black energy surrounding them began to dissipate, growing visibly thinner.

"Die!"

With a single command from Chen Yue, Bastet launched its strongest attack.

Golden particles of light burst forth and quickly gathered in front of it.

In an instant, a long, sharp sword of holy light materialized in midair.

"Judgment of Light! Descend!"

Chen Yue repeated, but this time, his tone was icy cold and without mercy.

"Ah! I won't accept this! Mu Li'er, release the Death Fog!"

Desperate, Hans made one last attempt to resist, commanding Mu Li'er to strike.

Black mist surged again, this time forming into a massive beast-like claw.

The claw, sharp and ominous, lashed toward the holy sword of light.

Boom!

The two ultimate attacks collided violently. Smoke and dust filled the air as Mu Li'er's Death Fog actually managed to block Bastet's Judgment of Light — for a moment.

Just when Hans thought there was still hope, the black claw shattered.

The Judgment of Light pressed on, sweeping toward Hans and Mu Li'er.

In a flash, golden light exploded, so bright that Chen Yue had to shield his eyes.

"Ahhh!"

All he heard was Hans's scream before the Judgment of Light utterly obliterated both man and beast, leaving not even ashes behind.

When the light finally faded, Chen Yue opened his eyes to a devastated battlefield and couldn't help but click his tongue.

"This move is way too powerful… I'll have to save it for critical moments."

Bastet slowly landed beside Chen Yue, and the Garuda, which had been flying overhead, also returned to his side.

Looking at his two beasts, Chen Yue finally exhaled deeply.

"Let's go home."

He first recalled Garuda into its resting space, then gently picked up Bastet.

Notably, Bastet had voluntarily retracted its wings of light.

They transformed into two light-patterned marks on its back — less eye-catching and more suited to Chen Yue's low-profile style.

Thankfully, Bastet was smart enough that Chen Yue didn't even need to say anything.

After confirming there were no further dangers, Chen Yue took out a teleportation device, activated it, and vanished in a flash of light.

All that remained was the ruined battlefield, and a breeze that scattered the ashes into the wind.

Moments later, a ripple appeared in the sky.

Out of the previously empty air emerged a figure.

Dressed in a black cloak, standing atop a massive, crow-like beast — it was the mysterious man who had given Hans the black pill.

A raspy voice echoed through the void.

"The formula is correct, the experiment was a success. Just… the test subject was a bit weak. Next time, I'll pick someone stronger. The college entrance exam might be a good opportunity."

He muttered to himself in the sky for a while before preparing to leave.

But just before disappearing, he glanced toward the spot where Chen Yue had vanished.

"That kid… might make a fine test subject."

With that final line, the man vanished into the sky.

Chen Yue had no idea what happened after he left the secret realm.

He rushed straight to the Yun Yun Merchant Store.

His plan: sell off some of the unused treasures from his storage ring, and maybe restock a few supplies.

As for whether to keep the ring, he planned to ask Yun Xiaohai first — who knew if any powerful clans had marked it for tracking?

If the Han family discovered he'd killed one of their own, it could mean endless trouble.

For the safety of himself and his family, Chen Yue had to be cautious.

He laid out the items he didn't need for Yun Xiaohai to appraise.

Seeing this, Yun Xiaohai instantly guessed Chen Yue must have entered the secret realm — and ignored his warning.

"Sigh, I knew you'd go. But seeing you return safely is a relief."

Knowing Chen Yue made his own decisions, Yun Xiaohai didn't nag further.

He waved it off and began evaluating the items.

"Hmm, all low-tier stuff… but there's quite a lot of it."

After a rough estimate, Yun Xiaohai offered 30,000 credits. Chen Yue accepted without haggling.

Chen Yue then took off the ring and asked,

"Boss Yun, do you think it's safe for me to use this ring? Any tracking functions?"

Yun Xiaohai inspected it carefully before replying,

"Don't worry. It's just an ordinary storage ring — no tracking at all."

Chen Yue sighed in relief — but Yun Xiaohai added,

"Of course, if you're still worried, I can buy it off you. I'll even offer a good price."

Chen Yue laughed and shook his head.

Now that it was confirmed safe, he wasn't about to sell it at a loss.

As for trust — Chen Yue believed in Yun Xiaohai. The man was a bit of a shrewd businessman, but he'd never harm him.

And after these days of interaction, the two had become more familiar.

With business done, Chen Yue got ready to leave.

After saying goodbye, he headed home — after all, he'd been gone for days and needed to reassure his parents he was safe.
