A Long Journey
Liliette refused to back down. The image of Vlad standing against the pitch-black night sky lingered in her mind. His broad, imposing back had looked unbearably lonely, making her heart ache.
“Just like Vladimir, this entire city is simply surviving as it awaits death.”
Vlad was impenetrable. He had forged himself into a fortress of iron, unyielding and flawless—a suffocating stronghold that no one dared breach without earning the privilege. He lived by unforgiving rules, ones that allowed no room for error.
