"Loisa, I missed you! Why don't you come around more often? Staying in the pack is fun," Thema said, dragging her playfully.
"Oh, Thema, I missed you too! Let's sit here and talk," Loisa replied.
They sat down and smiled at each other.
"So, why didn't you invite Alexa?" Thema asked.
"Alexa's out of the country," Loisa answered.
"Oh? What country is that?" Thema asked curiously.
"It's Massachusetts, to be precise," Loisa replied.
"Wow, that's really nice to hear!" Thema said with a grin.
"Yeah, she's there to further her studies," Loisa added.
"I'm so happy for her," Thema gushed, and Loisa smiled.
"Can I ask you a question?" Loisa said.
"Sure, go ahead," Thema replied.
"Okay... what did you call that guy again?" Loisa asked.
"He's an Alpha. I remember telling you the last time we met," Thema said.
"Yeah, I remember you said that, but you didn't tell me everything about it," Loisa said, leaning in curiously.
"Okay, I'll explain everything. But seriously, aren't your parents supposed to tell you all this?" Thema asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, they won't. Even when I ask them, they say I'm too young," Loisa complained.
"Alright, so..." Thema began. "A pack is a place where werewolves live. Alphas are the leaders of these packs, assisted by Betas, then Gammas. Each Alpha leads a different pack, like the Full Moon Pack, the Black Night Pack, the Surreal Pack, and our pack is called the Bright Moon Pack."
She continued, "There's a hierarchy, which goes from the Alpha King, to the Supreme Alpha, then to the Alpha, the Supreme Beta, the Beta, and so on."
"So, who's the Supreme Alpha?" Loisa asked with curiosity.
"The guy you saw earlier—Kim. He's the Supreme Alpha, which means he leads all the packs in a particular region," Thema explained. "We have regions like the Eastern Region and the Western Region."
"So you mean he rules over other Alphas in his region?" Loisa asked, her eyes wide.
"Yes, that's right," Thema confirmed with a nod.
"And it's the same for the Beta?" Loisa asked.
"Exactly. They also have a ranking system like that," Thema replied.
"Okay, so let's continue. The last one in the hierarchy is the Omega," she added.
Loisa nodded, eager to learn more.
"They're the weakest in the pack. They usually clean up the battlefield after fights," Thema said.
"You guys fight?" Loisa asked, clearly confused.
"Yeah, we have a lot of enemies," Thema replied seriously.
"Who are those enemies?" Loisa asked, her tone more serious now.
"The witches, the vampires, the trolls, and the rogues," Thema listed.
"Can you explain that?" Loisa asked, pouting her lips slightly.
"Sure," Thema said. "Witches are magicians. They practice magic and usually live in covens or dark places where humans and other creatures aren't allowed to go."
She continued, "There are two types of witches—good and bad. The good ones are called white witches, and the bad ones are called black witches. The bad ones, sometimes called dark witches, get their powers from dark magic, which is an evil and dangerous source of power."
"Okay, what about the vampires?" Loisa asked.
"Vampires are terrifying, especially when they're in their disfigured form. They feed on blood and can be really cold-hearted," Thema said.
"How do they feed on blood?" Loisa asked inquisitively.
"They feed on human blood, mostly," Thema replied.
"Ugh, that's disgusting!" Loisa said, scrunching her nose in disgust.
"Exactly. That's why they're feared. But if you stay on their good side, they're actually not harmful. In fact, they're kind to people they trust..." Thema's voice trailed off.
