If there was one thing no one warned me about, it was that psychic training didn't slow down once you kissed your mentor.
In fact, everything sped up.
After the joint resonance session with Julian and Elder Liora, I was added to a new initiative called "The Next Wave" — a fancy title that basically meant I was now working alongside a rotating group of Gossamer trainees to run communication drills, refine defense algorithms, and test advanced amplification methods. Also, I now had a badge. A shiny blue one. With my name laser-etched on it. No big deal or anything.
Okay, it was a huge deal.
Kim squealed when I showed it to her. Jake asked if it came with a psychic keyblade. (It did not, but I told him I'd ask.)
Julian and I… well, we hadn't exactly defined anything since the kiss and synchronization. There were a lot of looks. A lot of tiny, electric touches. Shared smirks. Whole conversations passed in glances.
But we were both too busy—or too scared—to press it further.
