Tae-hyun was excited to have found a friend at Jaesung High School. Byung-soo had shown him around, introduced him to new people, and shared some of his own stories. But on the same day, Tae-hyun saw a different side of Byung-soo.
As they walked down the hallway, Byung-soo saw a younger student and started teasing him. He called him names and made fun of his clothes. Tae-hyun felt uncomfortable and didn't know what to do. He didn't want to get involved, but he also didn't want to watch someone get bullied.
"Hey, Byung-soo, let's leave him alone," Tae-hyun said, trying to sound calm.
Byung-soo turned to Tae-hyun and said, "What's wrong, Tae-hyun? Can't handle a little bit of fun?"
Tae-hyun felt anxious. He didn't want to get on Byung-soo's bad side, but he also didn't want to be part of bullying someone.
"I'm just saying, maybe we should focus on our own stuff," Tae-hyun said, trying to reason with Byung-soo.
Byung-soo laughed and clapped Tae-hyun on the back. "You're so uptight, Tae-hyun. I'm just joking around."
But Tae-hyun wasn't convinced. He saw the look in Byung-soo's eyes, and it didn't seem like he was just joking.
As they continued walking, Tae-hyun observed everyone's reaction towards him and Byung-soo. He noticed that people avoided making eye contact with Byung-soo. When Byung-soo tried to introduce him to others, they would just smile and reply politely.
When school was over, Byung-soo tried to stop Tae-hyun from leaving, but he declined the offer and went straight home. On his way, he saw some familiar faces from his class and the basketball team one member.
