Chapter 168 - Chapter 168: Arrival at Black Whale City

Kerry pressed one hand firmly on the commander's wrist, while clenching his other fist tightly and delivering a brutal punch that sent the officer crashing to the floor.

As Kerry struck down the commander, the remaining clerks and soldiers swiftly drew their weapons, aiming them at him.

At that moment, several psychics appeared behind Kerry—one of them suddenly leapt up and unleashed a piercing, ear-splitting scream. The glass resting on the table shattered instantly under the assault.

The soldiers opposite clutched their ears in agony, collapsing onto the floor writhing in pain.

Even Kerry himself winced, covering his ears as the psychic's shrill howl ceased, leaving a persistent ringing in his ears.

Irritated, Kerry gave one soldier's backside a sharp kick. "Damn it, enough with the noise already!"

The sonic psychic, sheepishly apologizing, said, "Sorry, I got carried away—seeing them draw weapons just set me off."

"Try to keep it in check next time."

"Understood, I'll be more careful."

Kerry turned to Louise behind him. "Take control of all the computers in this command center—disable them entirely but don't damage anything, got it?"

Louise raised an eyebrow. "Why not just torch the whole place?"

"We'll need these systems intact for later."

Snapping her fingers, Louise smiled. "Alright, give me a minute."

She settled at a nearby terminal, linking her laptop to the command center's servers. Her fingers danced rapidly over the keyboard, deploying a program into the system.

Within moments, every monitor in the command center was flooded with images of Louise in a provocative swimsuit, shifting through seductive poses that teased and tantalized.

Kerry chuckled at the screens, donned his helmet, and announced, "Alright, mission accomplished. Let's move." He strode from the command center, leaving behind a cluster of soldiers writhing on the floor, clutching their ears in torment.

No sooner had they exited than armed soldiers rushed up the stairs. A captain hurried over to Kerry. "What's the situation upstairs?"

"One of the psychics sabotaged the command center and fled east," Kerry said, nodding toward the eastern exit. "You all better go after them. I'll gather reinforcements—we have to block their escape."

"Right, we can't let them get away. You call for backup, we'll pursue!" The captain rallied his men and dashed off.

Kerry smiled, leading a few psychic envoys back to the small thicket where the burly man was waiting impatiently. The unconscious soldiers were all tied to trees, their mouths stuffed with foul-smelling socks.

The giant grinned upon their return. "No one got hurt, right?"

"Mission accomplished. Let's withdraw." Kerry gathered his discarded clothes from the ground and vaulted over the wall, exiting the military base of Black Whale City. The other psychics followed suit.

Louise turned to Kerry. "What's next?"

"We're heading to the city's main gate to watch the show. Let's see what this Xiao Feng is really capable of. Also, notify Washington to keep an eye on the airport."

"Understood."

The group climbed into Kerry's oversized pickup, changed out of their alliance uniforms, and into their own clothes. Kerry then drove toward Black Whale City's southern gate.

The X Legion finally arrived outside Black Whale City. Artillery units quickly established their positions while Xiao Feng peered through his Black Angel sniper scope, targeting the distant city walls. He saw countless soldiers busily adjusting the heavy weaponry mounted there.

Alliance soldiers were forced to manually operate the artillery; rocket launchers and missile defenses had been completely neutralized. The Mark Team's efforts were invaluable—without wasting a single bullet, they dismantled the city's entire firepower defense system.

The remaining cannons posed little threat—their range was far shorter than that of the X Legion's howitzers. These smaller artillery pieces were no match for the Legion.

Beside Xiao Feng, Ivy appeared, carrying her bloodthirsty sniper rifle. She asked, "Who do we engage?"

"Take out the artillery crews near the cannons—make sure they can't fire."

Ivy nodded firmly. "Got it." She turned to leave.

Xiao Feng frowned. "Aren't you going to challenge me to a little competition?"

Ivy smiled knowingly. "I'm the sniper battalion commander now. I've got troops to lead. Maybe next time."

Xiao Feng was taken aback. "I should be the commander—who's more accurate than me?"

"True enough, but isn't that rank a bit low for you? You ought to be the legion commander…"

Ivy finished and approached an armored vehicle, tapping its side with her rifle stock. "Everyone out! Prepare for combat!"

Soldiers poured out from multiple armored vehicles, swiftly climbing onto their roofs.

"Get on the roofs! Target the artillery crews! Shoot to kill!" Ivy barked, one hand on her hip and the other brandishing her sniper rifle with commanding poise.

The snipers mounted the vehicles, their rifles aimed at the enemy on the walls. Though their sniper rifles lacked the power of Xiao Feng's Black Angel or Ivy's Bloodthirst, these were the longest-range sniper rifles within the Alliance ranks—heavy mechanical weapons capable of reaching the farthest targets.

An extraordinary scene unfolded: over a hundred snipers simultaneously fixed their sights on the enemy atop the city walls.

Xiao Feng was the first to squeeze the trigger of his Black Angel. The thunderous shot marked the beginning of the assault on Black Whale City. His bullet arced gracefully before striking an artillery shell cradled by an Alliance soldier, triggering a massive explosion…
