Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Judgment in the Stars, A Message from Tony

With a searing whoosh, Lin Feng soared into the night sky, the swirling clouds parting violently in his wake. He carried with him the writhing body of the Abomination—its monstrous form limp but seething with hatred even in unconsciousness. The fires of vengeance still flickered in Lin Feng's chest, his fury burning hotter than the Earth's atmosphere as he pierced it at supersonic speed.

The monster that had ravaged Harlem, that had laid waste to blocks of New York, would not find redemption. No prison could hold it. No government could control it. And Lin Feng knew—some monsters weren't meant to be contained.

The stars greeted him as he exited Earth's atmosphere, the planet shrinking behind him like a marble in the vast void of the cosmos. A cruel irony—the cold, unforgiving silence of space would now serve as the Abomination's grave.

The friction of the rapid ascent ignited flames across the Abomination's grotesque skin, blistering and burning as Lin Feng carried him upward. The monstrous brute stirred with a howl of pain, his yellow eyes snapping open as his nerve endings screamed.

"No!" the Abomination roared, his voice muffled by the vacuum beginning to close in.

He thrashed, claws swiping desperately, but Lin Feng's grip was iron. His crimson cape rippled behind him as he ascended further. The Abomination's guttural screams turned to silent gasps as the air thinned and vanished entirely.

Then, in one motion, Lin Feng released him.

The creature tumbled freely through the void, clutching at its neck, its lungs convulsing in a desperate attempt to breathe where no air existed. The weightlessness confused its brutal mind, the sudden loss of gravity disorienting it. The fire of agony was gone—replaced by the biting chill of the void. Icy stardust clung to its hide, and its mind spiraled into panic.

Its wide mouth opened in a silent scream, frozen in terror. Rage, confusion, and the first true fear it had ever known burned in its eyes. For a moment, even its monstrous pride cracked.

If I had known... If I had known that he was truly this strong... I would've run.

But it was too late.

Lin Feng hovered in the distance, red light beginning to shimmer in his eyes.

"Even a creature like this doesn't die easily," he muttered, gaze hardening.

Twin beams of searing heat blazed from his vision, streaking through the blackness and striking the Abomination directly in the chest. The brute convulsed. Smoke drifted off its charred skin, the icy void doing nothing to soften the destructive force of the heat vision.

Then, with one final motion, Lin Feng rocketed forward and struck with a full-force punch. His fist collided with the creature's head, snapping its neck and sending the corpse tumbling through space in a slow, lonely drift toward oblivion.

Silence reigned. Justice had been dealt—not by courtroom or by military, but by a being who had long outgrown the boundaries of Earth.

Floating there in the void, Lin Feng exhaled slowly. The last of his rage evaporated into the stars.

The Earth below twinkled like a sapphire, and he turned toward it with purpose. Time to go home.

With a sonic boom that echoed briefly through the atmosphere, Lin Feng re-entered Earth like a meteorite. The flames parted for him. His cape billowed. Gravity bowed in respect. Compared to him, the Abomination was but a shadow of power.

Though Hulk had transformed back into Bruce Banner and been taken away by General Ross's men, Lin Feng was relieved. There was no cleanup left for him. The situation had resolved itself, and he could move on without further complication.

Sooner or later, he'd meet the green behemoth again—probably during the events of the first Avengers mission, when Odin's adopted son would come crashing down to Earth. But that was still a ways off.

Lin Feng had no intention of tampering with the timeline too heavily. He understood all too well the fragility of fate and the danger of unintended consequences.

After all, not even Superman could wrestle the Butterfly Effect into submission.

He smiled faintly at that thought.

Floating above the cityscape, Lin Feng addressed the stunned crowd below. Fires crackled on broken streets, but the monsters were gone. The nightmare was over—for now.

"Both monsters have been dealt with!" he announced, voice ringing clearly across rooftops and alleyways. "You're safe. Head home. Help will arrive soon."

A roar of cheers rose in the distance as Lin Feng took one last look and shot off into the sky.

The disaster teams would arrive soon. The NYPD would secure the area. SHIELD might even poke their heads in, pretending to have control over something they never truly understood.

None of that mattered now.

High above, out of sight, Lin Feng landed lightly on a rooftop, slipped off his cape, and tapped the activation band on his finger.

With a shimmer of light and a subtle shift, Superman vanished—replaced by the unassuming figure of Lin Feng, the charming, polite young man who could walk among the people without turning heads.

And he had someone to find.

His enhanced senses flared.

His gaze shifted across several blocks, scanning for familiar heartbeats, voices, energy signatures.

There—on a nearby rooftop.

Susan.

She was descending the fire escape slowly, her camera clutched tightly in her hands. A few strands of wind-tousled hair curled across her cheek as she glanced around, clearly searching for someone.

Lin Feng smiled.

Disobedient little reporter. Always chasing the danger instead of running from it.

He moved quickly and silently, stepping into her path just as she was pulling out her phone.

"Hey! Susan!"

She gasped, then beamed.

"Oh! Lin!" she cried, launching into his arms with more emotion than she could hide. "You're okay!"

Her hands ran instinctively over his chest, checking for wounds.

"Are you hurt? I saw that giant green guy slam you into the pavement, and I—"

"I'm fine," he said gently, his hand covering hers. "Takes more than that to break me."

She looked up at him, her eyes wide with concern... and something deeper.

"Lin..." she breathed.

"Hm?"

"I have a cat at home," he said casually. "It does backflips. Want to come see it?"

She blinked. Then her expression shifted into mock suspicion.

"A cat? You don't have a cat. I've been to your place."

"Maybe you just missed it," Lin Feng said with a perfectly innocent look. "Besides, this one only comes out when it wants to do backflips."

Susan squinted. "Lin Feng. I've read the Eastern forums. I know exactly what kind of 'cat' you're talking about."

He coughed, grinning without shame. "Okay, okay—maybe there's no cat. But Tony did say he has a surprise for us, to celebrate our first official date."

Susan folded her arms but couldn't hide her amused smirk.

"A surprise? For our first date?"

Lin Feng nodded dramatically. "It's symbolic. Like fireworks at the beginning of a love story."

She stared at him with that mischievous glint in her eyes, then relented. "Fine, fine. I'll go. But—only because you're being sweet."

He pumped his fist with delight and hugged her tight. "Yes! Let's head back to the villa then?"

"Wait," she said, holding up a finger. "I have to send these photos first."

She lifted her camera, and Lin Feng groaned.

"No way... How long's that going to take?"

Susan laughed. "Relax! I already called my assistant. She'll be here in thirty minutes tops."

Lin Feng sighed in relief. "Okay, that's not too bad."

He glanced around. Most of the businesses were dark. Emergency lights and sirens still lit the streets, and distant helicopters circled above. But a lone coffee shop still had its doors open, windows glowing warmly.

"Let's wait over there," he said, nodding toward it.

---

Inside the coffee shop, they were the only customers. The staff had retreated into the kitchen, and the televisions behind the counter were airing emergency broadcasts.

Susan was on her phone, talking to her editor, recounting the night's chaos while sipping a mocha.

Lin Feng, meanwhile, sat by the window, watching the flashing lights outside with a calm expression.

Ding~

A quiet chime broke the silence, and he pulled his phone from his pocket.

It was a message—from Tony Stark.

He tapped it open.

A high-resolution satellite photo filled the screen.

It was a snapshot of Lin Feng himself—hovering in the vacuum of space, his heat vision blazing, the final blow to the Abomination immortalized in crystal clarity.

Stark Industries' satellite systems had clearly been working overtime.

Lin Feng blinked, a little stunned.

Already? I just got back...

He shook his head with a sigh.

In this age of global surveillance, satellites, and networked cameras, news didn't just travel fast—it flew.

He had no doubt that by morning, this photo—and the entire battle—would be splashed across screens in every intelligence agency, news station, and dark web forum.

The world had witnessed something new tonight.

And they wouldn't soon forget it.
