The Academy of Hamoun.
The fourth-best academy out of the five other academies that existed outside Nox's sector.
This was due to the fact that the resonators from Hamoun's Academy were at best mid-rank; only a few were truly talented.
Compared to the resonators from other academies, Hamoun's was nothing.
This in itself made Damien more confident.
As he remained seated in the visitor's chair, he allowed Radia, who seemed to be friends with the mistress of the academy, to do all the talking.
The mistress, as she was called, looked to be in her 20s. She had long brown hair and wore a stylish hat, resembling that of a pirate.
She was beautiful, though Damien claimed she looked better in the game; the one thing he couldn't object to was her voluptuous body.
Her white shirt was glued to her body, bringing out the shape of her milkshaker, and though he had not seen her legs properly to know what she was wearing, he could still see glimpses of her black nylon thigh highs as she moved her legs under the table.
Suddenly, she turned her gaze to him mid-conversation.
"What are you looking at?"
Damien blinked, immediately looking at Radia, who also seemed to be giving him a judgmental look.
"I wasn't—"
Before Damien could speak, the mistress chimed in, shaking her head.
"Is this the guy you want to admit here, Radia?"
"Yes," Radia responded. "He is a bit of a pervert; you don't need to pay him any attention."
Damien didn't say anything; she wasn't wrong.
With a small sigh leaving her mouth, the mistress reached into her drawer to pull out a student form.
"Are you going to be the one paying for his tuition fee? This is the first time I've seen you walk into my office with a new student and act as their guardian."
Radia replied, fully resting her back on the chair.
"That's because Damien here is different. Aria recommended him herself, so the tuition fee is already out the door."
The mistress halted, taking one more look at Damien.
"Is he a high rank? Is that why the lieutenant is intending on giving him special treatment?"
She sounded almost sarcastic.
No one could blame her; Nox headquarters are the only ones who put so much value on high-ranking resonators.
Radia leaned forward.
"You really think I'll come all the way here for a high rank?"
Sensing the seriousness in her voice, the mistress also leaned forward.
"There's truly something different about this one?"
"He's a special rank."
"What?" The mistress raised a brow. "There's nothing like that."
"That's because the lieutenant just came up with it. Rather than primary colors, Damien turned the F01 rock black. He also claims to be capable of summoning multiple avatars as well."
The mistress was shocked, her eyes darting from Damien to Radia.
She was right; he is different.
The F01 rock has been available since the discovery of resonators, and not once has there been any case of it taking on a black color.
"Now I see why you came with him. If the higher-ups hear of him, they might try to take him from right under us."
As she pushed the student form back into her drawers and sat down properly, Damien watched.
"I guess everyone hates The organization," Damien uttered in his mind.
"Not to mention, the other sectors might come after him as well; as of this moment, he is quite the rare gem." Radia placed one hand on his shoulder.
"Well, I already assume you planned on keeping him hidden while a substitute takes his place in the academy, correct?"
"Yes."
"Alright then, I am sure I can handle that; it should take me a couple of days to get a substitute and all of that. Is there anything else?"
Damien raised his hand.
Both women looked in his direction, their expressions revealing their discomfort with the gesture.
"Is it possible for me to have access to the academy library? I would like to borrow some books."
Before the mistress gave her response, he scanned Radia's face as if silently seeking permission.
"Sure, what exactly are you looking for? I could have my staff get them for you."
Damien replied,
"All books that show studies of Veltox city, politically and militarily, oh, and if I could get one on raptors as well, I'd appreciate it."
Radia simply looked at the mistress; though her face was calm, it was clear she was confused.
She assumed he wanted to know how the city operated since he was not from here; that said, something about the way he asked made her feel uneasy.
The mistress sighed.
"Handsome and weird, what a combo. Fine, I'll get you the studies on that. Would that be all?"
She folded her arms under her boobs, causing them to jiggle slightly.
"Yes, that would be all."
Once they were done at the academy, Damien and Radia headed back to the headquarters.
Although he didn't get a tour around the academy, he still saw a few scenes that gave him a grand idea of what it's about.
Nothing impressive; it was just like any other academy.
Seated inside the car, Damien's face was focused right outside the car window.
Since they had left the academy, Damien had not said a single word to Radia.
While Radia did notice this, she couldn't tell whether to bring it up or not.
Until she could no longer take the boredom anymore.
"You've been quiet since you got to the academy. What's wrong? Not impressed?"
Damien turned his gaze to her.
"Oh? I didn't realize that my being quiet was that obvious."
"Well, I expected you to ask more questions from Amanda. You didn't."
"Here I thought I played it well," he thought.
His decision to avoid a lengthy conversation with her was solely motivated by his desire to avoid being subjected to her analysis.
He would live a better life the more unfamiliar it was. If people comprehended him too much, it could end up being both a burden and a disadvantage.
Consequently, he decided to remain anonymous until he was powerful enough to oppose the organization.
He turned back to face the window and answered,
"I was just tired; have mercy on the introvert."
