As the formation started, Yugong also saw the interior of the cave.
It was very rough, with only some basic furniture such as a table and chairs.
"Is this the outer reception area?"
He saw that there were more rooms behind the start.
Although he wasn't used to having a reception area right at the entrance, he could imagine that most cultivators didn't want their privacy invaded.
Walking past the rough wooden furniture, he saw three doors leading to different rooms.
They had plaques at their top "Meditation Room", "Sword Refining Room" and "Creation Arts Room".
Curious, he skipped the first two and entered the last.
Inside, he didn't see anything special at first glance – just a larger and higher raised table, probably so you can work on things.
Then he saw a small metal plate blocking a circular space on the side of the hall.
Walking over and about to touch it, he suddenly stopped.
The metal handle was extremely hot – even before he touched it, he could see the heat in the air.
Taking a step back, he contemplated for a second before he guessed "Is this the renown earth fire? I didn't think this sword mountain has its own earth fire, and I even have a room connected to it – no need for me to go down the mountain for these things!
Well, even if they are called a sword sect, they definitely have everything one might need.
At least I don't know how many sects of this calibre can give away earth fire caves to every core disciple!"
Although the disciples he saw were few and far between, Yugong thought that there were likely a lot more spread around this mountain.
Most of these are sword cultivators and are unlikely to use it…
Right then, he realised "Could it be that the actual output of the earth fire is low, just enough for those that need it to use it, while those that don't need it will still have access to it, even though theoretically there isn't enough earth fire for them?
Well, it's a fun play to give the illusion that we all have the resources even if that's not the case.
It seems even sects, a sword sect at that, has to use a few tricks to make the disciples attached."
He smiled as he walked out.
The cleverer the sect was, the better he would feel here.
Although the simplicity of some swordsmen might be nice, as an intellectual person, he would rather not spend all his future years just talking to himself.
Yugong left the room and walked to the Sword Refining room.
He was curious what it was about this room that gave it this name.
At first glance, he once again didn't see much.
Considering he is not a cultivator just yet, this is very common.
Though, as he kept looking, he realised why this fully empty room could be called that.
The walls were glimmering slightly with a dark metallic tone.
He approached the walls and tried to feel it.
"It's a lot colder than the normal touch… is the room supposed to be a training room for swordsmen to swing their swords as they like?
Well, I don't know about the defense capabilities… but, considering most disciples who have to stay in the core disciple area are just of the lowest stage, it isn't a bad idea at all.
I do wonder though how strong the walls are and whether even higher ranked cultivators use the same."
He then left the room again. There wasn't any furniture in the room, and he wasn't bored enough to inspect something he's unlikely to use.
In the third room, the Meditation Room, Yugong saw a simple appearance once more.
There was nothing in the room except for a small raised platform with a pillow on it.
"At least it's not a wooden pillow…" he thought about it and simply sat down.
Just as he sat down, he suddenly felt something weird but refreshing.
His mind cooled down and his thoughts varied yet were also restricted, as if only important thoughts were allowed to go further.
Yugong fell into a calming state – he breathed in and out slowly.
As the rhythm became orderly, he slowly regained his consciousness and opened his eyes.
"This pillow… is able to remove distracting thoughts, calm my mind and make me focus on one thing?
The sect is so generous!
This thing must cost a ton! Who would've thought that they even have such an assisting tool!
No wonder they don't worry about their disciples being too young and unable to concentrate.
As long as they sit down on this pillow, they will be able to fully focus on cultivation.
Well, there are more factors and it's likely that the effect is only so strong because I am not a cultivator just yet.
The pillow also only allows u to focus your mind, it does not force you to use it if you don't want to…
In the end, cultivation is still a question of spirit, will and intention.
But, at least, with such tools, it's a lot easier to get started than if one did everything on their own."
Yugong was extremely satisfied with the treatment of the sect.
As for him losing his spirit and intention to cultivate?
That was impossible.
If one has seen the bottom of the world, one will definitely want to rise as much as possible, not feeling secure until you reach the peak.
Although Yugong is not an insecure person who worries about myriad things, he is still somewhat cautious.
The stronger he is, the better he would feel in this world where cultivators can smash mountains with a simple wave of their hand.
Cultivation is a "free" path to such power, especially for him.
He has a mature soul and knows priorities, his spiritual root is extremely high, and most importantly, he already has a certain dao charm.
Although for now this isn't identifiable, at least Yugong knew that he had some understanding of the bow and arrow.
Having read a lot in his past life, he knew that mortals could reach extreme high steps even in the world of cultivation, if their comprehension of a certain thing is superior.
Yugong thought his comprehension might not have reached that height just yet, but it was definitely better than many who just play with weapons but never understand them.
Then, with a bright spirit and deep concentration, Yugong sat on the pillow, letting his mind calm down, preparing to truly cultivate.
