Chapter 6 - What Lies Ahead

Back at Velmont Towers, one of the soldiers goes to report the incident to Luke Morel, the greedy man who owns the Durnium mine.

"Sir,a man in a black coat infiltrated the mine.He took some Durnium with him.",the soldier stood firmly but avoiding eye contact with Morel.

"Did you go after him and retrieve the Durnium?"

"The men who went after him were killed, sir. We are not sure if it was his doing or he had allies."

"Did you retrieve the Durnium though?",Morel's tone grew colder.

Morel had no respect for human life,he merely saw humans as tools that were to be discarded once they turned defective.

"No,sir."

With a sigh of disgust Morel pulled out his gold-plated pocket knife. The soldier's life was to be forfeit.

"He also took a child miner with him.The dogs can track her scent and lead us to him.",The soldier blurted out to save his life.

"Why haven't you done so already? Get to it!",an angry Morel roared."I want that Durnium retrieved."

Morel was riled up,he wanted to kill something or someone. He ruthlessly slit the throat of one of the harlots he was with, the others screamed in terror as they were bathed in her blood.

He called in Dave, his guard,to take care of the mess.

-Velmon city, soldiers's barracks

"Listen up, men!" barked Allen Anderson—the same soldier who narrowly escaped death. "The boss wants an army to retrieve the stolen Durnium. I'll handpick the candidates myself. We leave at dawn. Rest while you can."

"Why do we need to go an army though?"

Gasps.

Anderson walked up to the tiny soldier who just silenced the entire court by questioning authority.

"What's your name,soldier?"

"Colt."

"Because,Colt,we don't know how many they are,what they're capable of.We're soldiers,we don't ask such dumb questions.You are going tomorrow."

Colt didn't expect to be picked and he was the first one,the rest of the Durnium Retrieval team were to be picked at dawn.He was scared for his life.He lay there sleeplessly.

-Velmont towers-a few moments after

Morel headed downstairs. He adored his castle, decorated with portraits of himself, held up by golden frames.Gold chandeliers,a castle worthy for a king.Morel was a self-appointed ruler.

He poured whiskey into a glass,as he was about to down it- slow, loud stomping followed him downstairs.Morel was shaking and sweating bullets. He didn't dare to turn around.

"What's this I hear," came a calm yet thunderous voice, "about unprocessed Durnium leaving Velmont?"

Morel didn't respond. The air behind him grew heavier.

"Summon your friends," the voice continued. "You need to sort this out."

Only once the footsteps faded upstairs did Morel release the breath he'd been holding.

-The other end of Oakreach Woods

"We've been walking for a while now,are you sure you're not tired?"

"No,I can keep going." A panting Zera answered."I just need water."

Castiel offered her his water bottle. He was the kindest and warmest person she'd ever met after her mother.

"Hold on.Cling on to me and protect your eyes and ears. We'll get there faster."

Zera did as Castiel said. She could feel they were now at intense speeds, like a bullet escaping the barrel. It felt like they were flying under the moonlight.

-Nalvakar(The Realm of The Zodiac,Gemini)

A tall, grim looking woman was bawling out her eyeballs. She was too big for a human. Her arms showed smokey tattoos that seemed to be moving. Her face was scarred and bleeding. She looked as though she'd escaped a death battle.

"Those demons will pay."She cried out.She looked at the two thrones in front her, they were the only things visible in the blinding brilliance."I will avenge you,brother... Even if it's the last thing I do."

Her sorrow burned away, replaced by unwavering resolve.
