Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Camelot

"Have you completed your investigation, Lord Agguiwen?"

On the throne, sunlight bathed the mighty armor of the Lion King, making him appear like a divine being.

"Yes, Your Majesty, I have finished it," Agguiwen replied, bowing respectfully and placing his right hand over his left shoulder.

"This land is known as the Douluo Continent. Here, people awaken something called Martial Spirits at the age of six. They grow stronger by hunting creatures known as soul beasts. The highest known soul power level is that of a human from the Spirit Hall—an Extreme Douluo at level 99."

Agguiwen paused briefly before continuing.

"There are three major powers worth our attention: the Heaven Dou Empire, the Star Luo Empire, and the Spirit Hall."

"And outside the mainland, there is said to be an island called Sea God Island, which worships a sea deity. Unfortunately, due to limited information, we haven't uncovered its true nature."

Agguiwen carefully explained the details of each power. But what caught the Lion King's interest most was...

"Oh? An island that worships a sea god? Does that mean true gods exist in this world?"

The Lion King leaned forward, intrigued.

"Yes. According to what we've learned, the god worshipped on Sea God Island is named Poseidon."

Agguiwen had anticipated the Lion King's curiosity about gods, so he had gathered this information specifically.

"Oh? Poseidon, the god of the sea. Interesting… Are there any other gods?"

The Lion King smiled.

"There are. Spirit Hall, for example, originally formed around a temple dedicated to a god of angels," Agguiwen replied.

"An angel god? Is his name Jesus?" the Lion King asked curiously.

"No, Your Majesty. Other than Poseidon, the names of the gods remain unknown. There's also the hidden Slaughter City, believed to house mysterious unnamed gods. So far, we've found no clear identities for them."

Agguiwen looked slightly ashamed.

"Hmph, hiding in the shadows, are they? No matter. When our army arrives, they'll have no choice but to show themselves," the Lion King said arrogantly, resting his helmeted head on one hand.

"Then in my name, in the name of the King of Great Britain, I command all the Knights of the Round Table to assemble. We will bring justice to the Douluo Continent!"

The Lion King gazed into the distance, as though he could already see the gods watching from above.

With the King's command, the entire kingdom of Camelot began to move like a well-oiled machine.

Countless knights, fully clad in shining armor, gathered in the square, standing in formation, ready to march.

"Let's go!"

Standing on a high platform, the Lion King's voice rang out.

The knights moved forward in unison, their discipline forming a terrifying sight. And yet, this was only a fraction of Camelot's full strength.

"Sir Gawain, Sir Lancelot, Sir Drizzt—I appoint the three of you as envoys to the major powers of the Douluo Continent," the Lion King declared.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" the three knights responded in unison.

The Round Table Knights were as charming as they were strong—handsome, noble, and loyal.

Standing off to the side, Mordred was visibly unhappy. He had hoped to be chosen as well. But facing this white-armored father was not like dealing with the more lenient blue one. The big white dad was strict, so Mordred kept his dissatisfaction to himself.

"This mission is not about conquest or forcing them to kneel before Britain," the Lion King continued.

"Since being summoned to this world, I've wondered why we were brought here. Is there a reason, a purpose for our existence in this place?"

"At last, I've received the revelation."

The Lion King's gaze swept across the gathered knights.

"The Burning Human Beast will arrive in this secondary world soon. We were summoned to prevent the same tragedy from repeating."

"In a few years, when the Burning Human Beast descends, we will be this world's last hope."

"That is why we must unite the forces of the Douluo Continent and prepare together to face what is coming."

If it weren't for Xu Wenlong's fear that the Lion King might destroy the Douluo Continent and trigger unpredictable consequences, he wouldn't have inserted this plotline.

But Xu Wenlong was right to be cautious.

The so-called law of the God Realm, which forbids interference in the human world, is about as strong as wet tissue paper. Not only does Tang San later abuse this rule at will, but even now, the gods treat it like a joke.

These laws are really only meant to restrict minor gods.

As for the Five Great Gods? They treat the rules as optional.

The God Realm pays close attention to Douluo Continent for a reason. Sea God, Rakshasa God, Shura God, Angel God—all have left their inheritances here.

Why is this land so important?

Maybe because it generates a ton of profit through sequels?

In any case—profit is sacred!

There's also the possibility that the God Realm suspects the Silver Dragon King, whom they've been searching for, is hiding on Douluo Continent.

Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: the God Realm does not want to see Douluo Continent unified or advanced too quickly.

Just like in the legend—once the God Realm was pulled into a black hole, the Douluo Continent immediately began to flourish.

Even though Xu Wenlong doesn't know if the Lion King could defeat the local gods, he's not willing to take that gamble.

After all, the Lion King is Xu Wenlong's most valuable "asset."

The Lion King's intention is clear—unite the three major powers of the continent.

Why unite instead of rule?

Because he can't guarantee that his leadership would strengthen them.

Also, each power has its own politics and grudges. Rather than get entangled, it's better for Camelot to quietly grow in strength and gather its bargaining chips for the final battle.
