"Life is but a game, we are all players but in essence, there are only two types of players- the winners and the losers, me? I am neither" - Ryuta Takehara

The next day came quickly, Ryuta, used to staying up late, had taken things slow and decided to walk around Orario for today. After all that had happened yesterday- he decided to- study a bit more.
Though, what really made him slow down was the status update-
Strength: C674
Endurance: A841
Dexterity: C645
Agility: B702
Magic: S954
All his base stats have shot up explosively, the paper where his first status update was on was still new and yet-
"His stats shot up by 1016… all in a few hours after receiving Falna…"
He would never forget the look of horror on the face of Hephaestus, the shock and pride of Hestia and the lecture that spanned the whole night-
'The fastest growing adventurer, the record holder to reach level 2 is a young woman named Ais Wallenstein, it took her 1 year to go from level 1 to level 2, she achieved it at the age of 8- to rank up one needs to achieve a certain feat while having at least one of their basic abilities at level D.'
Ryuta knew that his very first stat already allowed him to rank up, but it seems his dungeon dive had improved his abilities so much that he was basically a top tier level 1, reaching a point which many adventurers could take decades to aim for but never reach.
Moreover, he obtained enough high-rank excelia, to allow him to quickly get level 2 but-
'Any improvement in level must be done passed onto the guild, the guild will share this knowledge with other familia's and the records will be there-'
He thought about his and Hestia's circumstances as he let out a sigh-
'It it were any other God, this drastic improvement could easily be masked as a ruse, an act to gain fame, but- Hestia-sama is not a God who would do such petty tricks, moreover, she had just descended, she had nothing to her name and she was known as quite a- slacker.'
Pondering about it, Ryuta found it really hard to find any loophole that would allow him to rank up-
'I could act like someone under Hephaestus, transferred to Hestia but- these two Goddesses were not the type to put up such acts. There are innocent God's like Hestia and there are cunning bastards among them as well. It would be easy to spot the problems… fortunately, the stats and abilities of the familia members are not required to be shared… I could spent a year or two as a level 1 but… damn this is a hard problem'
The reason Ryuta was pondering about this was because he had yet to truly give up the idea of ranking up.
At the moment, he had quickly learned that his power was not too great. There was a certain "existence value" - at least that's what he decided to call it, on the beings of this world.
The monsters had it, making them have abilities and toughness that was hard to surpass.
Even mortals did, in the form of Falna, which made having a level advantage over others being similar to having an existence value a level above or below fellow adventurers.
The dungeon was also separated using the same system, organized to maximize survival.
Ryuta learned that the palace he went to was somewhere even level 2's would go to in parties.
Not due to his stupid hypothesis of needing a "baggage carrier" but because of the simple lack of power and limitations one person could do.
Interestingly, he found that many people focused on specilizations to rapidly improve, something not too weird but at the same time he found it most intriguing. After all, Ryuta found that being a jack of all trades was not all too bad.
He simply used magic to make up for his deficiencies but-
'Improving basic abilities would need actions and "experience" the experience does not mean kills but of true "experience". Getting hit and surviving would improve endurance, continuously going past the limits of one's speed would improve the person's speed and so on… its basically normal training with a hint of monsters and a side of God's blessings…'
He thought as he recalled his battle with the Minotaur.
'Using reinforcement to improve my basic abilities, allowing me to match the minotaur and ultimately kill it was probably what made me get stronger… endurance and strength in particular grew tremendously…'
Although he hated to admit it, he was kind of a specialist in terms of combat, his main focus was on high speed combat. Using a variety of spells and combat techniques, weapon and martial arts to overwhelm his opponents.
It was the best style of combat for a generalist, a jack of all trades, but at the same time it was also a style that was focused on speed and movement.
What he truly lacked was power and endurance, traits that had shot up tremendously after he forced himself to go over the limit, nearly dying in order to win-
'Was it the near death experience? Or was it the strain?'
Of course, as a magus, his mind quickly delved into analyzing and making sense of the system.
He was walking through Orario with his mind in some other space and yet he did not bump into anyone this time.
Money was not an issue as the tools he created yesterday as well s the jewels proved to be quite valuable.
Especially the jewels, the variability of the power it could bring out was a problem but since it could deliver a strike that ranged from a weak fireball to a frightening firestorm, all based on the amount of magic power and its quality was something many mages would desperately fight for.
In fact, the point about magic power quality was something he added after he heard about levels-
If power improves through "existence value" then so would magic power, following this postulation, Ryuta had Hephaestus test out some jewels herself if she wanted to.
Ryuta was waiting to see the kind of power a God's energy would bring but-
The jewel broke, it turned to dust, Hephaestus noted this and promised to make a fair assessment today, Ryuta was invited to participate but he declined.
He did not aim to get fame and fortune- for now at least, as his primary goal was to ensure that Hestia was protected. That the familia would get stronger and to do all that he had to do one thing-
"Now then, what kind of people do we need?"
With such a thought, Ryuta found himself standing in front of the Guild once more, a smile on his face as he strolled in finding the elf receptionist, Eina busy, Ryuta took this opportunity to move towards one of the receptionist who was lazily lying on her desk-
A pink haired woman, a human, Ryuta quickly noted her appearance and race as he approached the counter-
"Hello miss?"
He tapped on the counter startling the receptionist who quickly sat up and exclaimed-
"YES!"
Ryuta maintained his smile, he ignored the reaction of the others as he asked-
"Miss receptionist, I have a-"
But before he could say anything, the pink haired woman screamed once more as she pointed at him-
"AH! It's the little guy who seduced Eina!"
Ryuta: ( ◠‿◠ )
Eina: (⊙ _ ⊙ )
Everyone else: Σ(°ロ°)
