Chapter 18 - Chapter Eighteen (STORM)

~ 018

~ BRIAN

"Dad, could I make use of your credit card for some time? I'm really stuck with mine," I asked Dad, trying to sound as convincing as possible.

"Uhmmm... actually, I have a meeting to attend to right now and I'm running late already. But I promise, when I'm back, we can discuss it," Dad said, glancing at his watch.

"No, Dad, please. It's really urgent," I pressed on, not wanting to wait.

Dad smiled and handed me his credit card. "Alright, kiddo. Use it. Don't worry about the limit. Just take care of what you need," he said, giving me a reassuring pat on the back.

I smiled, feeling grateful for my dad's generosity. "Thanks, Dad. I appreciate it," I said, taking the credit card from him.

As he headed out the door, Dad turned to me and said, "Just remember, use it wisely. And don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything else." I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. With the credit card in hand, I knew my dad's wealth would take care of my needs.

I watched him leave, feeling thankful for his trust in me. I made a mental note to surprise him with something special later, as a token of appreciation.

I felt a sense of freedom with the credit card, knowing I could take care of my needs without worrying about the cost.

Damien sauntered into the living room, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Hey, bro, wanna join me for some retail therapy... or a credit card intervention?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

I shot him a mock-innocent look. "Shopping? I don't recall issuing you a formal invite... or a loan," I replied, chuckling.

Damien laughed and clapped me on the back. "Aww, come on, bro! I'll buy you a souvenir... of my choice!"

I raised an eyebrow. "Uh-oh, that sounds ominous. What's the souvenir?"

Damien's grin grew wider. "Let's just say it's something that'll make you question my taste... and your wallet."

I shook my head, laughing. "You're on. But don't expect me to foot the bill for your questionable fashion sense."

Damien chuckled. "Hey, my fashion sense is iconic! You're just jealous of my impeccable style."

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Iconic? Is that what they're calling it these days?"

"Yeah, whatever. So can we go now?" Damien asked, tapping his foot impatiently.

"You can't be faster than your shadow. Whenever I feel like it, then we'll go," I replied, taking my time.

I heard him grumble and mutter under his breath as he walked into his room. "What a brother!" he said, shaking his head.

I chuckled to myself, knowing I'd won this small battle of wills. "Hey, someone's got to keep you in check," I called out after him.

Damien poked his head back into the room. "In check? You're just slow, period," he teased, grinning.

I shot him a look. "Hey, watch it. I'm just fashionably late, that's all."

Damien snorted. "Fashionably late? You're just late, bro."

I shrugged. "So, what's new with Olivia? You two still going strong?" He asked.

My expression softened. "Yeah, we're good. She's been keeping me on my toes, as usual."

He chuckled. "That's good to hear. I'm sure she's loving every minute of it."

I laughed. "You have no idea."

"So, are you ready to roll now?"

I nodded. "Yeah, let's go. But don't expect me to rush."

Damien grinned. "I'll try to keep up with your pace... or lack thereof."

I know y'all might be surprised, judging from the fact that I own one also. But, I decided to try other places. And truth be told, I love this new perfume brand they sell. It's called STORM and I'm loving it.

As we headed to BRIG'S stores, Damien's eyes lit up. "Man, I love this place! They have some of the best deals on designer stuff."

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I've been coming here for a while now. They have a great selection of men's and women's stuff. And I've recently discovered this new perfume brand, STORM. I'm loving it!"

Damien's interest was piqued. "STORM, huh? I'll have to check it out. What's it smell like?"

I smiled. "It's got a great scent – a mix of citrus and woody notes. Really fresh and energetic."

As we entered the store, a sales associate approached us. "Welcome to BRIG'S! How can I help you gentlemen today?"

I smiled. "We're just browsing for now, thanks. I'm looking for some new perfumes and maybe some gifts for my girlfriend."

The sales associate nodded. "Great! We have some fantastic deals on perfumes and jewelry. Let me show you some of our best sellers."

Damien's eyes widened as he scanned the shelves. "Whoa, look at all these amazing perfumes! Brian, you have to get me some of that new cologne I've been eyeing."

I chuckled. "Okay, okay. Let's take a look."

The sales associate showed us some of the latest fragrances, and Damien was impressed. "This one smells amazing! What's it called?"

The sales associate smiled. "That's our new best-seller, 'Midnight Eclipse.' It's a unique blend of spices and leather notes."

Damien nodded. "I love it! Brian, you have to get me that."

As we continued browsing, Damien spotted the jewelry section. "Hey, Brian, let's check out the jewelry. I thought you would want to get something special for Olivia."

The sales associate led us to the jewelry section, and Damien's eyes landed on a beautiful necklace. "Whoa, look at that! It's gorgeous. Don't you think Olivia would love it?"

I smiled. "Yeah, it's definitely eye-catching. How much is it?"

The sales associate checked the price tag. "That one's $500. But we do have a special promotion going on – buy one, get 10% off on a second piece of jewelry."

Damien's face lit up. "That's a great deal! Brian, you should get that necklace and maybe a pair of earrings to go with it?"

I nodded. "Sure thing. Let's take a look at the earrings."

As we browsed through the earrings, Damien found a pair that matched the necklace perfectly. "These are perfect! I bet Olivia will love them."

The sales associate rang up the purchases, and Damien couldn't stop smiling. "Thanks, Brian! You're the best brother ever."

I chuckled. "Anytime, bro. Now, let's get some perfume and head home."

As we finished our shopping, the sales associate handed us our bags. "Thank you, gentlemen, for shopping at BRIG'S. We hope to see you again soon!"

Damien grinned. "Definitely. We'll be back soon, with Dad's credit card in hand!"

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Shh, don't tell anyone about the credit card, bro."

Damien chuckled. "Don't worry, your secret's safe with me... and the sales team."
