Chapter 7 - 449

The third day after the case concluded.

The Senichi Ayako Group launched a video sharing website called "Langbo." With massive financial promotion and the influx of numerous celebrities, it instantly became a leader among similar websites.

Yes, it's the same type of website as the one where the clown uploaded videos.

With the foresight from his previous life, Senichi naturally knew the future prospects of such websites. Sakuraba can be said to have good foresight, but unfortunately, his eyes were blinded by the small profits before him.

True to his word, Senichi made sure Sakuraba wouldn't be able to laugh after the case ended.

Originally, Sakuraba's website was doing well. If they persisted during the early stages of the internet, they might have become a leader in the future.

However, now Senichi directly invested money to crush the opponent with a strong momentum. The entry of major celebrities quickly attracted a massive fan base.

At the same time, Senichi also openly recruited experienced personnel at high prices. Due to the extremely generous benefits, Senichi didn't even need to hire a headhunting company; he simply took all the employees of the "acpany" website.

Sakuraba felt like he was going to cough up blood, but at that time, since the company was just starting, not many contracts were signed with heavy penalty clauses.

Now Sakuraba's company became an empty shell, and the website couldn't operate at all.

Seeing this scene, the companies that were planning to invest dispelled the idea of financing one after another. In just a few days, the "Acpany" website went from being a "hotcake" to a mess.

Especially later, under the guidance of Senichi's hired water army, people began to question why the owner of "Acpany" didn't assist the police.

Then Sakuraba was also criticized by the water army.

After spending two days, wrapping up the entire case, submitting materials and evidence to the prosecutor's office, everyone finally had some free time.

"How about going out for dinner tonight?" Sato Miwako stretched lazily and suggested, "Let's celebrate."

"Sure, I'm okay with that." Takagi immediately agreed upon hearing the goddess's proposal.

"Me too." Shiratori quickly followed suit.

"You guys go ahead; I won't be able to make it," Megure apologized. "I promised my wife we'd have dinner together with her father tonight."

After checking with Senichi and Chiba, the gathering was only missing Inspector Megure. After discussing it, they chose a hot pot restaurant near the Metropolitan Police Department for their after-work dinner.

"Hehe, Tokyo is going to be lively in a couple of days." Inside the small restaurant, Chiba mumbled while eating fish balls.

"Lively?" Shiratori was somewhat puzzled. "What do you mean by lively?"

"That thing, that thing." Chiba looked at everyone with an astonished expression. "Don't tell me you all don't know?"

"Don't know," Senichi sighed. "Chiba-san, your words are so unclear; it's hard for people to guess."

"Don't you guys pay attention to the news?" Chiba made an exaggerated expression as if talking to aliens. "At least keep up with current events; you should be aware of such a big event."

"You don't even know how busy we've been recently," Sato Miwako retorted with a glare. "It's more impressive that you still have the energy to pay attention to the news."

"You guys know it just by casually glancing at it during meals." Chiba complained, "A bunch of workaholics."

"Oh, oh!! Is it that thing!" Takagi suddenly realized when he heard Chiba say that. "Is it the Victory Parade this weekend?"

"Yes, yes, that's it! It's so lively!" Chiba said with a look of anticipation. "I really want to go and see it."

"Victory Parade? What are you talking about?"

Sato Miwako put a piece of bamboo-wrapped wheel cake in her mouth, and rolled her eyes. "You two are really making us listen to your charades during dinner?"

"It's about soccer," Takagi quickly explained upon hearing the goddess's statement. "Today, the Tokyo Spirits team won the J1 League."

"Oh, is that so..." Sato Miwako thought for a moment and said uncertainly. "Although I don't pay much attention to soccer, championship parades don't seem to happen very often, right?"

"Well... there's nothing we can do about it."

Chiba laughed and explained, "After all, the road to victory for the Tokyo Spirits has been extremely tortuous. They have a chance to win every year, but every time they just miss the championship."

"I know about this."

Shiratori also timely joined the conversation. "I heard that the final was quite thrilling. The team was originally behind, in the last moments of the game, equalized with a goal from Hideo... After that, in overtime, Hideo scored again to secure the victory."

Listening to everyone talking about soccer, a bewildered Senichi could only bury his head and concentrate on eating the Kanto-style hot pot.

The hot pot served by this restaurant had excellent broth, making Senichi, who was originally hungry, now fully focused on dealing with various simmered items.

Until this moment, when he heard a familiar name, Senichi couldn't help but look up. "Hideo?"

"Don't you know?" Chiba looked surprised after seeing Senichi nod. "Hideo Akagi, he's been hailed as a genius player in recent years."

"Well... I'm really not interested in soccer." Senichi scratched his head.

After all, soccer in his previous life was hard to describe in one word, so he basically didn't pay much attention to the sport. After coming to this world, he similarly didn't pay much attention to soccer.

At this moment, hearing them talk about Akagi Hideo, a familiar name, Senichi seemed to remember that Akagi Hideo they were discussing now was apparently an idol for Conan and others.

But knowing just this much was enough. Not being interested in soccer didn't mean Senichi couldn't extract important information from it. After all, anything related to Conan and could ensure he won't be affected by the curse was basically like Yoko Okino, a "case trigger."

The few people next to Senichi just realized that he hadn't spoken since a while ago.

"Oh, inexplicably relieved." Takagi suddenly patted his chest, looking relieved.

"Yeah, it suddenly feels more real." Chiba sighed.

"Yes, suddenly, Detective Senichi feels more tangible." Sato Miwako laughed. "The feeling of an ordinary person with blood and flesh."

Shiratori, after hearing the words of the three, also nodded in agreement with an approving expression. "Agreed."

"What are you suddenly saying!" Senichi, after hearing their words, couldn't help but roll his eyes with a displeased expression. "Even I have things I don't know."

"But your performance all along has been quite something!" After the unanimous response, they looked at each other and burst into laughter.

For a moment, the air was filled with a cheerful atmosphere~
