Chapter 31 - 474

Firstly, this is just a test.

Secondly, using connections from the police department would be too easily exposed.

Even if Haruka is trustworthy, she is still a newcomer who started at the same time as Senichi. Even if there are big shots above who can let her "act arrogantly" with their backing, she cannot casually suppress information without a legitimate reason.

Moreover, it cannot be explained or disclosed and this situation requires confidentiality. And if she were to do it with her identity, it would easily be seen as arrogance which could lead to isolation and alienation from colleagues and superiors.

And if that happened, it would be easy for those guys from the black organization to investigate.

In short, if Senichi mobilized his connections, it could expose a significant vulnerability. And if the guys from the organization find out, he would be exposed.

It's just not worth it.

Especially since there is no benefit in this since the outcome of the test is already known, it's not worth taking such a big risk.

If this move could lock Gin in a prison cell, Senichi would certainly use his connections to suppress the incident and take Gin away to the prison cell.

But unfortunately, it's not possible, so Senichi gave up using connections; it's just not worth it.

There's not much that can be changed in this operation. Following the planned plot is actually the better choice.

If it weren't for the fear that his previous influence might make Gin change his mind and kill Conan, Senichi would have decided to stick to the original plot.

After all, in this plot, Conan is completely on the weaker side. Keeping Conan in an undefeated position is the best outcome for Senichi.

Of course, Senichi isn't without other considerations. While being stable, he also sees this opportunity as a good chance to confront Gin.

Since they are destined to confront each other sooner or later, why not take advantage of the opportunity when not in a defeated position?

Compared to the system's rewards, ensuring a safe confrontation with Gin is the best reward!

Winning naturally speaks for itself, and if he loses, there is no loss. Why not do it?

"Well, time is of the essence. Let's set out," Senichi said as Conan hung up the phone and walked to the switch to turn off the power.

As for the possibility of surveillance around?

Absolutely nonexistent

The reason Vodka knew their location in Gunma is because the email had a tracking system. It automatically sends the location from the recipient's computer.

During the phone call, whether it was turning on the lights or Conan lying to Vodka that the computer on this end couldn't be opened temporarily, all of it was a test.

However, Vodka showed no reaction. If someone was monitoring nearby, they would surely see through these lies that were completely different from what Conan told Vodka.

So Vodka was just bluffing with the tracking software.

Unfortunately, according to the agreement made earlier between the two, the naive Vodka was being played like a puppet.

"Damn... Did they also put a password on the CD?" Conan sighed and looked at the computer in front of him with a helpless expression. "Was it set in advance by Itakura? There's no hope now. Let's copy it first..."

Conan's face darkened again because the copying was also unsuccessful.

This once again made Conan realize how well those guys from the Black Organization do in terms of keeping their secrets.

Well, not limited to items, but also members...

Emmmm... Let's talk about something else.

Conan looked frustrated after closing the computer. "I thought I could see the data on the CD. If there's evidence of their crimes, I could hand it over to the police.

Now, I'm afraid there is no evidence for this situation…..."

Although the other party is armed, the Metropolitan Police Department probably wouldn't send too many personnel if reported with such a charge, and they also wouldn't realize the kind of dangerous individuals they are facing.

Since neither of them wanted to see someone sacrifice themselves in vain due to their plan, they abandoned the option of directly calling the police.

"So what's your plan then? Are you planning to go by yourself?" Senichi asked knowingly.

"That's right..." Conan's face was solemn, "Although it's a bit dangerous..."

"If that's the case, we need to discuss it thoroughly," Senichi said while slowing down the car and discussing the next steps with Conan.

While preventing Conan's reckless "infiltration into the tiger's den" action, Senichi also kept a close eye on the surrounding situation.

After all, in the original plot, Conan and Dr. Agasa intercepted a ride because their car's tire exploded on the way back to Tokyo and they coincidentally encountered the gem robbers who were in the news.

But now, it's definitely not feasible for Senichi, after all, his car is not broken. If he doesn't want to miss this case, he can only "wait patiently."

And discussing the plan with Conan was a good opportunity. Senichi relatively slowed down the car and educated Conan not to be too reckless while waiting for the appearance of the criminals' vehicle.

Because the email reception was fixed for midnight, Senichi used this time as the reference and set off with Conan to return to Tokyo without worrying about not encountering them.

Moreover, the two of them came out of the villa quickly after the phone call, so there was no need to worry that the criminals had already run ahead of them.

The speed of the car was not fast. About ten minutes later, with a flash of light in the rearview mirror, Senichi saw the vehicle behind them through the mirror.

He lightly stepped on the gas, and the car quickly sped forward. The two cars moved forward one after the other.

Senichi naturally turned outward at the intersection because he knew that the robber's destination was also Tokyo, and the following vehicle followed suit.

Soon, they saw an obstacle ahead.

"It's a road check. Looks like it's related to the previous gem robbery case," Conan said with a glance.

"Ah, but we're both in disguise, so pretending to be strangers is fine."

Although the license plate was also fake, Senichi wasn't worried that the other side would discover his identity through the license plate.

"Is it Detective Yamamura?" When the vehicles gradually approached, Conan glanced at the person in charge of the road check and immediately recognized him as someone familiar.

Upon hearing Conan's words, Senichi slowly rolled down the car window and saw this "winner in life" who Conan treated as tool number two.

"What's going on, Mr. Detective? Is something happening up ahead?" Senichi asked after rolling down the car window. "Is there an accident?"

"No, no." Yamamura waved his hand. "It's for the gem robbers. Please cooperate with our investigation."

"Oh, okay. There are only two of us in the car, and this is my sister," Senichi said and opened the car window to show the scene inside to him.

Seeing the vehicle behind also stopping for the detective check, Senichi showed a hint of a smile.
