Chapter 151 - Chapter 148: Modern Pig Farm vs Magical Pig Farm

Li De shared his ideas about the livestock farm with Dylon and Harrison.

Raising pigs was a necessity; other options wouldn't suffice. Only by raising pigs could life be sustained.

The sudden decision to establish a livestock farm might seem surprising, but for Dawn City, it was an essential project.

Firstly, the current food sources were too limited. The residents of Dawn City relied solely on wheat. Bread with a bit of honey was already considered a fine meal.

As for meat—what was that? Was it something to eat or use? Most people would say they hadn't seen any since arriving in Dawn City.

However, few complained. Surviving without hunger during the Months of Deep Winter was already considered a blessing from the Goddess of Luck.

But to Li De, this wasn't acceptable. If Vampires had to eat human food, life would be unbearable for him.

As a seasoned meat lover, how could he live without meat?

Secondly—and most importantly—the current number of Whispering Bats was insufficient to keep pace with Dawn City's rapid development. He needed to increase their numbers.

These tough Magical Beasts could serve as powerful transport tools, which were crucial for the rapidly growing city.

A key issue arose: continuing the previous crude grazing method would severely limit the population of Whispering Bats.

Grazing was a primitive way of rearing, entirely uncontrollable. Any unexpected event could have a significant impact on the bats.

Establishing a livestock farm would be different. All control would be in his hands, allowing him to manage the number of Whispering Bats effectively.

Both men were centuries-old experts. Though they lacked modern education like Li De, once the pros and cons were explained, their biases as second-generation bloodline descendants dissipated.

It seemed that noble spellcasters raising pigs wasn't such a big deal after all. If even the Progenitor wasn't afraid, why should they be?

"Lord, where will the livestock farm be established?"

Harrison directly raised the most critical question. Selecting the location was the most important step in livestock farming.

After pondering for a moment, Li De slowly replied.

"The farm must be located downwind; otherwise, the pig waste will severely pollute the air.

It should be far from Dawn City's residential areas, with abundant water sources and convenient transportation."

After listing these requirements, he paused and added, "The city hall can issue an announcement to recruit residents who have experience raising pigs, hiring them as formal employees.

Let these humans raise the pigs; the Vampires only need to provide relevant magical assistance."

Not only did the Vampires lack the talent for farming and livestock rearing, but he also wouldn't waste these precious combat forces on the farm. Leaving one or two squads to assist with the farming would suffice.

Upon hearing this, Harrison and Dylon exchanged glances, both quietly relieved. It was good that humans would be raising the pigs. If the Progenitor had ordered them to do it personally, they'd really be scratching their heads.

"The first batch of pigs can be captured from the Blood Plains. Once the farm is established, we'll immediately enter the breeding phase.

Don't fear mistakes. Expanding the Whispering Bat population won't happen overnight. Moreover, I believe the number of beasts in the Blood Plains is sufficient for this expansion. These two projects can proceed simultaneously."

"Yes, Lord."

"In the future, rename the Blood Plains to Dawn Plains. The small plain behind the southern district will be renamed Moonlight Plains. This change will be issued as an official decree."

The name Blood Plains was poorly chosen, so Li De decided to rename it.

"Yes, Lord."

Harrison nodded, silently noting down these orders that fell under the city hall's responsibilities.

"I'll give you the relevant blueprints for the farm later. For now, go ahead and issue the announcement."

After Harrison and Dylon left, Li De stretched comfortably.

Standing up, he walked to the large window. Through the transparent glass, the bustling streets below came into view, bringing a smile to his face.

Building a city was indeed complicated, requiring attention to every detail.

But watching the city grow under his hands gave him an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

Li De shook his head, regretting his lack of education. Otherwise, reciting a poem at this moment would have been more fitting.

After a while, Li De turned to leave the office, instructing the Vampire guards to prohibit anyone from entering. He then lay down on the soft couch in the office and returned to Earth.

Opening his eyes, he was back in his familiar room. After stretching and taking care of his physiological needs, he opened the laptop on his desk, browsed the Glory official website, and saw the unchanged homepage before closing it.

Although Glory was causing increasing waves in China, it seemed a powerful force was keeping the discussions within a limited range. Li De found it hard to locate useful information online.

After checking Baidu and Weibo without finding any leads, he decisively gave up.

Priorities first.

He then searched online for several pig farm blueprints, carefully recording them.

After becoming a Vampire, his memory in this Earth body had greatly improved. A few glances at the blueprints were enough to memorize them.

With the main task completed, Li De felt bored staring at the computer. The excitement of Glory made his previous life seem dull.

Shaking his head, he exercised for half an hour, took a shower, and lay down on the bed, re-entering Glory.

While not much time passed on Earth, seven to eight hours had elapsed in Glory.

Upon waking, Li De glanced at the office door. The Vampire guard was still steadfastly standing guard outside.

Smiling faintly, Vampires were indeed reliable.

Getting up, he went to his desk and quickly sketched the pig farm blueprints he had memorized.

Though it was a modern pig farm, many high-tech devices unavailable in the world of Glory existed. However, this world had something Earth lacked—a magical touch.

Li De wasn't worried that a modern farm wouldn't work in this world. Besides, he didn't need to copy everything exactly. By combining magic, he could create a magical farm unique to Glory.

You have your modern farms; I'll have my magical farms. Let's call it even.

Imagine mage apprentices using Mage Hand to grab feed and feed the pigs, using Fireball to disinfect the pigpens, and casting Healing Spells when the pigs got sick. What a beautiful scene.

Moreover, having a superior race like Vampires raising pigs—tsk, tsk, tsk—it brought a strange sense of humor.

Li De's face lit up with a mischievous expression. He was quite looking forward to seeing Dylon, the powerful Level 10 warrior, herding pigs with his demonic bat wings.

Why did he find this so funny? Hahaha, don't blame me for being unkind—it's because your boss is the illustrious and mighty me.
