Chapter 8 - RIVALS

As Getsu disappeared into the distance, a heavy silence filled the air. The dim torchlights flickered against the stone walls, casting long shadows across the vast hall. The atmosphere felt dense, as if the very air carried the weight of their next challenge.

Kento stretched his arms and smirked, breaking the silence. "So, tell me, Kaito, which sword do you have?"

Kaito unsheathed his weapon, its dark aura blending with the shadows around him. "The Sword of Shadows." His voice was steady. "But don't think that's my only strength. I have my own abilities." He stepped forward, his confidence unwavering. "You think you're stronger? Let's test that in a one-on-one fight."

Kento laughed, twirling his sword in his hand. "A PvP battle, huh? Interesting." He then turned to Ayu and Rai. "Do you two want to join in?"

Rai crossed her arms, tilting her head slightly. "I don't think it would be a fair match. You'd be way too weak to compete with me."

Kaito scoffed, stepping closer. "What a joke. Why don't you just admit that you're afraid of me?"

Kento chuckled, shaking his head. "Afraid? Of you? Nah. If anyone should be scared, it's her—of me." He nudged Ayu playfully. "Hey, Ayu, why are you so quiet? You're usually full of energy."

Ayu remained still, his eyes scanning the dark corners of the hall. His voice came low, almost a whisper. "It feels like… we're not alone."

A tense silence followed.

Kento waved a hand dismissively, laughing. "Come on, relax! No one can enter this place as long as I'm here. Just enjoy the moment."

Ayu smirked. "Are you sure, kento? If I enter the game, nobody will be left to fight".Rai " ok Let's see how you handle this!"

Rai stepped forward, gripping his sword as blue energy surged around him, forming the shape of an electric dragon. The air buzzed with static as he dashed toward Ayu, ready to strike.

But in the blink of an eye, Ayu teleported behind him, grabbing Rai's wrist mid-attack. With a swift motion, he hurled Rai toward Kento.

Ayu chuckled. "Oops. Sorry, kid. You okay?"

Kento caught Rai, steadying him. He grinned, clearly impressed. "Not bad." He stepped forward and plunged his sword into the ground.

The entire hall trembled. Suddenly, the walls vanished, and they found themselves standing on an open battlefield under a dark sky. Strange creatures—half-human, half-beast—emerged from the ground, surrounding them.

Kento smirked. "Face this."

Kaito raised an eyebrow. "That's it? You think this is enough?"

Kaito's eyes gleamed as he teleported across the battlefield, his lightning ability slicing through every creature with unmatched speed. Within seconds, they collapsed into dust.

"See? If this is all you can do, then you're weak." Kaito dusted off his hands. "I think my sword's powers alone are enough for you all."

Rai clapped slowly, smirking. "You're getting ahead of yourself." She suddenly raised her hands, summoning an enormous beast behind her. The creature towered over them, four muscular arms wielding deadly weapons—two katanas and two massive shuriken.

Rai grinned. "Let's see how you handle this."

Kento's eyes widened with excitement. "Now it really feels like a battle!"

Kaito scoffed. "A battle? You mean you've never actually fought a real battle before?"

Ayu crossed his arms. "You guys are wasting my time. I don't fight weak brats."

Kento smirked. "Alright then, let's raise the stakes. How about a challenge? You—"

Before he could finish, a sudden attack came from the shadows.

A sharp kunai flew toward Ayu's back at an insane speed. But just before it could hit, Kento reacted instantly, summoning a glowing barrier in front of Ayu. The kunai clashed against it with a loud clang, bouncing off harmlessly.

Silence filled the battlefield.

Kento narrowed his eyes. "Looks like someone else wants to join the fight."
