Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Arrival of Xia Sang

"A young girl named Xia Sang, about my age, whom I met…" Ivina noticed that Luo's gaze drifted off into the distance, as if lost in thought.

"Luo? Do you know her?"

"If you like her, just have her come to serve you." Ivena knew Luo was evading the question, but she still felt excited about meeting Xia Sang soon. After all, when Luo wasn't around, she wouldn't be alone anymore.

"But remember," he gently lifted her delicate chin with his index finger, "she may be your friend, but she is still just a maid. Your status cannot be matched or replaced by anyone."

She slowly closed her eyes, accepting the gentle kiss.

"When will Xia Sang arrive?"

"I'm afraid it will be a little while longer."

The maid patiently answered the same question again.

Ivina sat dejectedly by the bed. She had forgotten that Niditara was a powerful witch. How could an ordinary person command a servant from her side? Moreover, she had secretly fled from the old witch's side, breaking the agreement and severing the oath. Niditara would not let her off easily.

And she had dared to make such a reckless request of him without knowing his identity or status...

No doubt Niditera was furious. Now that she knew her whereabouts, she would surely come to cause trouble. Would this matter involve Luo as well?

His affection had nearly made her forget her lowly human status, causing her to believe she was a beloved princess.

  Ivina shook her head vigorously.

She had to deny her pessimistic thoughts.

"Gla. Visata witch. Your servant…" The maid's words trailed off as she hurried toward the door.

In fact, she was simply afraid—afraid that Nidistra would come along with him.

Ivina peered out cautiously, looking around. In the distance, the sound of horse hooves approached.

What a magnificent palace, Xia Sang thought to herself.

The extravagant decorations were evident even from the outside of the building—giant gargoyle sculptures, fields of blood-red roses, soaring arched gates, wide porticos, and her own blood-red carriage...

The fact that Niditla had brought her here without hesitation suggested that the palace's owner must be someone of great importance. Could it be him?

She sighed softly and stepped down from the carriage with steady steps.

On the other side, Ivina smiled and called out in a soft voice, "Xia Sang... I'm over here."

Xia Sang descended from the carriage with composure, her chin held high, surveying her surroundings. Her demeanor exuded a princess-like aura, forming a comical contrast with her tattered maid's uniform.

"Xia Sang..."

From a distance, it was an odd scene. The maid in the distance approached indifferently, while Ivina resembled a servant who had been waiting for her master for a long time.

The maids around her began to whisper.

Gla. Visata—this woman of unknown origin, this woman whose lineage was heavily questioned, this woman whose behavior was odd and unusual. Yet she had gained the approval of Count Pujo, the honor of being the witch of the king, and the favor of the cold-hearted king.

Therefore, no matter who she was, she was untouchable, not to be offended, at least for now.

The maids around her saw that the situation was not right. One of them, who was obedient, spoke up: "Master, let me do it for you."

Before Ivina could respond, that gentle face immediately turned into a snarling one.

The maid quickly walked toward Xia Sang, who was "taking a walk." She grabbed her curly hair fiercely and dragged her ruthlessly in front of Ivina.

"Disobedient servant! The witch has summoned you—come and receive your orders!"

The servant smiled smugly, convinced she had done the right thing. She turned respectfully toward Ivina.

"Please do not be angry with us foolish servants." Glancing up, she saw her master's face had already turned pale.

"Xia… Xia Sang…" Seeing Xia Sang's disheveled appearance, Ivina felt guilty for not speaking up in time to stop it.

"Master, please forgive this servant's previous foolish behavior."

Slowly, Xia Sang frowned at the numbing pain in her scalp, not lifting her head, but speaking softly.
