(Under the Lights of San Siro)
Date: February 16, 2020 — Serie A Matchday 24
Fixture: AC Milan vs. AS Roma
Kick-off: 20:45 CET | San Siro, Milano
Enzo Sky Vito stood alone at the edge of the tunnel, head tilted upward toward the floodlights that blazed like celestial eyes.
The smell of fresh-cut grass mixed with faint traces of pyrotechnics still lingering from the pre-match tifosi display.
The San Siro pulsed with Milanese heart and soul — 70,000 voices layered into a singular roar, echoing through one of football's most mythic cathedrals.
The 18-year-old adjusted his jersey collar, Number 19 stitched with crisp perfection beneath the red-and-black stripes.
His Nike boots, crafted with a metallic-gold finish for his new signature line, glinted as he paced slowly toward the bench, flanked by Rafael Leão who gave him a quick shoulder bump.
"Questa è la tua notte, fratellino," Leão grinned. "Make it count."
Inside, Enzo could feel it too.
The momentum. The swell of everything he had worked for — now visible in matchday posters, pregame Sky Italia promos, fashion blogs from Milan to Paris, and on the backs of kids wearing his kit with pride.
And yet, the core of his soul still pulsed for one thing: playing beautiful football.
20:42 – Warm-Up Concluded
Fans stood in ovation as the team returned from warm-ups. Enzo could hear his name in every direction, even from the upper decks.
He gave a small wave, trying to stay composed, though his heartbeat thudded like a Champions League anthem.
Beside him, Donnarumma bumped his gloves together.
"Don't overthink, Enzo. Just... gioca il tuo calcio."
He nodded, muttering a quiet prayer, eyes scanning the mosaic banners in Curva Sud.
20:45 – Kick-off
"E finalmente ci siamo! Benvenuti allo Stadio San Siro per questo scontro infuocato tra due giganti italiani – Milan contro Roma! E tutti gli occhi, signore e signori, sono su un giovane prodigio... Enzo Sky Vito!"
The commentator's voice crackled over televisions across Italy, poetic and passionate.
"Il ragazzo d'oro! Il nuovo numero diciannove! Oggi è titolare per la prima volta in Serie A dal primo minuto!"
First Half: 00'–45'
The game began with fury.
Roma pressed high with Zaniolo and Džeko leading the charge.
But Milan held their shape. Enzo, starting on the right wing, often drifted inward — that False 9 instinct always tugging him toward the heart of the action.
11th minute: a sharp one-two with Çalhanoğlu.
17th minute: a flick behind his back to Bennacer in space.
22nd minute: his first shot — a curling effort that whistled just over the bar.
"Che tocco celestiale! Il ragazzo gioca come se danzasse sul vento!" the commentary sang.
Roma were growing wary of him. Florenzi began shadowing him, but Enzo relished it — every duel, every shimmy, was art to him.
Late in the first half, a moment of magic.
45'+1: He feinted left, spun on the half-turn, sent two defenders into a spiral, then lofted a no-look pass over the top. Leão took it on the volley — saved. But the San Siro had erupted anyway.
"Incredibile! Questo non è solo talento... è teatro divino!"
Halftime: Milan 0–0 Roma
In the locker room, Pioli clapped once.
"Enzo, you've unlocked the flank. Now give me the final ball."
Enzo nodded, still in his zone. No nerves, no distractions. He messaged his older brother a fire emoji. No reply — probably glued to the TV back in their Milan apartment, like everyone else.
Second Half: 46'–90'
The stadium was a cauldron now. Drums, chants, flags — it was tribal.
59': A turnover. Bennacer pounced.
He fed Enzo — 30 yards out, two defenders closing.
What came next was chaos. Enzo ghosted past the first man with a feint that seemed choreographed for a fashion runway.
Then he slipped between defenders like vapor, leaned back—
—and hit a bicycle kick that sent the San Siro into delirium.
GOAL.
"GOOOOOOOOOOOL DI ENZOOOOOOOOO!!! UN CAPOLAVORO! UN'OPERA D'ARTE! A MILANO NASCE UNA NUOVA LEGGENDA!"
He sprinted to the corner, sliding on his knees, right hand raised in Del Piero's iconic celebration. Donnarumma and Leão tackled him in celebration.
The stadium shook. Even the LED boards seemed to flicker from emotion.
Full Time: Milan 1–0 Roma
At the final whistle, the San Siro chanted one name — "Enzo! Enzo! Enzo!"
He stood at the centre circle, arms raised, turning in slow circles to absorb the magnitude. Not just the goal, but the stage, the applause, the dream — all real, all now.
Post-Match: Sky Italia Interview
Enzo, still in his kit, hair damp, gold boots scuffed.
"What does this night mean to you, Enzo?"
He smiled.
"Milano is home. Tonight... I just danced on our balcony."
