Colt approached the shaking man in front of him. He was taller than Colt, who was 185. But Colt had a better-built body, meaning if they didn't have powers, Colt would win.
Colt knew that the man in front of him didn't know how to use his powers well. Even though he was also brought here by Inuth's man, they didn't necessarily have the same power as him. So, this man could have a lesser power.
Even if he didn't, even magic power, as obvious as it was, needed harsh training before one could use it. So, Colt didn't want to do something exaggerated. As long as he won, it was okay.
So, he slowly approached the man. If he just told him to surrender, he would be pushed around a bit, but would be okay later. The demon realm made one stronger. Even the biggest pushover would become stalwart.
But when Colt reached out to hold the man's shoulder, the man's face changed instantly, and a punch landed on Colt's face.
Too slow...
Well, he was deceived, but it was okay. When Colt saw the man trying to punch him, instead of dodging, Colt activated his healing power to hide his real strength. The punch landed on his face, but it seemed like nothing happened.
The man's face changed. He was brought in by one of Inuth's men. The soul power the demon shared with the man was "strength." So, his punch was strong enough to bend iron. But Colt's face didn't even move.
Unfortunately for him, Colt was at a much higher level. So, even without the healing power, his face would only get red after the punch. But Colt didn't like being deceived, even though he was in the domain of the demon of deception.
There was one thing he wanted to do. He punched the man's face the same way he was punched, but the outcome was much different. The man's body took off and flew a few meters before he dropped.
But Colt didn't stop. He approached the man again, slowly, and punched and kicked him. He wasn't one to bully the weak, as long as they didn't provoke him. This man had provoked him, so he deserved a beating.
"Aghhh! P-please, I surrender," the man shouted after getting punched for the fifth time, giving up on running away.
But the answer wasn't one he liked: "It is too late now."
The thing was, Colt knew everything that happened here would happen since this was the second time he lived through it. He was deceived in his previous life and got knocked out with a single punch.
When he woke up, he was a laughingstock already, the man being beaten being the one who mocked him the most. So, he needed to take his revenge on him first. He needed to climb the revenge ladder slowly.
Colt continued for five minutes before stopping. In the demon realm, the rules were whatever the strong one wanted. And the strong one here was Inuth. He didn't give permission to kill people, but he also didn't go after every killing.
Especially if it happened by accident during a fight, he didn't care as long as the one who died wasn't someone important to him or someone he brought himself. But still, killing someone on your first day would stick out a lot.
So, he stopped even before getting close to killing him. He wasn't a bully. Instead, he healed the man with a simple "Heal" and turned back. The audience was cheering already. Again, they didn't care about Colt or anyone else. They just liked the good beating.
When Colt went back to the iron door, the man and woman who brought him here were waiting with smiles on their faces.
"Newbie, you are not half bad," the man said, "come with us."
Colt looked at the man. Actually, he had no idea who these two were. They were the same ones that brought him in here in his past life, but he had never seen them again after getting knocked out.
He didn't know if going with them was wise now, but still, if he didn't want to stick out, he had to do as he was told. So, he followed them. To his surprise, they were going somewhere he hadn't been to before.
Granted that he worked for Inuth for more than 200 years, there weren't many places in Ymira he hadn't been to. He was happy that he followed the other two as they entered a hatch behind the big castle.
Does even Inuth know this? If not, it is dangerous...
Since Inuth was the demon of deception, one of his biggest weaknesses was that he didn't trust any other demon or half-demon. If he didn't know about this place and if he were to find it, everyone would become a suspect in an uprising.
Of course, most couldn't even touch a hair on Inuth. He wasn't just deception, he also had magic power, one of the stronger powers Colt knew among lesser demons. Still, due to his trust issues, they would be under suspicion for a long time.
If he knew the place, though, there were no issues.
Underneath the hatch was dark until the woman flicked her fingers, and a small fire lit up around. There was a tunnel stretching ahead, but Colt couldn't see the end of it due to the weakness of the fire.
But he just continued following. After walking for a few minutes, Colt started hearing the sound of people. He couldn't understand what was happening, but there were a lot of people.
After walking a bit more, they arrived in front of a door. Inside was definitely noisy.
Cheering sounds?
He wasn't sure, but it seemed like people, or demons, were having fun inside. The man knocked on the door three times, then stopped and knocked once more. It was obviously some kind of password.
The door looked like the old tavern doors on Earth. Someone opened a small peephole and looked at them. Seeing the man and woman, he opened the door. But Colt was shocked when he entered after them.
There were no demons cheering or having fun. As if it were an illusion, the sounds were gone. No, there were still demons, and they were talking, but not in a way that he thought when he was outside.
More than a party, it felt like a luxurious restaurant. Colt started looking around. He didn't know the demons here. None of them probably bullied him in his past life.
Were they too strong to care about me?
But he was also strong at one point. And he fought against Inuth's enemies. These demons weren't there when he was fighting. He continued looking around until he saw the table at the very back of the big room.
There was one demon he knew.
Merlin, the leader of one of the strongest five half-demon groups.
