The tri elemental null had the body of a young boy of about seventeen years of age. From his small stature, one could easily notice that he was a bully's prime target.
From this, Zayden was able to deduce that the previous three nulls were bullying the tri elemental null before the cosmic energy came down to earth, turning all of them into null.
How ironic was it that after losing his mind, he became the strongest null? Zayden could only sigh at his bad fate. But none of this mattered to him; what he needed to do was to kill him and get the required exp.
The tri-elemental null had three elements on it. Its hair was made of multiple flames that were fiercely glowing. Its right hand had patches of rocks stuck to it, and from the elbow downward was what looked like a gauntlet made entirely out of rocks. Its right hand also had a gauntlet, but this was made out of water that refused to fall.
The gaze of the four team members turned to the tri elemental null, their eyes gleaming with different emotions. One excitement, another cautiousness, nervousness, and finally indifference.
As if feeling the gaze on its body, the null that was initially sitting stood up. Its hollow eyes looked at each member of the team, nothing but soulless indifference in them.
Zayden's grip on his sword tightened as he stared at the null, ready to attack at any time. Not just him, every member of his team had a look of concentration on their face. This was a real-life threatening situation.
Zayden could faintly remember when they fought this null in his past life. Even though the situation was a bit different. Since they didn't know about the condition to open the campus gate beforehand, they didn't kill the tri elemental null early, making it way stronger than usual. It was already at level fifteen while the three subordinates were at level thirteen.
They had to use everything in their arsenal to kill the tri elemental null, but in the end, the survivors had their numbers reduced by three strong members.
But now, things had changed. With Zayden's knowledge of the future, he knew what he needed to do to kill the tri elemental null.
"Guys," Zayden said, drawing the attention of everyone on the team. "The two short-range fighters, Darian and I, will draw the null's aggro, while Tyrel and Dare try to destroy the crystals on the back of the null."
"Right," the remaining three members of the team said without even bothering to ask how Zayden knew about the crystals on the back of the null when it had not even shown its back.
With the plan in place, Zayden and Darian charged at the null, both swinging down their sword and axe respectively.
The gauntlets on the hands of the null morphed into two curved blades, one made out of earth and the other made out of water. Without a change in expression, the null parried both of their attacks, pushing them back a few meters.
The duo managed to gain their footing and charged at the null once again.
'Bullish Charge'
The red aura surrounded Darian again, even extending to his two axes. With more fury, he swung down both axes at the same time, crashing into the two blades of the tri elemental null. This time, both of them were in a stalemate, and there was no way that Zayden could miss this opportunity.
[Phantom Blade]
He swung out his rare sword, releasing three sword arcs that were flying at the null at astonishing speed, aiming for its ribs.
With its two hands locked in battle, there was no was the null could block the attack, so the only thing it could do was try to dodge. It bent its waist at a weird angle but managed to dodge only one of the attacks while two sword strikes hit it on the ribs, drawing blood.
This made the null stagger back a few meters. At this point, Tyrel and Dare were already at the back of the null and they could see what Zayden said.
Three long crystals were extending out of the back of the null. One of them glowed a brown color, the other a fierce red, and finally a sea blue color. From what they could see, they deduced that these crystals were the source of the power of tri elemental null.
Tyrel pointed his pistol at the crystal and shot multiple shots in rapid succession. While Zayden and Darian were keeping the null busy, there was no way for it to protect its back at the same time, or so they thought.
Before the shots could hit the body of the null, a screen made out of water was erected at astonishing speed. It looked more like a glass screen that could shatter from the slightest touch, but it was strong enough to block every one of Tyrel's shots.
There was surprise on the faces of Tyrel and Dare. "What do we do now?" Dare suddenly said, racking his brain on how to defeat the tri elemental null.
He knew that the key to defeating the null lay in destroying the crystals on its back. But with the crystals protected by a screen, he was stumped.
A few seconds later, there was a sharp glint in his eyes as an idea formed in his mind. "Tyrel, use your double charge to break the screen of water on the back of the null. I'll deal with the rest," Dare said
Tyrel was confused. Even if he destroyed the screen of water, the null could easily erect it once again, so it was just a waste of the limited energy that he had. But with no other plan in mind, he just had to watch and see what Dare wanted to do.
'Lightning Charge'
The vein on the pistol glowed a golden color as the energy inside was being charged up by Tyrel's energy.
"BANG!!"
The bullet slammed into the screen of light, and web-like cracks could be seen forming on the body of the screen of light.
'Double Effect'
"BAANNG!!!!"
A louder explosion resounded as the screen of light finally shattered. Dare drew his hand back to the limit and threw with all his might a small ball of nanobots, the size of a marble.
Immediately, it landed on the body of the null, and the screen of light was erected once again, but he wanted to succeed. In front of Dare and Tyrel was a holographic screen that showed what the nanobots on the body of the null were seeing.
'nanoweaving'
With the nanoweaving activated, the ball expanded into a spider. With its attention on Zayden and Tyrel, there was no way the null could feel the small spider on its body.
The spider rushed back to gain some space before jumping at one of the crystals, specifically, the blue crystal that represented the power of water. Before it was about to slam into the crystal, it morphed into a needle, crashing into the crystal.
It was a small crack at first, but like a web, it spread, and before long, the crystal shattered.
"ROOAAR!!"
The once indifferent null roared in agony as one of the crystals broke down. All the water under its control fell to the ground, including the screen of water. Now its back of the crystals were exposed.
The null suddenly snapped its head towards them, its brows creased into a furious frown. It now saw them as the biggest threat, and it treated them as such.
One has to remember that the null was brainless and only attracted to life force, even though it was the almighty tri-elemental null. If not, how would one explain the fact that its unprotected back of the crystals, the source of its power, was facing the duo of short-range fighters.
Without suspense, they both slammed their weapons into the crystals on the back of the null, shattering them.
"RRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!!!!"
An ear-piercing roar escaped the mouth of the null. Now, the once mighty tri elemental null was normal, as easy to kill as the other nulls. Zayden quickly swung his sword at the neck of the null, beheading it.
Right in front of them, the null and all its crystals turned into golden particles, twenty-five percent going to each member of the team, while leaving four green cores.
Twenty-five percent may seem small, but one has to remember that it was from a boss null, with three elements under its control, and twenty-five percent of its exp was still enough for everyone of them to level up.
Golden glows covered each of their bodies as each one of them levelled up, amidst a myriad of system notifications.
