Kai sighed heavily, rolling his eyes as he took the phone from Viviana. He knew he was in for a long lecture.
"Mom, I'm fine," he said, his voice dripping with teenage annoyance.
"I was careful, and Viviana was with me. She's not a kid, you know."
Elizabeth's voice came through the speaker, sharp and worried.
"That's not the point, Kai! The race track is no place for a girl, especially not your sister! What were you thinking?"
Kai glanced at Viviana, who was pretending not to listen. He softened his tone slightly.
"Mom, Viviana's not like other girls. She can handle herself. Besides, I wouldn't let anything happen to her."
There was a pause on the other end of the line. When Elizabeth spoke again, her voice was gentler, but still firm.
"I know you wouldn't, sweetheart. But I worry about you both. Just protect your sister!" Elizabeth said as she hanged up. Viviana already got two milk tea as she handed one to Kai who grinned happily. The two of them walked outside the mall together and went to other shops. He found that Viviana does loves shopping but she is more a person who loves to buy summer dresses and sports attires she has petite body. Viviana stopped inside a store that had skateboards.
Viviana's eyes lit up as she spotted the skateboards, her fingers trailing over the smooth wooden decks. She had always loved skating, finding it to be a perfect blend of freedom and control. Kai watched her, amused by her sudden enthusiasm.
"You skate?" he asked, genuinely surprised.
Viviana nodded, picking up a sleek, black board with neon green wheels. She tested its weight in her hands, a small smile playing on her lips.
"I used to," she said, her voice wistful.
"It's been a while, though."
Kai's competitive spirit flared up at the challenge in her voice. He grabbed a board for himself, a bright red one with black trucks.
"We should go to the skate park," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I'll show you how it's done."
Viviana raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth.
"You're on," she said, her tone light and teasing.
The siblings paid for their boards and headed to the nearest skate park, their earlier shopping trip forgotten.
Kai watched in awe as Viviana took off, her movements fluid and graceful. She carved through the air, her ribbon fluttering behind her like a banner. She performed tricks he had never seen before, her board spinning and flipping in ways that defied gravity.
The other skaters at the park stopped to watch, their jaws dropping in amazement. Kai couldn't believe his eyes. His sister, the girl he had just met, was a skating prodigy.
Viviana's eyes were closed, her face serene as she lost herself in the rhythm of the skate. The world fell away, and there was only the board beneath her feet and the wind in her hair.
As she finished her run, she opened her eyes, a small smile on her face. Kai was standing there, his mouth hanging open.
"That was... incredible," he said, his voice filled with admiration.
"You're amazing, Viviana."
Viviana shrugged, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. She wasn't used to praise, especially not from her own brother.
"It's just skating," she said, trying to downplay her skills.
But Kai knew better.
"Why did you blind your fold yourself?" Kai asked. Viviana did not say after all most of her life she had been blind since she was 1 years old she had been blind only six months ago she was as able to see.
Viviana hesitated, unsure of how to explain her unique skating style. She wasn't ready to reveal the truth about her past, about the years she spent in darkness.
"It helps me focus," she said finally, her voice carefully neutral.
"It's like... it's like I can feel the world around me better when I can't see it."
Kai nodded, accepting her explanation at face value. He was too amazed by her skills to press the issue.
"You know, I think you might be even better than me," he said, a rare admission of admiration from the competitive teenager.
Viviana smiled, a genuine smile that lit up her face. Coming from Kai, that was high praise indeed.
"Thanks," she said softly.
"Race you to the other side of the park?"
Kai's eyes widened, a grin spreading across his face. He loved a good challenge.
"You're on," he said, kicking off on his board.
The siblings took off, their boards flying over the pavement. They raced through the park, laughter and shouts filling the air. For a moment, they were just two kids, enjoying a simple pleasure and bonding over a shared love.
Vivian did notice but as she skated she looked up an a handsome was standing there when she tried to turn around the man grabbed her hand pulling off the skateboard. It's him again Li Yihan! The guy from the hospital!
"Miss. Ling."
"Oh hello, cough cough, um well how is your grandfather," Viviana asked. She stepped backwards not used to being around other gender other than Zing.
"If you do not mind do you think you can come and check on him everything rubbing smoothly."
Viviana did not say anything for a long moment before she nodded her head.
"Okay I can check up on your dad," Viviana said. Her mind already switched from skateboarding to doctor mood. Viviana got inside the car Li Yihan assistant Zion Su got inside the driver seat and he looked at his boss whose aura that is usually cold and deadly is actually warm and calm. Viviana was staring out of the window when they pulled out at the hospital it was different.
"My cousin owns this hospital," Li Yihan said. Viviana stared at his hand that was held out. Viviana ignored out and walked outside. She put her cap on and she followed Li Yihan.
As they entered the hospital, Viviana couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity wash over her. The sterile scent, the beeping of machines, the hushed whispers of nurses it was all too reminiscent of her past life as a surgeon.
Li Yihan led her through the maze of corridors, his presence commanding attention from the staff. They parted like the Red Sea, their eyes wide with respect and a hint of fear.
Viviana followed, her mind already racing with possibilities. She wondered about Li Yihan's grandfather, about the nature of his illness. She hoped she could help, hoped she could make a difference.
As they reached the private room, Li Yihan opened the door, gesturing for Viviana to enter. She stepped inside, her gaze immediately drawn to the elderly man lying in the bed.
He looked frail, his skin pale and thin. But there was a spark in his eyes, a vitality that belied his age. Viviana approached him, a gentle smile on her face.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Ling."
"You are little girl who saved me and did two operations on me."
"Um you are healthy it's good, here is pills that you will need to take twice a day breakfast and dinner eat it before you eat anything. Give me your hand let me check your pulse.
