Chapter 6 - THE SELECTION

Tick… Tick

The clock is ticking and the time is moving. Zup is still on his seat writing the exam. Like the invigilator said, the exam was simple, so he is sure that he can finish it before time. The invigilator is walking all over the hall. He is taking every inch of his steps carefully that it didn't making any noise. The hall is in dead silence.

Zup is only looking at his paper and writing carefully, his handwriting was round and clear, when he is little his teachers was always saying that he will get extra marks for good handwriting. A gentle wind passed through, writing a refreshing Zup closed there,

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and adjusted his hair with his left hand. There was a bench and desk in front of them. That is allocated for the invigilator, so their invigilator went near it and instead of choosing the bench he choose the desk and jumped up and sat on it. Because from there he can see everyone clearly than sitting on that bench. Without making any noise he continue to watch them writing.

Tick… Tick

The clock is ticking again, and the time also.

Zup finished the exam, but he is still there reading the answers again, so he can correct the errors. He is a perfectionist on anything that he does!

After that he gave the answer papers to the invigilator and went outside.

There was a garden in front of the building; it was filled with lots of flowers, and it looks like a rainbow on the ground. Zup just gazed at the garden for a moment and then looked for any other interesting things. Suddenly he saw a guy who is also a candidate; from his looks,

"I guess he finished the exam before me," Zup thought, and decided to meet him.

"Hi… my name is Zup, Miguel Zup," Zup introduced himself when he met that guy.

This half-closed eyes opened when he hears a sound, he looked at Zup and said,

"My name is Kentamin," he said on a cold tone and continued looking aimlessly.

But Zup didn't decide to leave him, he continued.

"How was your exam?"

"It's easy," he answered without looking at him.

"I knew it, because you finished it earlier than me."

"Then why did you ask?"

Zup didn't expect this answer from him. He became silent and stood still.

He looked towards the classrooms to know if anyone other than them had finished the exam. But there was no one there. So he looked again at Kentamine.

And this time, he noticed a spear on Kentamine's back. It was tied to his body using a belt-like thing. And the sheen was black in color, not glowing but absorbing the light near it; that's why it was dark black.

"Is this spear made using black stone?" Zup asked curiously.

"Yeah, my father made this for me," he replied openly.

Zup didn't ask anything more, because he didn't want to end the conversation like the previous one.

The silence spread again. And a gentle wind passed through there multiple times. It was cooling as well as refreshing. The wind was not coming alone; it also contained the fragrance from the garden. Zup inhaled it; the smell was very much refreshing.

When Zup gazed at the building, he saw that someone was coming toward them. Within the first glance, Zup saw that he was not like them. He was a massive, mountain-like guy, at least seven feet tall, with spiky hair and a weird smile on his face. Actually, he looks like a monster.

"What are you doing here?" he warned.

"We finished exams, so we are waiting for the next test."

"Okay, wait, but everything will be waste because I am the one who is gonna be the knight."

He said with full confidence. But Zup didn't like this attitude.

"Who said that? It will only happen in dreams."

Zup became a little bit surprised and looked towards Kentamine. Because Zup didn't know that he will tell like this.

That guy laughed and said,

"Grahaha… we will see it, loser."

And he walked past them and was gone. Zup didn't know where he went. Because there is nothing in there in the direction that guy walked. Zup looked at Kentamine again.

"Are you also aiming for becoming a knight?"

He asked to Zup.

"Yeah."

Kentamine didn't say a word. He became silent again, and the whole place also.
