Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Out

Kookie closed the bathroom door behind him, the soft click of the latch a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside. He leaned against the cool surface, his eyes scanning the sterile space as if searching for a lifeline. The fluorescent lights overhead seemed to hum in sync with the anxious thoughts racing through his mind.

As he gazed into the bathroom mirror, Kookie's reflection stared back, a mask of composure cracking beneath the surface. His eyes, usually bright and expressive, now brimmed with unshed tears. The weight of his secrets threatened to spill over, and he felt the familiar sting of tears pricking at the corners of his eyes.

"Jungkook," Kookie whispered, his voice barely audible, "please come out." The words tumbled out like a prayer, a desperate plea to his alter ego to take over and shield him from the vulnerability that threatened to consume him.

As the dam broke, Kookie's tears flowed freely, streaming down his face like a river of pain and fear. He let out a sob, the sound muffled by his hand as he covered his mouth, trying to contain the emotions that had been building up inside him.

In the silence of the bathroom, Kookie's tears fell like rain, a cathartic release of the emotions he had been bottling up. He hoped that Jungkook would emerge, taking control and hiding his true self once more. But for now, Kookie allowed himself to break, to shatter into a million pieces and cry out the pain and anxiety that had been suffocating him.

Kookie's voice cracked as he screamed, "JUNGKOOK!" The sound echoed off the bathroom walls, a raw and desperate cry that seemed to shake the very foundations of his being. His eyes blazed with a mix of anguish and longing as he pleaded with his alter ego to emerge.

As the echoes of his scream faded away, Kookie's body began to tremble, his muscles tensing in anticipation. He felt the familiar sensation of his mind shifting, the boundaries between his two selves blurring.

With a deep breath, Kookie's eyes flashed closed, and he whispered, "Come out, Jungkook... please." The words were a mixture of command and supplication, a desperate bid to surrender to the persona that had become his shield and his refuge.

Jungkook's eyes fluttered open, and he was met with the stark reality of the bathroom around him. He blinked, taking in his surroundings, and his gaze drifted to the mirror in front of him. The reflection staring back was one of strain, his face tear-stained and his eyes red-rimmed.

A flicker of confusion crossed Jungkook's face as he tried to piece together what had happened. He looked at his reflection, his eyes scanning his features as if searching for answers. Memories began to surface, but they were hazy and fragmented, like pieces of a puzzle that refused to fit together seamlessly.

Jungkook's expression darkened as he realized the state he was in. "This is why I don't want Kookie to appear," he muttered to himself, his voice laced with frustration. "He's too soft-hearted." Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his gaze intense as he replayed the events leading up to this moment.

With a quiet sigh, Jungkook turned away from the mirror, his eyes scanning the bathroom once more. He knew he needed to compose himself, to put on a mask of confidence and nonchalance. He took a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering emotions. "Time to get back to normal," he said, his voice firm and resolute. With a swift motion, Jungkook splashed some water on his face, washing away the remnants of Kookie's emotional breakdown.

Jungkook's thoughts turned inward, his mental voice a mixture of frustration and wariness. "I shouldn't let Kookie come out again," he thought to himself. "He'll definitely cause trouble, and he was having a hard time to make me come out." Jungkook's mental tone was resolute, a determination to keep Kookie suppressed and out of sight.

As he mentally reinforced his boundaries, Jungkook's expression hardened slightly, a reflection of his inner resolve. He knew that he needed to maintain control, to keep Kookie's vulnerabilities and emotions locked away. With a mental nod, Jungkook reinforced his mental shields, solidifying his grip on his persona.

Jungkook's gaze fell upon the bandage on his hand, and a flicker of guilt crossed his face. "Kookie must have been so scared," he thought, his mental voice softer now. For a moment, Jungkook's resolve wavered, and he felt a pang of regret for letting Kookie out.

As he looked at his hand, Jungkook realized that he needed to be more mindful of Kookie's emotions, to find a balance between maintaining control and acknowledging his vulnerabilities.

As Jungkook entered the room, the other members stopped eating their breakfast, their eyes fixed on him with concern. RM was the first to speak up, his voice gentle. "Jungkook, are you okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning Jungkook's face for any signs of distress.

The other members turned to Jungkook, their expressions a mix of worry and curiosity. Jungkook's gaze swept across the room, meeting the concerned eyes of his members. He forced a smile, trying to reassure them. "I'm fine," he said, his voice calm and composed. "Just needed a minute to collect myself."

The members exchanged skeptical glances, but Jungkook's confident demeanor seemed to ease their concerns. They nodded, returning to their breakfast, though their eyes still lingered on Jungkook, searching for any signs of what had really happened in the bathroom.
