Chapter 1 - New God

What does one do when confronted by death?

Simple—you fight it. You fight until you can no longer fight.

And as I feel the skin fall off my body, I slowly crawl to my partner, who had died from the shop's explosion.

I grabbed onto their face. I checked to see if they were still breathing, and to my surprise, they still were.

I reached for my phone and called emergency services.

"This... is... Officer... Jeff... we're currently... in 35 Park Street... we need... immediate medical attention..."

But before I could finish my sentence, I collapsed to the floor, and I just laid there for a few minutes until I finally heard an ambulance arrive.

They picked up me and my partner and placed us inside the ambulance.

We were about to be saved, but just as quickly, my vision slowly began to fade. My eyes shut, and I finally succumbed to my injuries.

And just as quickly, my eyes went wide, and I screamed.

I looked around the area and saw that I was in some kind of damp cave. I tried to get up, but as soon as I tried to stand, something felt off.

It was like I was crawling on all fours, but it felt natural—like I was used to it.

I tried once more and got up, this time with all four of my limbs. I walked out of the cave and saw a small lake. I walked toward it and looked to see my reflection.

And what I saw shocked me—I looked like Arceus.

I was now the creator of the Pokémon universe. Does that mean I'm in the Pokémon universe?

My thoughts were interrupted by the rustling of leaves, and I saw a bunch of wooden wolves come out of the brush.

They looked at me with a predatory gaze and began circling me.

After a few seconds, they all jumped into the air, aiming to pin me down to the ground and eat me.

I quickly reacted by dodging the first wolf and kicking the others behind me with my hind legs. The ones I kicked exploded into dust from the force of my kick alone.

The first one I dodged quickly took notice and immediately ran away.

I didn't pursue it—there was no reason to.

I looked down and saw the wooden dust slowly reforming—slowly, but still reforming.

Then an idea sprang to mind. Since I'm Arceus, could I mess with reality?

I focused on the water I had used as a mirror and used my imagination to turn it into ice.

Almost instantly, the lake was now frozen, and the surroundings were now colder.

I smiled. It worked—just by thinking of it, I could rewrite reality to whatever I wanted.

I walked toward the reforming wooden wolves and used my power to burn every piece of wood trying to reform.

As I imagined fire, I remembered the explosion that had killed me, and instead of a small fire to take care of the wolves, it instead created a massive explosion that incinerated everything within a 100-meter radius.

I gulped and sheepishly walked back inside the cave I was in. I needed to learn how to properly use this power without harming any innocent creature.

And if any trainers were to find me, I would need to avoid being caught by their Poké Balls. I would rather enjoy not being forced to fight for sport.

I laid down inside the now scorched cave and began to doze off.

As I fell asleep, I heard a small laugh coming from inside the cave. My eyes went wide, and I got up instantly.

I walked toward the sound and saw a creature made of various parts of different creatures.

I slowly walked toward him—then he suddenly teleported right in front of me.

"Hello!"

I jumped back in a hurry, trying to avoid the creature.

"Oh, it's just so exciting! A new playmate that's just as strong as me!"

I was confused. What was he talking about?

"Anyways, that's all for today, folks!"

"What?"
