After sitting down and beginning to absorb the Spirit Qi of the surroundings, Cie Lin couldn't believe what he felt.
His Spirit Qi absorbing speed was immaculate. He had first expected his cultivation speed to be similar to his past life's, because of the support of the sect, but that was absolutely not the case.
It is especially annoying that I need to pay for everything on my own. I didn't even ask what my providence is, but I guess it doesn't really matter as it wouldn't change anything at my current situation.
It seems a young world has much more Spirit Qi than an older world. Could that be because of Cultivators, who absorbed most of the Spirit Qi.
While absorbing the Spirit Qi, he regularly thought about those things, but didn't come to a good conclusion. Sighing internally, Cie Lin decided to develop a plan for the future
He needed to impact truly everyone. He could take the morally wrong path and kill everything that moves. But something that is dead, can't give me points anymore, he contemplated.
And my Karma balance would probably also grow by a few zeros. Compared to becoming the first Sect Leader of this world, it seems to be lacking.
As a Sect Leader I'd be able to influence the entire world and with my talent I could become someone everyone envies. Someone who could just be the protagonist. And if I took in disciples, that would probably become even more.
With that thought process, he came to a conclusion about the dilemma.
He, Cie Lin, will be the hero. The hero of Scarlet Cloud World.
Cie Lin's devious smile in thought of the rewards grew even brighter. He didn't even notice the time flying by. In the blink of an eye many years passed. In that time, he managed to bring all his six elemental natures to the ninth level of Qi Refinement. One tiny step short of the Foundation Establishment Realm.
However, he felt like he had hit a bottleneck, which won't be easily solved even if he decided to cultivate for a much longer time. That was expected, he sighed in exasperation.
He reminded himself to be patient. In his last life his father prepared a pill to make a breakthrough to Foundation Establishment. Otherwise, he wasn't sure if he had managed to breakthrough.
He should just be happy to make so much progress in just a dozen years. Cie Lin smiled as he stood up from his position. Yawning, held his hand in front of his mouth and began a little stretching.
Even though, he didn't need to do all that, he still wanted to feel human. If he didn't do any of that, he would probably feel like a robot, Cie Lin thought to himself.
Then, he jumped? Jumped downwards the mountain slope. Or maybe that he fell, was a much more accurate description of him tumbling down the slope in an inelegant manner.
Or did he roll? Cie Lin didn't particularly care about that as it happened. The most important part was that it was fun and it just happened to be the fastest way downwards.
He was sure that he woke up some animals on the way down, but that was an outcome, which he was able to accept for them. A small jolt of happiness wasn't able to hide itself on his lips when he stopped rolling.
"Oh, I love living." Cie Lin spoke to himself inwardly. The sun glimmered through the forest's trees, shining in Cie Lin's face. Before him a huge forest hid most of the view and behind him was the steep mountain slope.
I wonder how the people lived before there were cultivators here. Did they live in huts, they must surely have had weapons, or?
Cie Lin started wandering through the woods, finding some stones, which looked nice, but he decided that they weren't worth taking with him. Much too heavy and they would only slow him down.
Though some shone even better than others, Cie Lin decided to get himself together and stop it. He didn't even follow some kind of way, it was very easy to get lost in here. His sensing technique wasn't good enough to check the whole forest and it would consume too much Spirit Qi to keep it up for hours, Cie Lin decided against it.
Maybe he should climb up a tree to look for a fire in the distance. Fires are normally a good sign for existing population, he contemplated.
And what do I have to lose? My face? Here is no one, who could see me losing face, so I'll do it.
So decided, so done. In mere seconds Cie Lin was in the treetops and spied out the environment while holding himself with one hand at a branch.
Much to Cie Lin's surprise, he quickly discovered a cloud of smoke ascending to the heavens in the not so far distance.
And also much to his surprise, the branch he had grabbed to hold his balance started to make creaking sounds.
Not too everyone's surprise the branch broke in the next second, he fell down on his behind, but it didn't hurt him very much. However, he was infuriated. Cie Lin had never felt a tree letting him down with so much force in his entire life time.
"Junior Tree, do you DARE?" Cie Lin swung out with his fist and just happened to accidentally hit another tree.
The other tree spoke in wood. A very crunching language.
"What did I do?"
As if the tree actually wanted to counterattack, a branch as big as Cie Lin fell down and it would have squashed Cie Lin. However, he managed to dodge.
Seriously, what am I doing? I should stop this here now. Wait, didn't I think the same just some minutes ago?
Cie Lin began doubting his mental capacity. Cie Lin stopped doubting mental capacity.
Anyways, I still remember from which direction that cloud of smoke came from. Let's go there fast before I start talking to rocks and walls. I am probably just a bit confused from everything that has been going on.
Fearing he might do another stupid thing, he increased the pace while walking to the village and arrived there in the next ten minutes. It reminded him of the houses the farmer of the Sword Horizon Sect always used to live in. That left Cie Lin with many thoughts about what would have happened if there had never been cultivators.
Would we have lived like farmers? I have trouble imagining it.
