Light from the rising sun passed through the castle windows revealing a mother standing over her child's crib with a smile as warm as the sun's rays.
A knock could be heard on the door.
"My lady Anticlea, may we enter?" asked a woman from the other side of the door.
"You may," Spoke Anticlea not taking her eyes from her child.
The door opened slowly and let in maids young and old. They all smiled at the sight of Anticlea lovingly watching over her child.
"My lady, have you had time to eat your breakfast?" asked one of the younger maids.
"Not yet but I can't seem to walk away from the crib," answered Anticlea.
"I should have known," said one of the older maids as they let out a sigh.
This had become a common sight the maids have come to witness and they could not be any happier for her.
Anticlea the current queen of Ithaca was a fair and kind woman. She would even help the maids with their chores or even help speak on their behalf if they had made a mistake.
"It has been a year and a half my lady, I believe it is great time to start preparing some scholars to help the young master in his studies ahead of time," said one of the older maids.
"I believe you are right Olara," replied Anticlea.
----
Soon enough all of the maids had completed cleaning up the room and helped get some food for Anticlea and her child.
"We will leave you alone my lady," said a maid as they all left and closed the door behind them.
After the maids had left Anticlea sat in a chair next to her Child and begun to sing a song to him.
Though in the corner of the room a spectral being invisible to the eye seemed to stir hearing the song.
'Is this the underworld?' Odysseus thought in his head as he laid on the stone floor. Though he quickly sat up the second he heard a song he had not heard in a long time.
He saw a woman singing a song to her child but it was not mistake that was his mother.
'How could this be possible, she looks well and alive,' Odysseus thought as tears of joy dripped from his face.
He quickly got on to his feet and rushed over to hug her but went straight through her only feeling emptiness. He could only look at his hands in disdain.
'Is this my punishment, my penance for the atrocities I have committed?' Odysseus could only think as his tears of joy soon turned to tears of pain and sadness.
Odysseus walked in front of his mother and sat down on a chair across from her. He calmed down as he kept on looking at his mothers face and seeing her well and young at least brought him some peace.
A few minutes had passed as Anticlea proceeded to stand up over the crib.
"My Little Ody," Anticlea said aloud jolting Odysseus at the sudden use of his childhood nickname.
As Odysseus was about to respond he saw the child stand up in his crib and look at Anticlea.
"How is my little treasure doing?" Anticlea would ask as she poked his cheek.
Odysseus froze realizing she was talking to the child. Though his thoughts were put to a stop as the child proceeded to look his way. One blue eye and one brown eye were being pointed his way.
'Those....are...my eyes' Odysseus thought to himself realizing that this was no new life of his mother but his past.
Though Odysseus was not ready for what his child self would do next.
A/N: I will be calling the living Odysseus Ody so their is not much confusion.
Ody proceeded to reach his hands towards Odysseus, his eyes locking onto his.
"oooddddd," Ody tried saying while looking at Odysseus.
Anticlea could only laugh seeing her son move around and make cute noises.
Though right next to her Odysseus stood frozen as he realized something that Anticlea could not realize.
Ody could somehow see him.
