While following the light I could finally see, I continued to use the force to sense anything I could. As I crawled forward I started to wear out. My hands and knees were numb and my breath slowed. I was getting tired, despite my incredible endurance from trading I was weakening. I was gradually losing sensation in my body. I could no longer taste my saliva and my touch was almost completely shot. My smell was ineffective in this cold and my hearing wasn't at the level I could navigate with.
My touch was still working as I crawled but it had been reduced to phantoms of what it should be. After eternal darkness with a single dot of existence I collapsed unable to move my hands any longer. I still moved however. My touch was still there and my arms had locked in front of me. I slowly inched myself forward on my belly. The light hadn't gotten bigger or brighter but is still had to go to it.
This was my test and what I was suffering was my own fears. I had believed them conquered but they had obviously never been beaten. I closed off my force sight along with my eyes and went back to pushing towards the light. It felt like sensory deprivation as I only had the painful touch to navigate by. An unknown time later my legs stopped and I completely slumped ready to pass out.
Suddenly my blindness switched to a harsh white expanse of nothing. My blindness had changed to pure white instead of black and I felt a burning heat upon me. My senses had come back and overloaded. Even my force sight was so detailed that the world looked like I had regained my physical sight. I got back up and continued my crawl till I was collapsed again. I don't remember how many times I collapsed only to feel a surge of heat and then strength.
After so many eternities I finally saw something different in the strange colored, blank expanse of confusion. A small pillar of ice with a dark blue color near the top. I reached it in almost an instant but found the crystal invaded in ice. A small ray of light came through somewhere in the ceiling and shined onto the ice. I would have to wait for the ice to melt to the lights heat to get the crystal. I sat down and closed my eyes to meditate on what I just went through.
After my meditation I awoke to my strength once again restored and my body unharmed. In front of me was an ice pillar rising from the cold ground with a small puddle on the middle of the top. At the bottom of the puddle was a light blue nearly white kyber crystal. I reached in and grabbed it through the ice water. It was a strange crystal shape that greeted me as the crystal had a rough bottom from its formation with a large center crystal and two smaller crystals pointing out at opposite sides.
With my crystal in hand I realized that my force sight was no longer nearly uncolored or smudged. My sight was still blurry and limited but I could see in almost perfect clarity my surroundings. I could see things I could only imagine from my past life such as the fraying strings on my clothes or the small cuts and bruises on my body. My sight was nolonger horribly impaired like marvel daredevil's vision but more like that of a Hyuga from Naruto.
With my sight back I could also see that I was on a raised natural platform of stone and ice in the middle of a small cavern. The ground below the platform was just barely out of reach for my small body. With my observations done I began my trudge back to the entrance of the caves. By the time I got back I found the waterfall frozen and all light extinguished except for my crystals small glow. I knew that the threat of being trapped was just a lie so with a bit of effort I simply crumbled the wall to the ground and stepped through.
I was met with the others stunned faces and Yodas knowing smirk. He then explained that the threat was a lie to motivate us into pushing into the caves. With some more sagely advice we were taken back to the ship to warm up then construct our sabers. Huyang looked just like he did in the show as he began instructing us in the creation of our saber hilts. The design I made first was much like a normal saber but didn't feel right so I disassembled it and began channeling the force to lift parts and the crystal.
I completely shut of my vision and other senses and channeled all the force I could to my sabers creation in order to get it just right. At the forces unexpected bidding I extended my hand and my saber dropped down. I pulled back the force and brought my hands to the saber hilt. It was as cold as ice yet strangely didn't hurt. It fit my hand perfectly and simply felt great as I raise it to chest height with both hands.
I brought back my force sight and finally laid eyes on it. It was roughly 7 inches long and slightly curved with a small brass colored pommel cap. The emitter was some kind of cross guard with weird emitters for the actual guard. The hilt was also quite heavy at around 4 pounds. It was made with durasteel and an iridescent blue metal I didn't recognize. The handle had small black textured plasteel strips that allowed my hand to fit and keep hold of the weapon better while still giving me good mobility with the handle.
Everyone else was still constructing their sabers so I looked to Huyang for guidance. When I looked to him he gestured for me to wait so I got into a comfortable meditation position and waited. After a little while the others started finishing and to my cue to sit and wait. Around two hours in everyone was done and Huyang instructed us to make space from each other as we were a larger clan than most and he had experienced enough accidents during this to have us make space.
As soon as he instructed us to activate our sabers the room lit up in blue and green. Only one person had a color that wasn't a variation of green or blue as he got a dark yellow. He was a nice and almost always optimistic person but was also extremely disciplined so the color matched him nicely.
My saber had obviously caught Professor Huyangs eyes as he strode over and gestured for the blade. As he took it I got a better view of the blade as it was quite long. The color matched that of my crystal with a nearly white, light blue. I didn't really know what the color represented but it paired beautifully with the hilt colors. The strange guard seemed to emit a thin and wide cross guard blade that almost touched the main blade right above the large emitter.
It seemed to me that the force had helped me make a perfect saber for how I fought. After a few seconds Huyang looked up and began verbally examining the saber.
'The hilt and blade match color quite well. The hilt itself is well balanced and clean. The curve with the cross guard is a rare design and the guard itself is quite unique. The light blue coloring doesn't have many known characteristics but is known to be one of the rarer colors a kyber crystal can have.'
After his analysis of my saber he went on to examine the others sabers and give them his analysis. Afterwards we all went to the training room and began getting used to our sabers. I stood in a corner going through all the forms I knew to start getting used to the feel of the saber within my techniques. It was much heavier and longer than most sabers as it was 3 feet and 6 inches tall. It was large for me as even though I was taller than most my age at 4,10 it was still only 16 inches shorter than me.
The blade fit me perfectly and I flowed through my forms with more precision and balance than I ever had. While the hilt was very heavy at 4 pounds with a large blade weighing it down even more, I could still wield it in one had as well as I could in two. I was planning to get at least one shoto saber and wrist mounted energy shields to augment my forms and either would fit well with my saber.
After spending the rest of the day on the ship with our sabers we all eventually began resting on sleeping mats we found in the training room. We had all had a long draining day so most of us passed out as soon as we played down. I stayed up longer than the others while meditating. I wanted to push my force sight further than I could previously. Most of the time I could see in a 50-100 yard radius but I had been stuck at this distance for most of my time in the temple.
As soon as I began pushing past my old limit everything began to blur. The blur wasn't much of a problem for me as I had lived with it most of my life and if I focused I could still see well. Around an hour in I hit my limit at 175 yards and could no longer focus at that distance. I figured I would have to learn some actual precognition techniques to increase my range. I finally crawled onto my mat and passed out like the others.
The next morning we all woke up groggy to our instructors and began filing of the ship to the temple after thanking Huyang for everything he taught us. He had taught us how to build, maintain, and change our sabers and had shoved multiple other pieces of knowledge into our heads so we could more effectively understand our sabers.
By the time we got to saber training we were completely awake and ready to learn with our new sabers. Our instructors informed use that besides normal classes and training we would be preparing for the initiate trial. We would get the chance at the trials next year and the instructors believed we would all pass to become padawans. The trials of combat would at least be easy as we were at the top when it came to saber combat compared to the other clans.
With my training most of my clansmen got curb stomped and Ahsoka pushed herself hard in order to continue as a sort of rival for me. In order to stop being beaten into the ground our clan members started harsher and more rigorous training. Our weakest combatant could now compete with padawans in saber spars and some had even begun integrating force techniques into their forms like Ahsoka and I had.
Over the next year beating me or Ahsoka became a bit of a competition for the other initiates as even padawans would struggle against us. I got ahold of some training sabers and modified them into shoto sabers so we could both train with them. Our styles evolved as we fought each other each trying to find a surprise to win with.
Eventually our competitive sparring got us in trouble and we were basically ground till Cin Drallig found out about what we were doing and dragged us and our clan to a training room. He tested all of us and deemed us all very competent combatants for our young age. Despite me still thinking like an adult I still technically had the brain and body of a child and looked up to Drallig as one of the best combatants in the order, so I wasn't surprised when I felt really good when he gave our efforts praise and approval.
Of course he also mercilessly corrected any mistakes we made and by the time this test/training was over we were all beaten and worn out. Everyone quickly went to pass out in their beds. I forced myself to meditate without my senses right before bed, then passed out from the rough day.
