Chapter 2 - the lizardman tribe & reminiscence

As I watch my mutated lizardman tear apart the frog folk I smiled as I reminisce back when I first started playing the game. That was apparently just a selection process for this competition.

"I remember I originally chose the lizardman the first time around apparently because I like the idea of role playing it seems I still haven't grown out of that phase either. Now I think about it I wonder if my old friends are here in this competition and do they allow the forming of pantheons."

I hum to myself quietly since before I had a Pantheon of five people back when I played the game we never met in real life but we always refer to each other by our character names there was Elizabeth who was a young lady who chose the elves as her race since she loved beautiful things. Next on the list was a little girl by the name of bi-bi and she chose the harpy race as her people she apparently was a middle schooler who just got into gaming and decided to try it out and in a meeting Elizabeth during an event on one of the public servers. And hit it off eventually those two would join the pantheon me and my two younger sisters formed. No I think about it I really hope my younger sisters aren't here cuz at least that way my parents would not be depressed after all both of them were just 15 year olds they shouldn't be put into this kind of game or competition where we could cease to exist.

One of the big parts of the game was if you ran out of Faith points and had no way of gaining more you simply died and had to restart and since it was an MMO they even put heavier restrictions such as making you go through character creation once again creating a whole new character. Most players you met would have told you that they had at least gone through five to six characters to get a real handle in the game.

In fact most people love the game purely because of how hard it was and how each advancement truly felt earned. I soon quietly shook my head as I focus down and saw the battle had ended. I smiled as I saw the lizard man crowding the large warrior I created with my mutation ability they started to cheer and started to give fervent prayers as I decide to speak to answer their prayers as I saw my fate points start to recover.

"Not as decisive as I would have liked but I suppose you haven't disgrace me my children. Find solid ground and build a village there. And if you earn my favor I'm a bless you to awaken the blood of dragons"

I stopped speaking as I saw all of them look excited as I grabbed the bodies of the frog folk and began dragging them through the swamp as they seem to search for a large amount of solid ground. I finally turn my attention elsewhere as I started to wonder when will I find a Pantheon blueprint. A Pantheon blueprint was quite the interesting item in the game it allowed you to create a group that all the civilizations of the gods who are part of the pantheon would be worshiped by. This allowed factions to appear but pantheons had a limitation they can only support up to at Max 12 individuals gods based off the 12 Olympians.

It was also The Debs attempt at preventing large-scale factions from dominating the game. It also made every slot the more valuable because they even went as far as to make it to if your character died it wouldn't free up a slot in the pantheon. No it would have a wasted slot occupied by dead body but it also allowed Pantheon members to revive each other which prevent character loss.

Unconsciously follow the lizard men tribe and as I look at my panel.

[Blank]

[Faith points: 200]

[Avatars: none]

[Races under control: lizardman]

[Pantheon: none]

I calmly hummed as I close the screen as I watched a lizardman tried continue moving I absolutely mindedly thought about the cost I had just to gain these followers which was a whopping 300 Faith points from my original starting 500. In the game you started off with exactly 200 base points. During the tutorial on your first character you spent a total of 150 to not just recruit your first try but followers but also to imbue them with to traits.

After that you would spend the remaining 50 to clash with a small enemy tribe. And after conquering said enemy tribe you would then select a culture type with the new burst of Faith points that appear after this successful victory. A culture type had a massive impact on your civilization after all you could very well end up being like the Vikings a rating civilization that did not really focus there culture around farming no conflict and conquest was there bread and butter.

Or you could choose the more diplomatic culture type which focus mostly on agriculture technology advancement and political words instead of interacting with others through blade and acts. Now that I think about it what culture type should I make these lizard men follow to if this was back in the game I would certainly go with the more Viking ask approach. Since I would have my friends to fill in the gaps once we entered the pantheon. But now with me completely unaware of if my friends are here. I have to be more cautious luckily the choice of culture type could be put off since at this point in the game The players would be purely in the cavemenesque era of technology and politics.

But right now I have bigger fish to fry as they would say because I need to understand the situation of the swamp. And judging from the scenery I can tell this was a place of at least a former residence of a black dragon how can I tell simple the loser man here are extremely healthy and for when I can gather from feeling them with my divine sense. They all have Poison/Toxic resistance. It's a Hallmark of lizardman who live in an area that has or had a black dragon residing this was one of the unique features of the lizardman.

If they were living in an area where a dragon resided of one of the 5 Element types they would gain a resistance to that element. Those elements were fire, lightning, poison, ice/water and wind. These five elements were the main magical types you could find in the game and there was a dragon race for each element. And correspondingly you most likely would find a lizardman accommodated to these element as well.

There was one other special feature of lizardman that I found absolutely interesting besides their adaptability to the environment of dragon resided in. And that was lizardman could evolve naturally into dragonborn which were a higher form of lizardmen. But dragonborn required a dragon to bestow dragon blood onto them for them to naturally form into a dragonborn because thinks that drop of blood a lizardman would awaken their own dragon lineage which facilitates their evolution to dragonborn.

I cannot sadly facilitate this evolution since I am not a dragon or at the very least my small amount of worshipers have not thought of me being a dragon yet. Which holds me back on developing them further but when they do am I natural Avatar becomes that of a dragon I would be able to grant them the evolution to dragonborn so each one will be different thanks to my mutation ability which will certainly affect the features they would gain as a dragonborn.

I soon blink as I look down at the tribe which had found a relatively large patch of land seemingly their own tribal land. I calmly watched as they prepared a large pie and started to throw the biggest fronkin corpse onto it. I assume they were going to make a sacrifice.
