Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23:The Truth Comes Out

Fang sat with her arms crossed, fuming in silence. Syaoran turned to Taio.

"Guard the door. Don't let anyone in until I say."

Taio nodded and left.

Syaoran sat beside her and asked gently, "Fang, how did you know I was a werewolf? And how… did you even get here?"

Fang huffed and replied, voice tinged with anger. "When I was eleven, you were sitting quietly, staring at the moon. I woke up and noticed you weren't in bed, so I went outside looking for you. I kept calling your name — no response. So I kicked you right here—" she pressed his leg, "—and still nothing. And then… when the full moon rose… you transformed."

Syaoran held his breath, his expression stiff.

"At first, I thought I was seeing things," she continued. "I ran inside, confused. I raised my hand to shut the door and then... the scent of blood followed me. You came inside… and what you did that night embarrassed me."

Syaoran's voice was barely a whisper. "What… what did I do?"

"You licked my blood!" she shouted. "And you were circling me like a clingy cat!"

Syaoran immediately turned away, red-faced from embarrassment.

Fang laughed. "That's when I started researching wolves. That's why I kept bringing you meat every day. But you ignored me. Not even a word! If you had just talked to me, I wouldn't have stayed angry."

Syaoran turned back to her. "I told you I was sorry! And don't you dare say this to anyone else."

"I'm going to!" she teased, and turned to call for Taio. "Taio—!"

Syaoran rushed forward and covered her mouth. "Don't!"

Fang pulled his hand away and rolled her eyes. "Fine." She sat back down.

He asked again, "But how did you get here, to this world?"

She folded her arms. "When I was on the mountain, I was resting under a tree. At first, a wolf came and tried to attack me. I fought it off. A few days later, a group of men descended from the sky and ambushed me."

Syaoran's face tensed. "Did they hurt you?"

She shook her head. "No, but I was confused. I don't know how… but I defeated that wolf."

Syaoran blinked. "You? Defeated a wolf?" He burst into laughter.

Fang slapped his shoulder. "Don't laugh! When I crossed my arms to shield myself, some strange power burst out from inside me. It destroyed the wolf. Even the forest got blasted. And when that group attacked, their powers didn't work on me. It was like… I was being protected by something invisible."

Syaoran's smile faded. His eyes widened, and he looked at her in shock.

Fang tapped his shoulder. "What? What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he said slowly, trying to cover his thoughts. "Just wondering… how a child could defeat a wolf."

Fang glared at him and turned her back. "I'm not a child."

Syaoran chuckled. "Alright, alright. Come with me. I'll introduce you to my family. They'll be happy to see you."

Fang hesitated. "If I face them directly, they'll think I'm some clueless outsider."

"Just be yourself," Syaoran said. "Don't act too human or they might get suspicious. But my family isn't that strict."

She nodded and dressed in a style matching the Lycan people. Then, they headed to the royal hall to meet his family.

As they entered, his mother and grandfather looked up, stunned by her presence. Syaoran nudged Fang forward, and she shot him a betrayed look.

His mother stood. "Syaoran… who is she?"

"She's my savior," he replied calmly. "She took care of me while I was away."

His grandfather eyed her intensely, silently observing.

The Queen approached her, her tone softer. "Who are you? Where are you from?"

Before Fang could speak, Syaoran stepped in. "Her name is Fang. She's from a small local region."

The Queen reached out and placed her hand gently on Fang's shoulder, examining her face with a warm smile. "You're beautiful, Fang."

Suddenly, the grandfather stepped forward. He stared at Fang, his voice deep and firm. "She is a gifted one… she holds the power of the Gods."

The Queen gasped. Syaoran looked stunned.

But the old man simply laughed, stroked his beard, and walked away, leaving the room filled with silence and awe.
