Chapter 4 - chapter 4:- The System

Jack's eyes snapped open as Angel's desperate screams pierced the air. He leapt off the couch, his heart racing, and that's when he saw Athena being bitten by Philip. Angel was frantically screaming for help, and Jack's confusion turned to panic.

Without hesitation, Jack grabbed the glass center table and hurled it at Philip, sending him crashing to the wall. Jack rushed to Angel's side, grabbed one of the table legs, and smashed it into Philip's head, ending his undead life.

As the reality of the situation sunk in, Jack felt a wave of horror wash over him. "Oh my God, did I just...?" he trailed off, staring at the lifeless body in shock.

Angel's tears fell onto his shirt as she clung to him. "Jack, why did you kill him? He's still my father!"

Jack's voice cracked as he tried to explain. "I didn't mean to, I was just trying to save you guys."

As they stood there, frozen in grief, Jack noticed a strange screen materializing before his eyes. It displayed a login prompt, and he was confused.

"Angel, I...I think I'm seeing something," Jack said, trying to explain.

Angel looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean? You're staring at empty space."

Jack pointed at the screen. "This...it's like a login prompt. Can you see it?"

Angel's expression turned concerned. "Jack, there's nothing there. Maybe you're going crazy?"

Jack hesitated, realizing he was the only one seeing the screen. "Maybe it's a mysterious system...it says I can sign up as a player since I made my first kill."

Angel's eyes narrowed. "Choose yes, let's see what's going on."

Jack nodded and selected yes. The screen disappeared, only to reappear moments later with a shocking revelation: an adventure game-like interface displaying his health, stamina, inventory, and more.

As Jack's eyes widened in understanding, he turned to Angel. "I think I know what's happening. There's someone behind this apocalypse."

Angel's eyes lit up with determination. "You mean it's planned chaos created by humans? We'll help each other uncover the truth and bring them to justice."

Jack nodded, a fierce resolve burning within him. "We'll do it together, Angel. We'll make them pay for what they've done."

Meanwhile, in a secret safehouse, the masterminds behind the apocalypse celebrated their progress. With 150 players signed up, they prepared to release toxic gas that would enhance the zombies' strength, furthering their sinister plans.
