Jason stood in the living room, pacing back and forth. Anger was deeply taking over him. Fai never told him he had a lover. Jason was furious and didn't really know the reason why. Maybe the feeling of wanting to protect his brother.
Just as Jason was in his own fermenting rage, Fai and Wine came towards him. Wine stood behind Fai, unable to make eye contact with Jason. He just stood there like a baby being protected by his mama. Jason kept giving Wine death stares, which made Wine even more scared than he was. Fai on the other hand, got his eyes fixated on Jason.
Breaking the tense silence, Jason finally spoke.
Jason:
So... Who's this? Your new boyfriend? And why are you guys having sex in the house?
Jason said squinting his eyes.
Fai stabbed his fingers at him
Fai:
Hey, watch your tongue. This is the love of my life here and I can fuck anywhere I want.
Fai stood tall with his words
Jason laughed bitterly, he had his arms crossed
Jason:
You? Love of your life? Since when did you start taking love seriously. You're better off as a play boy.
Jason words stabbed Fai, right in the heart. He never thought Jason would ever say that kind of thing to him.
Fai:
You dare to lecture me about love? You're not as bad yourself.
Fai said with angry tears flowing down his cheeks.
Jason furrowed his brows at Fai's statement
Jason:
What did you just say? What the fuck did you just say?
Jason's eyes darted to Fai, full with rage.
Fai:
You heard me right. You act like you're perfect, but we both know you are worst than me. You think I don't know about the people you screw in New York. I'm saying it again.
Fai grabbed Wine's wrist, bringing him forward from behind.
Fai:
This is the love of my life. And you don't get to choose who I am. People change you know?
Fai looked at Jason with a flushed face.
Jason who is now sitting on the well furnished sofa, stands up pointing his finger at Fai
Jason:
Listen to me, Fai. I don't approve of this relationship. I'm not going to watch my brother go through the same thing again.
Finally, Fai explodes. Jason was taken aback when he sees Fai explode.
Fai:
Then don't. Fuck you, Jason. Since when did you ever care about me? I never asked you to watch out for me anyway. Since you left for New York, I've been doing just fine. You never had my time. When I texted, you either said you were busy or sleeping. Now you come, you act like you care. Please don't. I don't wanna be your burden.
Jason stepped forward and held Fai by his collar, maintaining their gaze.
Jason:
Shut the fuck up! You know nothing. You have no idea how stressful it is at New York.
Fai scoffed bitterly
Fai:
Of course, screwing people everyday is a lot of stress.
Jason's fingers balled into fist about to land on Fai but Jason stopped himself
Fai:
Come on, hit me. Like you always hurt me.
Just then, their grandpa broke the tension. Grandpa chimed in from a corner by the kitchen.
Grandpa:
What in the name of Holy mother of Mary is going on here? Are you two fighting?
Grandpa approached them, and separated them.
Grandpa:
Why are you shouting at your brother? What the hell is going on?
His eyes glancing at both of them, who now look like they were about to explode on each other.
Fai:
Ask him. He's the one with a problem. Not me.
Fai said still holding Wine
Jason shook his finger at Grandpa
Jason:
Brother, my ass! You mean, adopted brother. He was never my brother.
SLAP!
Grandpa gave him a hot slap. Jason put his hands on his cheeks and darted his gaze to his grandpa.
Jason looked at Grandpa with wide eyes, hands still on his cheeks.
Jason:
What was that for? I was stating facts.
Grandpa's face twisted with anger
Grandpa:
Shut the fuck up Jason.
Grandpa pointed his fingers to Fai
Grandpa:
Whether adopted or biological, he's still your brother.
Fai's tears flowed down heavily like a waterfall. Fai was shaking with sobs. Jason words really hit him. It's true Fai is adopted but what Fai never knew was that Jason didn't see him as his biological brother. He was stating fact, more like he was destroying his heart.
Fai:
Grandpa, it's fine. He has never seen me as his brother. I'm fine with that because I also don't want to have a shitty brother like him.
Just then Grandpa looked at Wine's direction but decided to say nothing. He knew Wine, Wine was his biggest business partner's son. He already knew the cause of their fight was Wine.
Grandpa was about to talk but Fai cut him out
Grandpa:
That's enough! I'm leaving since I don't belong to this family.
Fai said shaking with sobs. Each tear that dropped speaks emotion, sadness, anger, guilt. Just so many emotions he had ever felt in years.
He looked at Wine with teary eyes.
Fai:
Let's go, baby!
Fai dragged Wine out of the building. When they left Grandpa faced Jason once more.
Grandpa:
You shouldn't have said that. Don't let your emotions make your words.I'm disappointed. That's not a way to treating your brother.
Jason was about to talk but Grandpa cut him mid sentence.
Grandpa:
I don't know what took over you but you have to control it.
With that, Grandpa left the living room for his room.
Jason ran his hands through this hair
Jason:
Fuck it!!!!
Jason dropped on the chair and sighed, resigned. He never spoke to Fai that way, he didn't know what came over him. A wave of guilt, regret and anger washed over him. His own heart betrayed him, he never meant to say those words to Fai. He had never raised his voice at him. He knew what Fai said was true, undeniably true for a fact. He had never really given Fai the attention he ever needed. He felt so bad.
Jason stood up and went towards the wine counter. He poured his self some Tequila in a fancy glass. He took the bottle of Tequila in hand with the wine glass, heading to his bedroom. His movements were sluggish. Each footsteps speaking emotions.
He sat on the edge of the bed. He drank a glass of Tequila. He gushed it down.
Jason:
I don't get it. What did I do so wrong? I was just trying to protect him as a brother.
He poured himself another glass of Tequila. Jason felt that he just needed to drink to forget about everything. He felt like be was being hit from many directions.
Finally, Jason broke down in sobs. Jason rarely cried. He was this cold and dominant CEO. But that night he cried his eyes out.
Jason drank to his satisfaction, even when he was supposed to stop. Rage just took over him. He never wanted to hurt Fai's feelings.
Jason cried until his breathing evened out. He was a mess, his mind was a mess and even his heart...
