Chapter 8: Assassin, Cleaner
"Boss!"
Seeing Tang Song emerge from the hidden door, Lane, who was wiping glassware on the sofa, quickly stood up.
"Lane, you're here alone. Where are Kane and Frank?"
Tang Song wore a loose white casual suit. He casually walked over to the sofa and sat down, raising a hand to signal Lane to sit.
"Boss, the Continental Hotel sent a big order! Kane and Frank took people out!"
"A big order!?" Tang Song rubbed the Black Jade Thumb Ring on his thumb, signaling Lane to continue.
"Someone violated the Continental Hotel's rules and killed someone inside the Continental Hotel. The Continental Hotel issued a bounty overnight, and many assassins in New York have gone out!"
Hmm!? Killed someone inside the Continental Hotel.
Hearing Lane's words, Tang Song became interested.
The Continental Hotel was a veritable colossus in the underworld.
The Continental Hotels scattered across the world were the most famous assassin sanctuaries and bounty posting locations in the underworld.
The High Table Twelve Elders behind it each represented one of the top underworld forces.
As far as Tang Song knew, Kingpin, who was known as the Underworld Emperor of the Federation, was merely one of them.
The alliance nature of the Continental Hotel made many organizations and forces like to post bounties there.
The Continental Hotel had no particular stance, but it did have its own rules. One of them was that no killing was allowed inside the hotel.
In the underworld, no one dared to touch this rule of the Continental Hotel.
Because once violated, it meant facing endless pursuit from the Continental Hotel and the forces behind it.
"John Wick!"
Tang Song dug this name out from a long-lost memory. He then got confirmation from Lane.
The plot of John Wick, also known as "A Bloodbath Triggered by a Dog"! An old story about a retired assassin whose beloved car was stolen and whose beloved dog, left by his deceased wife, was killed, leading him to seek revenge in anger.
The target of his revenge was the only son of a Russian Gang boss. After the incident, he directly hid in the Continental Hotel, hoping to survive by relying on the Continental Hotel's rules.
But he was killed directly inside the hotel by John Wick.
"Lane, find out who that unlucky Gang boss is?" Tang Song's thumb, rubbing the Black Jade Thumb Ring, paused. "See what kind of business he's involved in?"
...
"John Wick! I'm going to kill him, I'm going to kill him! All for a dog, a dog! He actually killed my son!"
In a luxurious mansion in New York, Viggo, his eyes bloodshot, held a bottle of vodka, drinking until his face was flushed red.
His knuckles gripping the bottle were white, clearly using all his strength.
As Russia's biggest arms dealer in New York, a dignified Gang boss, he was powerless to protect his own son.
"John Wick, John Wick, John Wick..."
Viggo muttered the name, his words full of resentment, yet a hint of fear flashed beneath his sinister face.
A dog, just because of a dog, John Wick, that madman.
...
"Damn it, where did he go!"
In an alley in Brooklyn, a black sedan stopped.
Several large white men cursed as they got out of the car, openly carrying M11 submachine guns, not caring if anyone noticed them.
They had walked less than two meters when a drunkard reeking of alcohol, with a scantily clad woman draped over him, staggered over from across the street. He suddenly pointed at one of the large men and laughed, "Hey, what are you guys doing? Smuggling drugs for the Gang...?"
Seven submachine guns simultaneously clicked off their safeties. The leading large man coldly said to the drunkard, "If you don't want to die, get lost."
The drunkard shoved the woman forward fiercely, pushing her to the large men's feet where she let out a scream. Then he slowly staggered closer to the leading large man, chuckling, "What? If I don't leave, you'll shoot me dead? Go ahead, try shooting."
The leading large man was startled to find the drunkard's eyes were incredibly clear, filled with dense killing intent. He opened his mouth to shout, but it was too late. The drunkard's right hand swung out fiercely, a sharp special forces dagger sliding from his cuff, directly slicing the large man's throat. His left hand held the large man's corpse.
Instantly, the drunkard had transformed into a cold-blooded assassin, his eyes emitting icy killing intent.
Pfft! With a flick of his hand, the dagger turned into a cold gleam and flew out, directly embedding itself in another large man's throat.
The remaining five large men raised their guns, but they forgot about the woman on the ground. The woman twisted like a snake, her body boneless, leaving behind several afterimages. Her fingernails, containing potent poison, lightly scratched the carotid arteries of four large men. Then, hissing, she lightly licked a trace of blood from her finger.
"The Continental Hotel's assassins are getting worse generation by generation, John. You really shouldn't have retired!"
The woman smiled alluringly, her pupils having turned into vertical slits like a reptile's, hissing.
Watching the woman's forked red tongue as she spoke, John Wick silently checked the firearms in his hands.
As the legendary assassin of the Continental Hotel, John Wick was also renowned in the underworld. Although facing the powerful Continental Hotel, many of his old friends chose to protect themselves.
However, he wasn't without allies standing by him, like "Snake Woman"!
"Bina, don't rely too much on your abilities. The Continental Hotel isn't without Mutant assassins!"
John Wick pressed specially made brass bullets one by one into the magazine. Click. The bullet was chambered. He turned the muzzle and offered the gun grip towards the Snake Woman.
"Take it!"
The Snake Woman took the gun from John Wick, her finger lightly scratching his palm.
But seeing John Wick's expressionless, cold poker face, she could only sigh softly in her heart.
Facing the alluring Snake Woman before him, John Wick had no thought of showing tenderness. He suddenly turned around, his two guns aimed at the back alley.
"Come out!"
The Snake Woman reacted, quickly raising her gun and aiming at the back alley as well.
In the shadows of the back alley, a tall figure stood quietly.
"No need to be nervous, we're just here to dispose of the corpses. If you don't mind, you'd best leave this place quickly. I'm in a hurry!"
John Wick's hands were steady, his two guns aimed firmly at the tall figure speaking. His tone held a hint of confusion:
"Cleaner? Since when are you guys this fast?"
"None of your business!" The tall figure in the shadows said coldly, "Thirty seconds, leave this place!"
John Wick took a deep look at the tall figure, then took the Snake Woman, who was full of defiance, and ran towards another alley.
