"Good morning, everyone. I'm Dr. Tommy Oliver — your new biology teacher."
The hum of idle chatter dropped an octave as the man stood at the front of the classroom. A tall, well-built figure with slightly tousled dark hair and a calm, confident presence. Most students whispered or shrugged, used to seeing new faces. But Zayne? His gaze was fixed.
Tommy Oliver. The legend. One of the very first Rangers.
Zayne sat in the back by the window, his body still, but his mind raced.
He looks younger. Does he even have his powers or the Master Morpher in this timeline, like in the comic?
Before the man could continue, a confident voice sliced through the classroom air.
"Hello, Mr. Oliver. My name is Cassidy. Cassidy Cornell."
She stood up with a dramatic flair, blonde curls bouncing as she adjusted her designer jacket. A few groans rolled around the classroom like a rehearsed chorus.
Zayne internally sighed. Of course, Cassidy's here. But this is all wrong. This introduction was supposed to happen before those three became rangers. This timeline's a total remix.
Cassidy's questions came in quick succession, all delivered with a blend of admiration and suspicion. "How are you so young and a professor? Where did you even get your doctorate?"
Cassidy shot Devin a glare that literally spelt Get over here.
Her partner-in-crime, Devin, fumbled with his camera and chimed in with an enthusiastic, "Smile, Dr. Oliver!"
Tommy pinched the bridge of his nose. "Please take your seat, Cassidy. I assure you, I'm qualified to teach high school biology."
Zayne chuckled under his breath. Some things never change.
The rest of the class passed in a blur of mitochondria, cell walls, and Tommy's surprisingly engaging style. Zayne kept a low profile, answering questions without drawing attention, observing everyone, especially Kira. He had to admit she was cute, she would be more beautiful, if she dressed nicer.
Her short spiky hair and punk-rock vibe hadn't changed. She was whispering something to Gwen Stacy, both of them laughing softly. Zayne's eyes drifted to Kira's wrist, where a glint of yellow shimmered—the Dino gem.
Strange no one else notices it, he thought.
[Master, the Dino gems possess a subtle form of reality manipulation. Only those bonded with similar artifacts can perceive them.]
"Huh. So why can I see it?"
[Because you are connected to the Omniversal Grid. Its perception overrides lower-level cloaking.]
Neat.
"Hey, Kira," Gwen whispered with a teasing grin. "Your crush. He looked at you today. I think you've got a shot."
"Don't tease me," Kira muttered, cheeks slightly pink. "He looks at everyone like they're part of an experiment. I'm sure he's just interested in something about me today; he'll stop looking when he gets what he wants."
"If it was curiosity, it's a start," Gwen sang with a wink. "Besides, you're talented, pretty, and the front of our band. Any guy would want you. You need to stop dressing like you got lost in a Goodwill store."
"Excuse me?" Kira raised a brow.
Gwen giggled. "I mean it affectionately. Just think of it as punk-glam-chic. Add some color. Dress like you want him to notice."
Kira groaned. "Let's just get to band practice early today."
"Fine, fine. No more fashion critiques."
At the other end of the class, Peter Parker, Ethan James, and Ned Leeds were hunched over their Advanced Mathematics textbook, while Tommy Oliver's class but he never noticed or he did and decided to ignore it, since what they were doing was beneficial. Peter tossed his pen down; his expression was anything but calm.
"Guys, do you think I made the right call with Oscorp?" he asked. "I turned down an offer from Anton Mercer Industries."
Ethan leaned back in his chair, tapping his pen on his chin. "Mercer might pay more, but Oscorp has cleaner PR. And let's be honest, Mercer screams 'secret lab accidents and I assure you; you don't want to get caught up in their shenanigans.'"
Peter's eyebrow arched in confusion. "How are you so sure I'll get caught up in a Lab accident?"
Ethan leaned forward. "You can call it intuition."
Peter was still confused before he felt a hand on his shoulders
Ned nodded. "Look Peter, I'll be honest Oscorp's safer—relatively. And they've got the best AI lab. You'll thrive there since one of their researchers favors you."
Peter smiled. "I understand. Thanks, guys."
"You're welcome," they said in unison.
Peter lit up, remembering something. "So, you guys excited for the Oscorp excursion next week?"
"Dude, I'm counting down the hours," Ethan said, practically bouncing in his seat.
"Same here," Ned added. "Gonna be epic."
Dr. Tommy continued the class, explaining topics in succession. Zayne listened attentively but noticed two seats were empty. He sighed inwardly, already knowing who the missing duo were and where they potentially went.
As if affirming his thoughts. Connor and Flash had indeed slipped out early, heading toward the basketball courts behind the gym.

Basketball Court
The court buzzed with activity. A few students shot hoops while others watched. Connor McKnight dribbled the ball effortlessly before dunking it.
Flash Thompson let out a low whistle. "Alright, I'll admit it—you got game."
Connor smirked, spinning the ball on one finger. "Not bad for a guy who played football, huh?"
Flash nodded in affirmation. "Yeah, do you still play football sometimes"
"Yeah, I do, sometimes" He answered
Flash snorted. "Honestly, I'm glad someone else is taking the spotlight. Parker's been acting all genius lately."
Connor raised a brow. "He's always been smart, it's his gift."
"Yeah, but now he's confident. I don't like confident Parker."
Connor shrugged, grabbing a water bottle. "Let the guy shine. We've all got our strengths."
Flash laughed. "You sound like a motivational speaker. Since when were you the zen one?"
Connor's gaze turned serious for a moment. "Let's just say I've seen some weird things lately. Makes you rethink stuff."
Flash blinked. "Sounds like something a geek like Peter would say?"
"Do you just hate the guy or something? Connor asked with a confused expression
"….."
Connor chuckled. "Forget about that. C'mon, let's run it back."

(Several hours later)
Back in the classroom, the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. Students filed out with backpacks slung over their shoulders and half-finished conversations.
Zayne stood and stretched. But then—
Ethan's wrist blinked. A soft blue glow. Connor and Kira noticed instantly. Their eyes met.
Alert.
Without hesitation, they slipped out, muttering excuses. And at the same time, an interface appeared
