Chapter 8
I didn't know what happened next, I collapsed.
I woke up and found myself on a bed to familiar walls of i and Williams room. But everything felt different, as if a veil of darkness had been lifted.
A feeling of relief wash over me.
"At least I didn't die"
"But how did I get here?" I can remember being in the other room.
Yes, I was in the other room, I could remember hearing voices and seeing people talking.
People that vanish before my eyes.
I tried to sit up but a wave of pain knocked me back down.
My back hurt and my head was pounding so badly.
Memories began to surface back, the attack, the pain, the unseen creatures fighting me.
My heart began to race, I looked around but saw no one.
I can remember being out of breath, someone had saved me.
Someone had come to my rescue, I can't remember who it was and how it happened but I know that it happened anyway.
I could still feel being watched, these unseen creatures were still lurking around watching and waiting for the perfect time to devour me.
My eyes wandered across the room looking for signs or maybe checking if I could see any sign of them.
Little by little shadows of the unseen creatures started appearing, twisting and shifting like living things .
I could feel my heart pounding, I shuddered while pulling the blanket up to my chin.
Everything was terrifying, I couldn't move because of the pain from the attack earlier.
It seems like the shadows were coming closer to me.
My grip on the blanket became tighter.
I closed my eyes so tight, my heart beating fast like a drum.
I could hear my heartbeat from the other end of the room.
My eyes still closed expecting another attack, I was ready to take anything but nothing happened.
I waited a little longer but still nothing happened.
Slowly I opened my eyes, the shadows were gone.
The room was back to normal, no shadows, no strange air everywhere was calm.
The pain was gone.
I felt strong and alive again, I hurriedly stood up from the bed and stretched my body, I was fine.
"How did this happen?" I asked surprised
"Have I been dreaming?"
"Jeeezz, a lot have been happening to me lately "
"What is actually happening?"
"Why I'm I experiencing all this?"
I pushed this thoughts away, as I hurriedly walked out of the room.
Just as I stepped out, something caught my attention the other room was locked.
I was just curious to know what was happening, I know I shouldn't be doing this but I did it anyway.
Williams had told me severally not to go to that room, all my stay with him I avoided the room like a plague.
But now I was a different person, I didn't care any longer about what Williams said or not after all he abandoned me on the night before our wedding.
I walked towards the door, just as I was about to open it I heard someone's voice.
"Looking for something?"
I turned around to see who it was.
It was a strange person, I haven't seen before.
At this point, I was scared but I was brave enough not to show it.
" And you are?" I returned looking straight into his eyes.
He let out a soft chuckle as he majestically walked up to my face with a smirk on his face, he lowered his face to my height as he replied
"Do you really want to know?"
I shifted backwards trying to avoid his gaze
"Yes, I deserve to know" I said.
"You deserve, huh?" He said mimicking me as he walked closer still having a smile on.
His smile, the way he walked, everything was perfect but annoying in a way.
I didn't know what was amusing him, because the whole thing was infuriating me.
"Yes, I deserve to know because you are in my house". I said
"Your house, whoa I didn't know it was your house, sorry miss"
"Maybe I should take my leave then" he said still smirking.
I had this feeling that he wasn't ordinary, so I was just trying my best not to annoy him.
What I've been experiencing lately has changed my perspective about everything.
I was the type who didn't believe in supernatural forces but lately I've felt what it was like to be watched, followed and attacked by supernatural forces, so I know better than annoying any person who has supernatural powers .
"What are you?" I didn't know when those words escaped my mouth.
His gaze on me darkened a bit, I could see it but almost immediately he switched back to his smirking expression.
"What am I, huh ? I am a human being" he replied casually, still moving closer to me.
I stepped backwards moving away from him.
"Why should I believe you?"
"Why are you coming closer?"
"Because I want you to see that I'm a human being like you" he responded.
He kept coming closer and I kept shifting backwards till I got to the wall, there was no more space to move to.
He crossed the space between us, his lips almost touching mine, his breathe mixed with mine, then he whispered in my ears
"How would you like me to proof it to you?"
Those words sent shivers down my spine, I was supposed to be scared but I wasn't, strangely I felt safe around him.
And for some odd reasons I wanted him to kiss me so badly, I wanted his body to touch mine.
He bent closer, just as he was about kissing me his phone beeped.
"This people just know how to ruin a good moment " he said as he turned to look at the phone.
He intended to walk away but paused midway before turning back to me , he smiled revealing a complete set of white teeth.
"I'll be back miss Aubrey, in the main time stay out of trouble by not opening that room" with that he turned and left.
