Author's POV
Remi was lying in her room while watching her favorite anime. On the other hand, a man with one child was sitting on the balcony, enjoying the night breeze while thinking. Yes, that man was Ren. Ren was thinking about a young woman who attracted him. Because his son, Michael, could easily get close to the woman, who was none other than Remi.
"Dad, aren't you sleeping yet?" his son asked with sleepy eyes. "Not yet, Mike. Why isn't Mike sleeping yet?" Ren asked his son. His son replied in a small voice, "Mike wants mommy.." That one sentence made Ren's heart feel like it was stabbed by a sword. Ren calmed his son while holding back the sadness on his face so that his son would not be even sadder.
Ren's wife died 4 years ago in a car accident. At that time Ren and his son didn't come along because it's his wife personal activities.
Ren kissed and stroked his son's forehead who was starting to fall asleep. 'It seems like I can't be a mother to Mike' Ren thought sadly. Ren also went to sleep, hoping that something good would happen the next day.

"Mike, daddy's going to work now. You be good at school, okay boy?" Ren said while ruffling his son's hair and kissing his forehead. "Yes, dad! I will be a good boy!" Michael answered cheerfully. Ren drove his car to his company. It happened that the distance from Michael's school to his company was only 10 minutes.
When he arrived at the office, Ren met Remi again when he was about to get on the elevator. Remi looked tired with eye bags. When Ren wanted to ask how Remi was, Remi immediately pulled the corners of her lips slightly, giving Ren a small smile and went to the elevator. Confusion was clearly visible on Ren's face.
Ren got on the elevator with anxious feelings.
He couldn't ask about Remi because they were taking different elevators. Ren got on the elevator specifically for company executives. Ren met his secretary in front of his office door.
"Oy, Ren. What's with that scary face?" asked Ren's friend and secretary named Vixer Kurniawan. Ren gave Vixer a sharp glare without saying anything. "Okay, okay, relax bro," Vixer continued while raising both of his hands in surrender.
"Do you know Remi? Remi Raquella."
"I just know that she's an employee in the finance department. Why?"
"That woman is mysterious, I don't understand what she's thinking at all. She always smiles and laughs. But there's something different in her eyes today. When I see her, I feel like I want to hug her, bring her to my lap, and calming her down. What's going on?" Ren ruffled his hair looking frustrated with Remi, the woman he just met.
Vixer was confused about how to deal with his friend's anxiety. He changed the subject by telling Ren's meeting schedule that would be held today.
At the same time, Remi sat down listlessly at his desk. It seemed like he had played too much water with Michael yesterday, because now he felt weak. Not to mention Remi couldn't sleep because his parents were arguing again. In fact, it was getting worse day by day.
His father was caught gambling by his mother, and his mother was caught cheating by his father. As a result, Remi couldn't sleep all night because of the commotion that occurred and chose to watch his favorite anime until morning. Remi didn't care anymore what would happen to his family. He had given up on hoping that his parents would get along again.

"Rem, are you okay? Your face is really bad. Do you want me to buy you some medicine before break time? Surely you've only been working here for a week and there's already news, 'A Female Employee Dies Due to Too Many Reports', that's not funny." asked Mira with a worried expression while giving a little joke so that Remi felt a little better. Because her best friend looked like she was about to be knocked out. "It's okay Mir, I'm okay. You don't need to worry about me." replied Remi.
Always, always that sentence was heard by Mira when Remi was asked. Even though Remi had just worked at Raxells Company, they had known each other since they were little because they were neighbors. They were very close even though their ages were 3 years apart. So Mira already knew the ins and outs of Remi.
Mira knew that Remi's family was on the verge of destruction. She was also worried about how Remi would feel when all that happened.
Remi's POV
'Sorry Mir, I don't want you to worry. Don't worry, maybe everything will be over soon. So you can relax.' I thought, then changed the subject, "Mir, let's go to Disney Land this Sunday! I need to refresh. I'll meet you at the entrance at 10, okay?". "Okay madam!" replied Mira while giving her thumbs up.
"I'm going to the toilet first, Mir." I said. Mira showed me her thumbs up as a sign that she agreed. When I got to the toilet, I looked at my face in the mirror. "My face is really bad. No wonder Mira looks so worried. Hey, wait. Speaking of faces. I didn't see anything wrong. Ren's face looked a little strange when he saw me. Oh, never mind. It's not anyone." I monologued in front of the mirror.
I went to make coffee in the canteen to get rid of my drowsiness. There I met Ren 'again'. Ren asked if I was okay, because my face looked tired. I answered "Safe. I'm fine. You don't need to worry." I replied with a little joke.
Author's POV
Remi and Ren immediately became the center of attention in the canteen. They whispered about the strangeness that was happening before their eyes. Because this was the first time they saw Ren greet someone first. And again, that someone was a woman. Ren was known as a cold CEO. Although he still answered when greeted, he never greeted first. And usually, Ren only spoke a few words. But this time it was Ren who started the conversation.
"My son wants to meet you again. Do you have time later?" Ren asked. In fact, it was just a trick so he could meet Remi again. "Eh? Mike wants to meet me? I'm so sorry, I have a night shift later. It's not that I don't want to. Tell Mike, okay?" Remi said feeling uncomfortable. "It's okay. I'll explain it to Mike later." Ren replied. Which Remi smiled in return.
Ren was actually curious about Remi's night shift she talked about, because the salary of employees at Raxellz Company was quite high. So, why did Remi have to have an extra job. Ren wanted to ask right now. But that would definitely make her uncomfortable.
'She looks tired. Will she be okay? Wait, there seems to be something strange about me. Why do I have such thoughts.' Ren thought, he wanted to knock his own head for having such strange thoughts. 'She's a stranger. We barely knows.'
"I'll go first. Bye, Ren!" Remi said and left. Remi went straight back to her desk, getting ready to give a report to her desk. Meanwhile, Ren, he went back to his room. With various thoughts bothering him.
One more thing. 'It seems like he doesn't know me? My position, I mean. Because he always talks to me casually, like a friend.' Not wanting to brag, it's just that usually most women talk to him only because of his position and wealth.
Remi is not a woman who likes to read gossip news. She prefers to watch her favorite anime. For her, it doesn't matter what their CEO looks like, it has nothing to do with her. 'Too far to reach.' if she said.
