Alan jolts up on his bed due to his alarm . He looks at the phone and it says 4 : 45 in the morning . He gets up lazily and brushes his teeth , and takes a cold shower to be alert . The cold water flows on his head and calms his quickening heartbeat .He puts a hand on his thumping heart and whispers to himself .
" I have to stay calm , this is my only shot .... I cant afford to mess it up . "
After ten minutes he gets dressed and goes to a nearby gym/dojo . He walks in through the door and a huge man walks up to him and pats his back . He was around 7 feet tall with a giant like physique .
"Hey Alan ! Today is the big day right ?! You have had a good breakfast right ?"
"Yes sir simmons . "
James Simmons was a retired member of the US Marines . He was a colleague of Alan's late father and had taken him under his wing when Alan was five . He trained Alan in five different martial arts , kungfu , taekwondo , brazillian jui justsu , kick boxing and muay thai . He knew Alan's parents possessed powers so he hoped that he would too, hence he trained his body to handle any sort of physical strain . He held Alan's shoulder and said in a soft tone
" Its a big day today Alan so don't exert yourself too much . Just the normal drills "
Alan nodded and went ahead with his routine of Hundred sit ups , hundred push ups , hundred pull ups and a five mile run on an incline treadmill.
After completing his morning ritual , Alan headed straight to the shower to cool off . He changed into a new gray track suit and black sweat pants . He looked at the mirror in the gym at his current state and thought to himself with a smile , " Damn , I look good today !"
"Alright Mr. Simmons , I heading to the USHDA . " Saying that Alan headed out of the gym called for a taxi . While sitting in the backseat he was re checking all the details of the Academy , seeing if he had not made any mistakes . After confirming he was well prepared he took a deep breathe to calm himself .
It was just as Mr. Simmons has said , it was truly a big day for him . The entrance Exam of USHDA would decide how he would rank in the society . He wished to get selected .............. No he needed to get selected . He reminisced about he hard he had prepared for this test and smiled about how many times he had dreamed of giving this exam and enter the prestigious Academy .
As he was lost in his own thoughts , the enormous campus of USHDA came into his view . It was a huge marble structure with a spiral dome which threatened to to touch the clouds . The huge metallic gates came into view and he could see the already long que formed there various children and some parents had come to support their child mentally . Alan looked at this sight of parents comforting their agitated sons and daughters and a pang of sadness hit him . Being an orphan , he never experienced such joys .
He clicked his tongue and showed his test id to the guard. The guard scanned it through his system and let him go to waiting area . He quietly went to a corner , put on his wireless earbuds and listened to some music to pass some time . He observed his surroundings and found some strong people . " Hmmm, there are some people who could give me trouble , but i will handle them " , Alan thought to himself .
A female Hero showed up to greet the students . She had almond hair cascading down her back and had a sapphire outfit like a robe which fit some areas tightly . Most male students were busy ogling at the instructor while the few sensible ones recognized the lady .
Some one from the crowd shouted , " Hey, look its Sapphire Sorcerer !"
The Lady smiled at being recognized and greeted the people present there .
" Hello aspiring heroes ! Welcome to United States Hero Development Academy . Today a select few of you may have a chance to enter this Academy and learn from the best heroes and perhaps excell on your own . So without any further Hinderance lets head for the entrance examination . "
Sapphire Sorcerer lead the participants into the Academy and repeated the instructions of the exam . The massive gates of the Academy opened leading them into a huge hallway at the end of which was a large hall .
While walking , Sapphire Sorcerer repeated examination details . " The entrance exam has two parts . First part is the written part which has varying questions from mental aptitude to ethics. The second part is concerned with your powers and abilities . Average of both the tests will be taken . "
Taking out a small bag , She says , " Please submit your mobile phones and any other electronic gadgets . " Everyone complies and puts their phones and other accessories into the bag . She then leads them into the hall and goes on a podium takes the mic .
" Good luck aspiring heroes . The first phase of entrance examination will commence shortly ."
