Logan sneered at his council members as anger flashed through him, they were once again speculating about his heir, how to go about getting his heir and they were now bantering at each other of whose daughter deserved to be his queen.
"Silence" he barked out with anger and the whole place went hush immediately as they all fell to their knees and he stood up to his full height.
"You've got some nerve to think I will marry and give an heir to any of your daughters."
"Bu-"
"Zena take care of this fool" Zena immediately took out an iron whip and it flashed through the air for a minute before a cry rang out and the elder fell to his face with pain etched into his features and gasps filled my ears.
"You seem to have forgotten who you are speaking to Elder Douglas. Throw him in the dark room for the night. Dismissed" My knights came forward and dragged his shocked self away and everyone fled my throne room without looking back or wasting another minute.
"I ordered you to take care of the prisoner, how did it go?" I questioned Zedner and he gave me a short bow before he began to speak.
"He refuses to confess but Jacqueline accessed his memories and found out he was hired through a Raven" my brows furrowed in question.
"What do you mean a raven?" I asked, taking my seat immediately.
"A raven was sent to him with a message to spy on the recent developments of the Shadow City and report back through the same raven" I hummed slowly, ravens were unprecedented and quite a new one. They were hard to trace but I smirked, I would find and destroy these threats to my realm one way or another.
"Dismissed" I ordered and they all left, they were my best friends but they knew when they shouldn't try to be familiar with me and now was one of those times.
"I heard from the others that the Wraith helped birth some dragon eggs" Sage said lazily into my mind and my brows furrowed once again.
"What do you mean the Wraith helped deliver dragon eggs?" I asked, although I held some deep feelings for this new woman, I couldn't act on them until I knew who she was and if she would be a threat to my realm.
I, as a king cannot afford to make mistakes or my subjects would pay for those mistakes.
"Exactly as I told you, did the elders drive your thoughts to insanity? Can't even understand what I'm saying" she snipped at me and I groaned with annoyance, even my dragon was hell bent on annoying the hell of of me.
"Get ready, I need to see her" Excitement immediately filled me up and I smirked as I stood up from my throne and began for the door.
"Someone's now in a good mood" I teased as I approached the large landing space beside my throne room and watched Sage land fluidly before I got on and she flew off.
"I am not" she quipped and I forced in a laugh as she flew hard and faster than ever and soon we found her and her wraith seamlessly taking the skies.
The other dragons all have her a wide berth and I could feel their fear and apprehension but she merely laughed when she saw it which was strange to me though.
"You seem to be enjoying the ride" He spoke up as Sage slowly got line in line with the Wraith without any fear.
Born of a royal bloodline, he could understand and he knew the depth of her power was a tiny bit on par with that of the Wraith's.
"Of course I am, it's a first for me anyway" she replied smartly and glanced forward as they steadily approached the castle.
"What did you do this time?" He questioned lightly as the beasts circled the caves carefully before descending. They must have turned it into a contest from the way their slitter eyes danced with excitement and she laughed when she noticed.
"I didn't do anything, ask you soon to be Queen " she made air quotes after they both landed easily which was quite a surprise for a beats that had never been on the sky since birth.
"Queen?" He was confused, he had never proclaimed anyone or woman as his fiancee or his queen to be so what exactly was this and whom was it.
"Don't play that dumb card with me" she snapped as she raised her head up with her thumb pinching below her nose and he stared at her in question.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he left his dragon and came down to solid ground to come stand beside her.
"Stopping myself from puking, smartass" She snapped and he couldn't help but chuckle, he seemed to have met his match.
"King Logan" filled His ears and he didn't have to turn to know whom it was.
"What is it, Jacqueline?" He question, his voice cold and detached as should be.
"Princess Tatiana Douglas caused a scene and she almost executed our young guest" she reported and he smirked at the red faced Aleirraki.
"Is this true?" He questioned and turned towards arch the woman nod before her eyes found that of Aleirraki and she gasped.
"I didn't know you were here, Miss" She immediately apologized and Aleirraki waved her away.
"Tatiana Douglas will be punished for her crime, thirty board caning and she will be engaged to one of the City's Lord. Pass down this order and anyone who dared to resist or refuse is to be killed on sight" After all this, Aleirraki never batted an eye and she merely sighed before she walked past him and began for the castle double huge doors.
A sound had them glancing back to find Sage and Cerberus circling each other and his eyes widened with shock.
"What's going on?" Aleirraki asked with her gaze never once leaving the two dragons.
"It's a duel to mate" he responded, eyes still glued on the two beasts.
"And that is...?" She fired out again, voice turning snippy at his withholding of information and he smirked.
"Sage challenged Cerberus to mate with her, he seems to refute it at the moment and they will battle. If Cerberus wins then they won't mate until he wants to but if she wins they would mate" He explained and watched her face twist into disgust.
"Gross, when would that be and we can watch right?" She asked with an odd excitement glinting in her unnatural eyes and he gave her a once over.
"Of course, it's beginning this very moment" No sooner had he finished his sentence, the two beasts flew into the sky, wings snapping as the grasped at each other.
They engaged in a deadly dance of claws and sharp fangs and he sighed as he watched, eager to know the results. This would also tell him if how much power the wraith possessed and how he could be able to make up for it.
He glanced at the woman beside him to find her focused on the battle, from that angle he found her to be more beautiful and gorgeous than he had ever seen in his realm.
He snapped out of his reverie as a howl of pain and defeat ripples through the air and glanced upwards to find a scene that left him speechless.
