Chapter 1 - Prolog

"She's over twenty years younger than you! She's only after your money! I told you from the start, but you were too deaf to hear me! And now look—everything's ruined! The business is bankrupt, your reputation is destroyed, your dignity torn to shreds… and all you can do now is apologize?"

"Please, honey... I'm begging you..."

"Irish wanted to be a doctor! That dream should've been easy for us to make come true! But because of your stupidity, our daughter's future is gone too! Damn it!"

The voices echoed, sharp like blades slicing through old wounds that had never fully healed. It was the last fight Irish ever heard from her parents before they disappeared… forever.

Irish woke up trembling, cold sweat soaking the back of her neck. Her breath was ragged, her eyes darted wildly, searching for reality. That nightmare came back again, haunting her for what felt like the thousandth time.

It all started with one woman. A young college student with an innocent face and a smile full of deceit. She managed to steal her father's heart, worm her way into their family, and turn all their peace into chaos.

She didn't just take their wealth. She took their sanity. She drained them dry until all that was left were anger, disgrace, and a mountain of debt.

Pressure after pressure closed in. Threats from loan sharks, scorn from relatives, and the whispers of neighbors slowly shredded her parents' sanity.

Until one day... they gave up.

That night, after a big argument, the house felt unusually quiet. No broken plates, no shouting. Just an eerie silence. Like a storm had passed and left behind something unsettling in its stillness.

Her mother cooked dinner. The table was set neatly with Irish's favorite dishes.Warm corn soup, sweet soy chicken, and jasmine tea that carried a calming aroma.Irish felt relieved. Maybe things were finally getting better, she thought naively.

Her father handed her a plate with a bittersweet smile.

"Forgive us, sweetheart."

Irish frowned but obeyed. She was only 13 back then, too young to recognize the scent of despair behind forced smiles.

She thought her parents had made peace. She even smiled a little, believing things would go back to how they were.

But after the third bite, her head began to feel heavy. Her vision blurred. And just before she lost consciousness, she saw her parents holding hands. They were smiling. But it wasn't a happy smile. It was a goodbye smile. Broken and full of sorrow.

They had poisoned the food. A final decision made by two parents too tired to keep going.

They chose to die together. But God didn't let Irish join them. She was found the next morning by a neighbor who grew suspicious when the house stayed dark, silent, and still. Her body was weak, but her soul began to harden from that day forward. The moment she found out the true root of the tragedy.

That woman. The destroyer. Now she lived comfortably in luxury. Married to a young billionaire, adored by the media as a socialite and philanthropist. Her name and face were everywhere. Her smile shone as if she had never left blood in her wake.

But Irish hadn't forgotten.

She kept the hatred. Let it grow over time. Let it harden with her wounds.

Now Irish was 24—the same age that woman was when she tore her family apart. And she was ready.

"You destroyed my family at 24. Now, at 24, I'll destroy yours. Your family, your wealth, your reputation. I'll take it all. I want you to know exactly what it feels like to lose everything."
