Chapter 2 - Lucien

Lana immediately stopped dead in her tracks and looked up at the man in front of her. She could finally see his full form and by God he was a fine man.

His face was the perfect definition of perfection, the type of handsomeness one would liken to the face of seduction, his eyes were the perfect shade of green, if you looked close enough it would seem as though his eyes were sparkling.

His jawline could cut through her most unholy pleasures and she wouldn't complain, his lips were full and you could easily tell why.

He stood there staring down at her and for a moment Lana wanted to sprint through the door but she was caught in between the fear of who this man was and the possibility that he could make her easily lose her job. She wasn't sure which one scared her most, the former or the latter.

"Where do you think you're going, Miss?" Lana panicked, the man in front of her wasn't just anyone, he was Lucien Crane, the billionaire playboy of Newton City. Lana found herself at loss for words.

"It was a mistake, I'm really sorry, please I do not want to lose my job, I have to take care of my mom or else I'm going to lose her." Something about him was so intimidating she almost passed out from fear but in everything she said, he stood there unphased and nonchalant.

"I really couldn't care less about your job, I simply wanted to know what you were doing back there but from the expression on your face and your hurried movements, I can tell you were rushing off so you could avoid me, isn't that right Lana Hart?"

How did he know her name? Of course he did, he's THE LUCIEN CRANE, there was absolutely nothing he couldn't find out if he wanted to but how did he do it so fast?

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news Lana but I tailed you right from the moment you thought you were going to escape.

I watched you run into the kitchen and out, then you were headed for the register guy so you could sign out and leave not so? Ask me how I know" he said the last statement with an evil smirk on his face. Lana wasn't sure if she should respond and people had started to look at them.

"We could talk about this somewhere more private, please." She begged him, tears almost streaming down her face but he seemed unphased by her plea.

"Since we are talking about privacy, if you mean the restroom you were peeking at me from then you might be onto something."

Lana didn't need an interpreter to tell her what he meant but she was going to settle for it nonetheless, as long as her boss wasn't going to overhear their conversation or find out that she was peeking at a customer during his private moment.

Without a word, she turned and started walking towards the vip restroom when she felt strong hands grab her, it was Lucien.

He held her and turned towards the exit door instead of the vip restroom, Lana's heart started pounding fast but at least she was out of there and she wouldn't have to worry about her boss getting a whiff of what happened.

Now they were out of the restaurant, she had new things to worry about. Where was he taking her? What was his plan? Why is Lucien Crane the famous City billionaire holding the hands of a mere bar worker and exiting a popular restaurant? So many thoughts, so many questions all at once she barely had time to process anything.

He finally stopped, and turned to face her.

"I'm guessing this is a more polite environment for you, Miss stalker?" He seemed amused rather than offended and Lana didn't know what to make of that.

"I'm so sorry that I barged in on you, it wasn't my intention and I know that I could get into trouble for that but I promise it was a silly mistake." His face didn't seem amused anymore, rather he looked at her the way one would look at a puzzle.

"Mistake? What do you mean by a mistake?" He walked closer to her and stopped when their faces were only two inches apart.

"I saw you Lana, I saw you when you walked in, and I saw you when you were trying to decide if it would be a good idea to peep, I saw you when you opened the door, I saw everything Lana so what do you mean by it was a mistake?"

It was at that moment she realized how messed up the situation was. How did he know? How and when did he see her? Fuck, things were getting more complicated.

"Cat got your tongue? You certainly didn't look like you wanted to leave the room and if I remember correctly, you stood there for a good 10 minutes," he said, glancing at his watch and then looking back at her face.

"I'm so sorry Sir, I truly am, I can't lose my job right now, I have a lot of responsibilities that I must take care of and if I lose my job, I don't know what I am going to do. My sincerest apologies, please."

He just stood there looking at her, and though it wasn't in a way that necessarily would make her skin jump, she was scared.

"You keep mentioning your job, what does that have to do with me? I thought you didn't want any attention so I brought you out here which is still risky because at any moment now, the paparazzi would be here, I'd have taken you to my car but you already think I'm a creep so that's out of the question."

What was he proposing? Lana looked at him, unable to find her words still and you could tell that Lucien was losing his patience. She finally tried to say something, "….. I thought you were going to make my manager fire me, so I got scared, I'll make it up to you anyhow I can."

Lucien's expression changed into a mischievous smile but Lana was too innocent to catch it. "Go out with me, Miss Lana Hart, this weekend."

"I'm sorry, what?" His smile deepened, "You mentioned you'd like to make it up to me and here I am giving you the chance to, all you have to do is go out with me until I'm satisfied."

His smile disappeared and this time, she knew he was no longer playing games. What had she gotten herself into?
