Chapter 2 - Fucking High School

Aramis' POV

"Aramis!"

I ignored the stares, and loud shrieks as I walked into the party.

"Lucien!"

Lucien winked at the girls around us, and blew a kiss. I rolled my eyes when a few of them fainted at the sight. It was always the same reaction. I was bored.

"I can hear your eyes rolling, Aramis," Lucien said.

I turned to him, my brows arching. "Can you, now?"

"Oh, come on," he said, draping his arms around me. "Look around."

I sighed.

"There are countless girls and boys around," he said.

He inched closer to me. "You know what that means?"

I paused. "Pray tell."

"It means, my dear friend, we are about to have fun!" he yelled in my ear.

'Ugh, turn him off,' Ice, my wolf drawled.

"I'd rather be learning more spells than being here," Rhys said.

I paused, staring at him. His blue hair covered half of his face, hiding his eyes as he stared at the little book in his hands. It was his journal of sorts, and he didn't allow anyone near it.

He clutched the book tightly in his hand, as his gaze met mine. His eyes narrowed, as he stared at me, and I looked away quickly.

"Don't do that," I said.

"Do what?" he asked, his lips curling up in mock innocence.

"Stop reading my mind," I said.

He chuckled. "Oh, the things buried in that pretty little head of yours."

'I like him,' Ice said.

Of course, he did. Rhys was his favorite witch, and I was tired of hearing all about it.

'Jealous, are we?' Ice taunted.

'Shut up.'

Rhys chuckled, a knowing smile on his face. I hated the fact he could hear the conversation between Ice and me, and how I could never keep a secret from him.

"Do me next," Lucien said, and Rhys turned to him.

I paused, watching the exchange between them. Rhys' brows furrowed as he read Lucien's thoughts.

"Ugh," Rhys groaned, frowning.

Lucien burst out laughing. "Serves you right."

"Now, come on. Let's have fun tonight."

The music paused when we entered the house, as all the eyes turned on us. The slacked jaws, and awed expression never ceased to bore me.

Lucien draped his arm over me, and smiled. "I'll never stop enjoying this."

The crowd parted as we walked, like the red sea. Lucien kept throwing kisses into the air, while Rhys' eyes were fixed on his book.

Me?

All I wanted was to find a quiet place to sit, and text her. Ice growled lowly, but I ignored it. I neither had the time nor the energy to deal with him.

A girl latched on to me tightly, and I looked down at her. I took a big whiff and grimaced.

Witch.

"Hey, Aramis," she called.

I yanked my hand from hers immediately, a frown forming.

"Never touch me," I growled.

Lucien spared her a look. "Yeah, he doesn't like that."

Her face tinged with embarrassment as she walked away. Lucien rolled his eyes.

"She was just trying to be nice," he said.

"It's not what I came here," I mumbled.

His frown was quickly replaced by a smile when three girls walked over, grinning at him.

"Hey beautiful," he said flirtatiously.

"Lucien," they giggled.

I rolled my eyes and brought out my phone, turning the screen on. I scrolled through my unanswered chats, and settled on one.

Refreshed the page over and over, but there were still no new messages. She read my messages but had not replied. I clicked the text button.

'Hey,' I texted.

I paused, waiting for her to read it. I straightened when I saw she'd read the text, and waited. But the three dots didn't appear, and I frowned.

How dare she?

I clicked the text button again.

'I need to talk to you'.

I bit my lip anxiously as I waited. She read it.

My throat tightened, as the anger raced in my veins. I glanced at Rhys.

'You said she's coming.'

He flipped a page, eyes on the book. "She will."

Lucien paused. "What are you guys talking about?"

I ignored him, my fingers slid on the screen as I waited for the three dots to show up. I tapped my foot and bit my nail.

Still no response. But she read my text.

'Pathetic,' Ice said.

I let out a low growl at his jab.

I shut the screen and closed my eyes. My pulse raced as I thought of the different ways to deal with her. She was going to rue the day she met me.

I turned on the screen quickly.

Nothing.

My eyes met Rhys' and he looked away quickly.

'You caused this.' Ice yelled. 'She was never our mate!"

'Shut up,' I growled.

He was fighting for control as he tried to claw his way out.

'I'm not giving you control,' I said, jaw clenched.

'I'm not asking,' he sneered.

"Hey, hey," Rhys said gently, and held my hand.

At his touch, Ice let out a low whine and stopped fighting for control. I pushed Rhys' hand away and stood up.

"Don't ever do that," I warned.

He blinked. "I was just trying to help."

"What's going on?" Lucien asked.

I stared at Rhys, eyes blazing with anger. I hated when he used his power on me.

"I don't need your help," I seethed, and with that, turned and walked away.

"What's wrong with him?" I heard Lucien ask.

Rhys sighed. "Fucking Vie."

I walked up the stairs, brushing past several drunk people, as I looked for a bathroom. I opened a door, and paused when I saw a couple going at it.

The guy looked up at me, blinking rapidly.

"A-Aramis?" he stuttered.

He got off the girl quickly, and smiled anxiously.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"James," he said, walking closer to me.

The girl wrapped the bedsheets around her, as she stared at me, her face beet red. A fresh bite mark stood out on her neck---vampire.

"We-," he paused. "I sit behind you in chem."

I had no time to listen to him, nor was I in the mood.

"Get out."

He blinked. "W-what?"

I inched closer to him, staring him down. "Get. Out."

He grabbed his clothes quickly, as he ran out of the room. I turned to the girl.

"Me…too?" she asked.

I waited.

She scrambled off the bed immediately, the bedsheet draped around her as she reached for her bra.

She smiled awkwardly as she ran out of the room and I shut the door quickly, locking it behind me.

Fucking high school.

I unlocked my phone and refreshed our chat again.

Still no messages.

Fuck!
