CHAPTER 4
I demand an apology!" Emily shouts, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and fear. She glares at the tinted windows of the limousine, daring someone to emerge. "And I want compensation for this!" Emily continues, her voice rising in pitch. "I could have been seriously hurt! I'm calling the police if you don't come out here right now!" Emily pulls out her phone, her hands shaking as she dials 911. "I'm reporting a reckless driver," Emily announces, her voice loud and clear.
The tinted window of the limousine glides down silently, revealing a figure Emily never expected. A well-known billionaire, Mr. Sterling, the very man whose company had just dismissed her, steps out of the car. A disarming smile stretches across his face, but Emily detects a glint of something else in his eyes, something unsettling. "Well, well," Mr. Sterling says, his voice smooth and oily. "What do we have here? Seems I almost ran into a bit of trouble." His smile widens, a predatory look replacing the initial charm. "Lucky for you, I'm a forgiving man. And always looking for talent."
Emily takes a deep breath, realizing that arguing with Richard Sterling will likely be pointless. He's a man used to getting his way, and she's in no position to fight him. "This isn't worth it," Emily mutters to herself, trying to regain her composure. She turns to leave, her shoulders slumping slightly. "Just forget it," Emily says, her voice barely audible. "I have more important things to worry about than you." She starts to walk away, determined to put this encounter behind her.
Turning on her heel, she tries to walk away, her head held high despite the humiliation. "Hold on," Richard Sterling says, his voice surprisingly gentle. He steps in front of her, blocking her path. "I may have misjudged you," he admits, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. "I have a proposal for you, a rather…unconventional one." He pauses, a sly smile playing on his lips. "A contract, you might say. A very big contract."
