In the next few days, I went around each apartment and put everything I could use to separate backpacks and duffel bags.
I decided to put everything I couldn't carry in my room if I decide to come back. The maximum I'm willing to take is the backpack and one duffle bag anymore and I would have a hard time fighting. While I was putting my gear on, I heard gunshots.
" Looks like the main character is finally here " - I smile and take my backpack and one duffle bag with me before leaving.
While running out, I closed every door I could so that if I needed to come back, it wouldn't be overrun by walkers.
Exiting the building, I spot a couple of walkers in front of me, taking out my sword, I quickly cut their heads in half. After a couple more minutes, the gunshots stop.
He probably already got into the tank. I don't have much time, I need to get to the alleyway where he meets Glenn before this whole place gets overrun.
I run, avoiding the main streets where the majority of the walkers should be. While running, I hear shooting again, not too far away.
When I run out to the main road, I turn to the left and I see at least 50 walkers going straight to the sound of the gunshots.
" Shit, he's right in front of me I need to get past them to meet him " - A devil's smile appears on my face as I crouch down holding my sword.
I launch full speed ahead, and some try to turn around, but before they can even see me, their heads go flying. I ran past the small gaps they had left behind, rapidly killing what was right in front of me. One walker tried to grab me from my right while I was mid-swing to the one right in front of me.
My eyes narrow down, my vision grows sharper, and time feels like it's slowing down. I loosen the grip on my sword, my left hand going to the kunai I have on my leg. When the sword meets the walker's head, I let go, spinning around with my kunai in hand, slicing his face horizontally.
I complete the 360 spin, grabbing my sword from the still-falling walker's head.
I was running for my life, shooting the walkers that got too close. And I see a boy no older than 18 wearing some kind of strange gear running to me, slicing and killing everything that was right in front of him.
And then the impossible happened: a walker was about to get him. I tried to raise my gun and shoot the walker to help the kid somehow.
But before I could even process what happened, he killed both of them without even stopping. The first one didn't even have time to fall.
" COME HERE !! " - I yell, trying to get the kid's attention.
I heard someone yelling. I looked a bit to the side and saw Rick. Thank God I made it, I seriously didn't want to go to the woods searching for the camp.
I quickly ran to the alley where I see him waving.
When I got there, I saw Glenn waving and yelling at us.
" Come on, come on, faster!! " - Glenn was yelling and running to the ladder next to the wall.
He started climbing up first, and Rick was right behind him. Killing two more walkers, I started following them.
When we climbed up, they started catching their breath, and then Glenn spoke.
" Nice move there, Clint Eastwood, you're the new sheriff, come riding in to clean up the town. And you are one crazy kid instead of running away from the geeks, you just rush straight at them " - Glenn spoke while trying to catch his breath.
" Itachi Uchiha " - I look at him and say with my stoic face.
" Glenn, Glenn Rhee, and what about you cowboy, wanted more viewers for your riding competition by firing that gun here or what? " - He then looks at Rick.
" That wasn't my intention " - Rick says, still trying to catch his breath.
" Yeah whatever yeehaw, you're still a dumbass " - Glenn says
" Rick, Thanks " - Rick holds his hand for a handshake with Glenn.
" I don't want to ruin your moment, but I think we should get going " - I say while looking over the railing.
Then look at me before looking over the railing, and see a horde of walkers trying to climb up.
" Oh no " - Glenn says.
He then looks up the ladder leading to the roof. Before speaking
" On the bright side, it'll be the fall that kills us, I'm a glass-half kind of guy " he then starts climbing, and we follow closely behind.
So the plot is the same, nothing seems to change, and they even look like the actors. That's good, that means they should act the same as in the TV show.
When we get to on top of the roof, Rick turns to me and asks.
" Hey, Itachi was it? You okay there kid ? " - He asks with some clear concern in his voice.
" Yeah, thank you for helping me out there " - I say while slightly bowing my head.
" But what were you doing down there instead of running away? You ran straight to them " - Rick asks, a bit confused, Why would anyone do anything so dangerous.
" And what's with the getup? You're a samurai or something " - Glenn says while snickering silently.
" No , a ninja " - I say, shutting them both up real fast.
"Wait for real ? " - he turns around to fully face me, disbelief written on his face.
" Yes, it is a family tradition to start training their kids at the age of six " - I speak again in an even voice. It is better to tell them from the start what I'm capable of, so they will stop treating me like a clueless kid, and it could get more people to listen to me.
It would also help to cover why I'm so skilled with a blade.
They were shaken by what I said. Rick asks, unsettled by what he just heard.
"What were they even teaching you at such a young age ? " - Rick asks.
" Everything that you would need to kill someone " - I say.
"That's insa..ne " - Glen speaks stuttering a bit.
Good, I think they're buying it. It also helps that they saw me killing my trough walkers.
" But that's what helped me survive in this world " - I say, and I can see that Glenn was even a bit afraid of me now, which is not good if I want to integrate into their group.
Both of them were so caught up in their thoughts. Rick didn't even ask about who barricaded the alley or why Glen decided to risk himself to save him.
After a couple of seconds, they composed themself before Glenn took a radio and started speaking to it.
" I'm back, got guests, plus four geeks in the alley "
We walk down the staircase, and we can see 2 walkers turning to us.
Then behind them door swings open and 2 people run out carrying baseball bats with helmets and some type of protective gear on them.
I quickly take out two kunai and throw them at both the walkers before they can even take a swing.
All four of them just stopped in their tracks, frozen, not sure what had just happened. I slowly walk down the last couple of flights of the stairs before going to the walkers and retrieving my kunai.
I turn to Rick and Glen and ask.
"You're coming or what ? " - They shake off the shock, and all of us run inside.
Before Rick can even say anything, Andrea grabs him and pushes him against the wall, pulling her gun out.
" Sonfa bitch I should kill you " - Andrea says pointing the gun right at Rick's head.
" Just chill out Andrea, back off " - says Morales
" Come on, ease up " - Jacqui says to Andrea.
" We're dead because of these two stupid assholes " - She says while turning her head to me.
" I don't even have a gun, he's the one who has been shooting here " - I tell her calmly while leaning against the wall right next to Rick.
Sorry, Rick, I don't want them to think I'm an idiot.
She gives me one final look before turning back to Rick and pulling away from him, tears falling on her cheek.
" We're dead, all of us, because of you " - Andrea says while looking at Rick.
Rick looks around confused.
" I don't understand " - he says, confused.
I look at him
" With your shooting, you likely drew half the walkers in the city "
Morales takes his arm and drags him while speaking.
" Look, we came into the city to scavenge supplies, you know what the key to scavenging is? Surviving, you know, the key to surviving? Sneaking in and out, not shooting up the streets "
We came to the clothing store, and we looked at the glass doors. There, we saw dozens of walkers trying to break in.
I could kill them all if I tied the steel wire around the door frames; they would just cut themselves in half trying to get in. But if more start showing up, this place would get overrun. Better not risk it, and I'm not sure the others could survive or how good the wire would hold up.
T-dog walks up to Rick.
" Get the picture now, you just rang the dinner bell "
I look around, deciding to speak up.
" Look, everyone, let's just calm down. There are multiple ways we can get out of here. I was in Atlanta from the start of the pandemic, it's not the first time I'm in a situation like this " - I try to sound as convincing as possible.
They all turned to me, a bit of hope rekindling, but still skeptical of me. And then we hear the glass cracking, I turn around and see a walker holding a rock and slamming against the glass.
Holy shit, that's right, there were some special cases like these, where walkers would play dead or when Jenny tried to open the door by twisting the door knob.
Is it just the world following the story, or are there some walkers with some intelligence?
They all get scared and run a few steps back, and Andrea turns to Rick.
" The hell are you doing up there anyway? "
Rick looks back at her.
" Trying to flag the helicopter "
T-Dog speaks up
" Helicopter, man that's crap there's no damn helicopter "
Jacqui turns to Rick as well.
" You were chasing a hallucination, imagining things it happens "
Wait! Can it be the same one that the governor's men find? I should have paid more attention to the show.
Before Rick can respond, I chime in.
" No, there was one, that's how I found Rick and Glen, I was following its trail " - Well I'm 80% sure it should be the same one and not some hallucination.
Before we can continue talking about it. Morales Asks T-Dog
" Hey T-Dog, you tried that CB? Can you contact the others? "
Rick looks at both of them.
" Others, the refugee center? "
Jacqui looks at Rick
" Yeah, the refugee center, they got biscuits waiting in the oven for us "
T-dog speaks up
" We got no signal, maybe the roof "
And it should happen any second now...
[BANG]
And that's Merle Dixon for you, zero fucks given.
" Oh no, was that Dixon? " - Andrea says before quickly leaving the store.
We quickly follow her to the roof. Morales runs in first, shouting at Merle.
" Hey, Dixon are you crazy!? "
I know how this will play out, so let's just end it quickly. I could just kill him, but then they will have no reason to go back to the city to retrieve the guns.
I silently move behind him while he is arguing with T-dog. Getting behind him, I put a kunai against his throat.
" You move, you die, make a sound, and you die, if you understand, close your eyes " - I say it in the coldest tone I can.
