Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Adrian's POV

I am glad that despite everything, I could always count on Mason. I chose him to be my beta as soon as I took the position of the Alpha. He was not just my friend, he was like a brother to me. Growing up with me after his parents were killed by some rogue wolves.

"Did anyone see you?" I asked him, as soon as he entered my house.

"I am better than that." He smirked.

"I am talking about my father." I clarified, my expression stern.

"I couldn't smell him. Neither was he visible in my sight." He informed me.

"My Dad shouldn't be taken lightly, you know how dangerous he can be". I warned him.

"I am aware. I'm sorry, I'll be more careful." He simply stated, lowering his head.

"Fair enough, now get everyone back for the training. I am still not ready to go back yet." I informed him.

"You still want me to send notification for the bride search?" he asked. I nodded simply without saying a word. I needed to sell this ruse.

It's been two more days, and my frustration has increased exponentially. So, to deal with my frustration, I decided to go for a run. I knew I sent that T-shirt as a joke, but that still didn't satisfy my need to be around him. A part of me just wanted to murder dad and go ahead and claim my mate. But I knew it wasn't possible, because I was aware of how strong he was.

Screeeech!

The noise of brakes hitting the tires rang in my ears, snapping me out of my zone. I noticed that I was at the outskirts of my own perimeter, and close to one the roads, passing through the woods. I turned around and noticed the car that had stopped on my arrival.

Honk! Honk!

The driver tried to get me to move. Suddenly I wanted to bite of that arrogant as****e's finger. I snarled, holding back a growl until the faint but familiar scent of Lavender hit me. I raised myself and tried to catch a glimpse of who else was there in the car.

As an alpha my build was huge. Even as a wolf I was almost 6ft tall. No wonder the driver was losing his mind at my sight. I approached the car, head on. The driver stopped honking immediately.

Two women peeked from behind the seats, and I recognised one of them. It was Hannah. My blood boiled further. The scent of my mate was coming from none other than her. Which meant she was with him a while ago.

"Ahhh!" The girls screamed as I leaped towards the car, jumping right at the car. I landed mere inches before the car. I saw them panic and try to get out of the car, but the doors were locked. I growled at them but held myself back, I looked directly at Hannah's terrified eyes before turning around and disappearing into the forest.

Yes, I wanted to kill her. Remove the obstacle completely. After all, she was committing a major crime, sleeping with someone else's mate. My mate! Amongst werewolves, this crime was punishable by death.

But I knew if I made a move now, I'd screw everything up. I needed to come up with a better plan.

"Mason, find me everything you have on Kyle and Hannah Graham." I ordered him as soon as I spotted him.

"Okay… " he looked skeptical. "I have news for you as well." He added. I raised my eyebrows. "The Alpha of Frostpine pack has contacted you for one of their eligible members for mating."

For a split moment, my eyes widened. Already? How can someone really be interested in our pack? I wondered. I couldn't help but feel like there was a ulterior motive, but I managed to keep my composure nonetheless and ask, "And what do we know about her?"

"She is the beta of Frostpine pac, Vera Frost". Mason informed me. "Technically she is the youngest daughter of the Alpha."

"So they want an alliance?" I smirked. Seems plausible, definitely something I would do to increase my strength. I have heard of this Frostpine pack before. They weren't as inherently powerful as we were once which is why they lived far up north, away from most werewolf territories.

But since our massacre, even they could outnumber us. Still two weak links don't make a strong one. Besides, all I want is Kyle anyways.

"Should I set it up?" Mason asked. "A meeting."

"What's the rush?" I asked him.

"They are expecting some sort of response. Alphas can be impatient at times, and this is his daughter," Mason clarified. I glared at him, for his comment about alphas. He looked away after a few seconds.

"Fine, let's have a meeting. But not here, this place is a mess." I informed him.

"I couldn't agree more" a wicked smirk crept up his mouth, "In fact I have a perfect recommendation for a spot for you". Mason said.

"What do you mean?" Why was he suddenly acting so suspicious?

He took out his phone and scrolled something before handing it over to me. "It's like 10 miles away, so no immediate harm to our pack. It's a human setting, so I know even things cannot get too much out of hand." His smirk deepened. "It also happens to be the biggest outlet of GG Inc."

He wore a strange, satisfied expression—like a man who'd just guessed all the winning lottery numbers, certain that every piece of his chaotic plan had finally fallen into place. I still couldn't figure out what he was leading up to so I raised an eyebrow at him.

He shook his head lightly for a brief second, careful not to come off as condescending, "GG Inc stands for Graham Gourmet Incorporated." He smiled. "Which is owned by Kyle Graham."

My eyes widened at that. So this was what he did? He was actually rich? Suddenly his apartment and the way everything was so well maintained and how he worked around his own kitchen made sense. So he was a gourmet chef. It was hard not to feel impressed, traditionally omegas weren't this resourceful.

I wrestled the smile before it gave me away. "How do you know so much about him?". He was my mate and I didn't even know much about him. Not to mention, I asked him for Kyle's background information just a while ago.

He let out an exasperated sigh, "When you asked me to deliver the stuff, you didn't give me much information. So I had to do some digging to figure out where he lived and all that." He added. Mason was indeed quite smart, it's a good thing he was my beta.

"Will Kyle be there?" I asked bluntly.

"He is there every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday." Mason informed me.

"Set it up. For this Thursday." I ordered him.
