Chapter 2 - Sevenfold Hunger

A long, cold silence followed as Light raised his hand and pointed—straight at Greed.

The figure grinned. Then laughed.

Not a casual laugh, but one that echoed through the air like thunder trapped in a bottle. It was sharp, triumphant, manic.

"HAHAHA!" Greed roared, throwing his head back. "The kid picked me! Oh, lucky motherfucker!"

The other six figures turned their heads slowly, eyes narrowing, expressions unreadable.

Lust scoffed. "Tch. Figures."

Wrath crossed her arms. "Lucky bastard."

Sloth muttered with a smirk, "Well… guess I get to sleep a little longer."

They didn't hide their irritation. But Greed was too euphoric to care. He strutted toward Light, clapping his hands together with boyish glee.

"Congratulations," he said, reaching into the folds of his coat. "You've just made the best investment of your pathetic little life."

From his coat pocket, he pulled out a gleaming, ornate golden wallet—engraved with swirling, demonic sigils that shimmered faintly under the moonlight.

"This," Greed said, placing it gently into Light's hands, "is the Wallet of Greed. And this... is your new beginning."

He tapped the wallet once.

"There's a card inside. Everything you need to know is written there."

Light held it gingerly. The wallet was warm—unnaturally warm, like something alive. He hadn't even opened it yet, but something about it made his pulse quicken.

But before he could speak, Greed suddenly jerked.

His grin twitched. His eyes rolled. He stumbled backward.

"Wait—what... what the hell—?"

His fingers began twisting unnaturally. His wrists bent backward. His legs snapped at the knees, spiraling in the wrong direction. His mouth opened in silent confusion as his entire body cracked and folded, like paper caught in a storm.

Light stepped back in horror.

"Are you okay!?"

Greed's body convulsed once—then twice—before collapsing into itself, folding into a tight spiral of limbs and bones. His form began to shrink, compressing rapidly into a black, smooth orb the size of a fist.

Before the orb vanished into the darkness, Greed's voice—panicked and broken—escaped one last time:

> "This... shouldn't be possible...!"

He was gone.

The six remaining Sins stared in stunned silence.

Their eyes turned—not toward Greed's vanished body, but toward Light.

Something had changed.

Something was wrong.

Envy was the first to speak—his voice trembling.

> "How the hell... do you have more than one Karma Point?"

Light blinked.

> More than one?

A slow, electric realization rolled over him like a stormcloud.

He looked down at the wallet in his hand.

If Greed disappeared after giving it... does that mean...?

A silence hung thick in the air.

And then Light smiled.

Just a little.

Just enough.

He raised his eyes and said, coolly, "If I have more than one… then I choose all of you."

The words hit like thunder.

Sloth stepped back, horrified. Gluttony turned to run, but stumbled.

"No—wait—!" Lust cried.

One tried to vanish. Another tried to leap. But none got far.

As if caught by invisible chains, all six of them froze mid-motion—paralyzed. Eyes wide. Jaws slack.

Their limbs began to twist. Their bones cracked. Their bodies shook violently.

Just like Greed.

From their robes, pockets, sleeves—six new items flew into the air, glowing faintly, carried by some unseen force. Each hovered before Light, one by one, as if bowing before their new master.

And just like before—one by one—the Sins collapsed into small black spheres, each drawn into their respective items. As Light reached out to touch each object, the orb spiraled inward and vanished inside the artifact like ink sinking into water.

Before vanishing, he heard their final words:

> "No one in history has had more than two..."

"He cheated death..."

"This can't be happening..."

"What the f—"

Gone.

Each orb disappeared with a whisper.

And then—

Time resumed.

Leaves rustled once more. The wind howled again. The stars blinked. Clouds rolled quietly across the sky. As if the world itself had finally started breathing again.

Light stood alone in the middle of the road, surrounded by seven ancient artifacts glowing softly at his feet.

He stared down at them, eyes wide with awe, heart thundering.

Spectacles of Envy.

Ring of Pride.
