He whispered against Jessica's neck, "Mmm... this appears to be a very successful approach for calming you down Miss. Madison."
Her head was foggy, inundated with images of him.
He said, "I wish it could stay longer, but I have to bring you back home."
Suddenly he chomped on her neck once more, the pain burst in her neck. Jessica let out a loud moan as she felt the darkness close in on her once more. He hauled her up in his embrace after releasing her arms. Jessica collapsed against his chest, remarking on how warm he was against her.
He whispered in Jessica's ear, 'I love you Jessica Madison,' before she went out.
When Jessica's alarm went off next to her ear, she was sound asleep. Angry electronic sirens blasted her fragile eardrums, so she hurriedly untangled herself from her comforter and smashed the snooze button. Jessica slid over in bed, her quilt snugly wrapped around her. Last night's fuzzy memories seeped into her memory, becoming uncomfortably sharper as time went on. Jessica was reminded of him, her husband.
Jessica became irritated as she sat up in bed.
Jessica couldn't recall returning from the cemetery or removing Sarah's maxi dress. Jessica has no recollection of getting into bed! She did, however, recall that voice... and those lips. Her heart was fluttering, something she didn't like.
Jessica tried to keep her composure by shaking her head. Her mind sought to make sense of the weird memories she'd had the night before. Maybe she'd had too much to drink, maybe she'd been drugged, maybe she'd banged her head on the way home from the party, perhaps this was the beginning of a mental breakdown.
Sighing Jessica leaned against her pillows, longing for an explanation for what had. transpired the night before. Jessica knew that a variety of chemicals, including stress, might cause a person to see things, but she knew deep down that the man from last night was real, despite her head telling her otherwise. Is it possible for a vampire to exist? Jessica pondered.
Her interest was piqued. Jessica pondered if she really wanted her mysterious vampire to be real or not as she gazed up at the ceiling. If he's genuine, he converted her into a vampire last night when he bit her. So, if she were a vampire, she would supposedly burn in the sun, quiver at the sight of a cross, and be horrified by the scent of garlic.
This provided Jessica with some investigative options. So she jumped out of bed and prepared for the first test to see if Jess was a vampire.
Jessica stepped over to her closed drapes and slid them open just a crack, allowing only a sliver of light into her room. A sliver of sunlight streamed into her room through the drapes. I lifted my hand and cautiously passed her palm through the ray of light while standing in the shadows of the room... and nothing occurred. Her hand smoothly waved through the light with no issues.
Jessica collapsed into her bed, puzzled as to what was happening with her.
Jessica whispered to herself, "I'm losing my mind."
'Jessica...'
"What the hell is going on?" Jessica stated this while sitting up. Suddenly, a panicked banging could be heard on her dorm room door. Sarah Turner screamed at the top of her lungs, "Madison, it's me! Are in there!?"
Sarah was still dressed up for Halloween when Jessica opened the door. Sarah smelled like smokes, liquor, vomit, and sweat, and Jessica understands how bad that sounds. Jessica took a step back into her bedroom as her stomach churned.
Sarah sobbed uncontrollably "You scumbag! Did you find that amusing? I had the entire football team looking for you in that cemetery!" She screamed angrily at Jessica.
"Sarah, what the fuck are you talking about?" Jessica responded.
"Right after the church bells tolled midnight, the guys monitoring the cemetery gates heard you screaming. They thought you were murdered or something!" Sarah sobbed "I thought you'd been murdered!"
Jessica was taken aback when she saw Sarah was sincerely upset; she didn't think Sarah was capable of such sincerity.
Sarah screamed, "Where the hell did you go Madison?"
"I'm not sure?" Jessica answered truthfully.
Jessica was completely unaware of what had happened to her the night before. Jessica's only memories of last night were of being converted into a vampire, and she didn't know where to begin to explain that to Sarah. Oh, and Sarah, it turns out the Dark Prince is real, and he showed up last night and compelled her to marry him in a strange ceremony with a zombie bishop.
"Madison, I despise you. I used to feel sorry for you because you were the nerd no one liked, but now I fucking despise you "Sarah stormed down the corridor, spitting.
Sarah left her dorm, slamming the door fiercely shut behind her, while Jessica stood in the doorway, watching her. Jessica returned to her room and closed the door behind her. What happened to her the night before? Was she a vampire, perhaps? Jessica had completed the light test, but what about crucifixes and garlic?
Jessica dashed straight to her desk, where she kept her jewelry box. Jessica took a silver crucifix from the box that her Aunt had given her for her 18th birthday. Jessica gazed at the cross, expecting to be overcome by some horrible sensation that would cause her to flee, but she felt nothing.
Jessica then exited her dorm room and entered the community kitchen. Jessica knew they didn't have any garlic bulbs in the kitchen, but they did have lots of garlic bread. Jessica took a frozen garlic bread stick out of the freezer and popped it into the microwave. She took a bite of the bread after it was baked in the microwave.
Jessica thought to herself, 'It tasted fantastic.'
Jessica slumped against the kitchen counter, groaning.
So far, all of her inquiries have revealed that she is not a vampire. Jessica assumed that this meant that the insane Victorian sociologists had finally caught up with her after all these years. Jessica had reached breaking point because of their convoluted thoughts and illegible handwriting. Jessica had a nervous breakdown and was dreaming of attractive vampires.
Jessica ate the last of the garlic bread and determined that she needed to go to her lessons even if she was going insane. Jessica returned to her dorm room thirsty, pouring herself a glass of water Jessica's door opened as she walked past her neighbor's room. Jessica was assaulted by a scent she had never experienced before.
"Thank God you're up, Jessica," her friend Alison murmured as she clutched her hand. "I cut myself on my craft blade." She stated her case.
Jessica throat felt as if it were on fire. Jessica watched the scarlet liquid leak through the white bandage Alison had tied over her damaged hand.
"The wound isn't that deep," Alison stated, "but I need some gauze from the kitchen and I don't want to risk bleeding all over the carpet."
"Sure, I can get you some gauze," Jessica said numbly.
"Thank you, Jess; you're a rock star!" Alison made a chirping sound.
Jessica quickly turned around and dashed back to the kitchen, where she retrieved the first aid kit from the cupboard beneath the sink. Jessica was trying to concentrate on Alison and her injury, but her throat was becoming increasingly dry, and her jaw was beginning to hurt. Jessica returned up the corridor and delivered the first aid kit to Alison.
"Thanks, Jess," Alison said, smiling. "By the way, I really like your teeth; they look so natural." "What," Jessica said, her throat clearing up.
Before closing the door, Alison exclaimed, "The fangs- they're awesome."
"No, no, no..." Jessica shook her head.
Jessica dashed back down the corridor and into her door room's bathroom. Jessica turned on the light and looked in the bathroom mirror at herself. She discovered two sharp fangs where her canine teeth used to be, much to my horror.
"No, it wasn't genuine last night. I'm not a vampire, believe it or not "Jessica expressed herself in her reflection.
Then she heard his voice in her mind.
'At long last, you're awake.'
