Synopsis
An ordinary university graduate got himself transmigrated to a fantasy world based on a soulless cash grab of a gacha game. Lloyd, his new identity, chose to stay away from the main plot by acting as a background character, hoping he could enjoy the fun of the magical academy. But like all fantasy isekai academy stories, things are never going in our protagonist's ways.

Chapter 1 - Prologue: Isekai...

I wonder how things ended up like this.

I was pretty sure that I was celebrating my graduation along with my family in a restaurant, drinking as much as possible while eating so much food that my stomach would burst like a balloon, all of the pains and struggles I had to endure during college were washed away before we all decided to go back home.

Oh, right... Dad was drunk too, and he was driving...

The last thing I saw was a flash of light before everything shook.

Welp, whatever, that's just another trauma added to the pile inside of good old Sammy's messed-up head.

But something is wrong. Very, very wrong.

How in the world did dying make me turn into a hulking humanoid lizard!?!

That's what happens the moment I wake up, and somehow, in a forest. I was thirsty and all I could think of was to seek water before reality crashed into me like a truck claiming victims of isekai'd main characters.

The irony...

My reflection shows the face of a lizard you would expect to be drawn by a furry artist. Green scales covering my entire body from head to toe, a pair of horns on the back of my head, fangs protruding from my mouth, chipped nails at the end of my fingers and toes, a thick-ass tail with a sharp end.

I should've been freaking out right now, I mean why not!? I am an unknown creature that only exists in fiction, and I got stranded in the middle of nowhere! But that's not the problem right now.

The problem is I'm goddamn naked!

This does provide me with a better view of my currently familiar yet foreign body. I noticed there are blood stains all over my scales, scars all over my body, exposing the skin under all the scales, with one that concerns me the most, around my neck. Also, are those runes carved around my scales like some sort of tattoo?!

Okay, Sammy, now's not the time to focus on the cool-looking tattoos on my new scaly body. Right now, I need to focus on the current problem, the scars around my neck!

Did I get sent to a decapitated body, and it got reattached when I possess this body!?! I feel blood drained from my entire body just from imagining all of that.

If I am truly possessing a dead body, is there a possibility that I might possess the previous owner's memory? Well, the only way to find out is to dig deep into my mind.

Before I could even start, my stomach had another idea as it made a very loud noise. I'm so glad my face is now covered with scales to hide my blushing face.

Getting some food would be a good idea, but I did have to stop and think for a minute. Am I a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore? A lot of fantasy media depicted them as carnivores, but I can't say I could use the same logic for my current condition. I take another proper look at my reflection as I open my jaws, looking at my new fangs.

Geez, whoever used to have this body really should take good care of themselves! Why are they all chipped!?! And, oh my gods! The pain!

Yeah, I might need some soft foods for this. Maybe getting some fruits would be nice to treat my teeth.

Being too busy dealing with a mess of a body that I possessed, I had forgotten to consider one crucial thing.

Where the fuck am I!?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, after looking around the forest I was stuck in, I had yet to figure out where I was. But, good news, I got myself fruits that I hope aren't poisonous, because god help me I am completely fucked if it is.

Now, I wish I had read more on how to camp. But, then again, when do I expect to go out camping when no one in my family ever did it or even consider doing it? Or, somehow got isekai'd into another world right in the wilderness!?

After using the river to clean the fruit, I take a bite before letting out a sigh. The fruit is no doubt an apple, given how similar its shape and taste are. Honestly, I expect something else since I might get isekai'd to a fantasy world, especially when I'm stuck in the body of a lizardman.

Speaking of my body, I have finally found the memories of the previous owner. He (Thank whatever omniscient deity that sent my soul here) is Lloyd, a former slave, along with his lizardmen brethren who had recently escaped from captivity, but was killed by the slavers, who are human with their bodies covered with cloaks to hide their identity. He was killed through decapitation using a spinning blade of wind created with a glowing circle that emits from the slaver's hands.

If that isn't magic, I don't know what it is.

Lloyd overheard from the slavers that he, along with his fellow brethren, were going to be sold to a royal family as part of their army. The reason Lloyd is chosen is due to his knowledge and skills in magic, despite his family situation.

In this world, magic is the world's power system. The ability to control mana and manipulate it to fit the user's desire, either as spells or enhancements. Of course, this kind of information didn't help me figure out what world I got sent into, since a lot of fantasy worlds have similar power systems.

It didn't help that Lloyd didn't dive deeper into the realm of magic, so his knowledge is only based on what Lloyd knows about it, along with what he knows about this world. Speaking of this world, Lloyd had overheard that the royal family is from the Kingdom of φαντασία.

Wait, where did I ever hear that name from!?

Then, reality hit me like a speeding truck once again. φαντασία is a fantasy kingdom from a gacha game I recently played, the main location where all the story mode takes place! The game is called the Harem Fantasy (I am still questioning who the fuck come up with such atrocious name), the plot revolve around your character you played either as a boy or a girl, who enrolls to academy, breezing through challenge, getting the harems, and defeating villains in a typical Mary Sue fashion.

That may sound like a lazy explanation, but it's how I see it when I play through the story. The main character is a literal Mary Sue, the plot revolves around them, everyone who is on the good side likes him despite he/she has a personality of a flat board, all villains can't touch him/her even with any overpowered weapons, magic, or powers they possess, and he/she is just a passive character. Every event just happened, and the main character just somehow happens to be in the right place and the right time.

Another thing about the story is that whoever made it didn't know how to write a story, and it was so bad that a kindergarten could write better than they did! They just copy and paste the plot from chapter one to chapter 10, and it was so bad that I suspect they use AI to type it for them!

And don't get me started with the blatant racism the creator was, especially towards the non-human characters in the game. No villains in the story are human; all human characters despise the non-human characters without an ounce of shame, especially towards the characters that you'll find from furry fandom. It was obvious that the game creator hates that fandom.

...oh, no.

I'm in a world as a non-human character filled with racist humans capable of wielding magic. In simple terms, I got the worst luck in the isekai lottery!

Okay, Sammy, let's not think too much about the negative. Right now, I am in a world of magic, possessing a magical creature with the potential of learning magic and even some knowledge, which means I could learn it! That's gotta be good, right?

But, the problems are that I possess the body of a former decapitated slave, a royal family from the biggest kingdom of this world wants me, or specifically Lloyd, and there are several world-ending threats in the future.

... Please tell me whoever sent me here, give me some sort of cheat to help me survive.

"System!" I call in panic, wishing deep inside my mind that the magic holographic screen would appear and display my stats.

But reality is often disappointing. Not only did I not have one, but I figured it out by embarrassing myself. All I could think of was the ground opening up so I could crawl inside and die in there for the second time.

...Speaking of isekai, I can't help but wonder what happened to my family. I died in a car crash and am stuck in this body, which means there's a possibility that they're in a similar situation to me. I am officially joining the most unlucky isekai'd character list.

It's a cruel twist of irony. I had been away from them for so long since I was busy trying to graduate from university, and when I finally reunited with them, we died and got separated again. I had missed them for so long, and I was overjoyed that we got to be together again.

I try not to think too much, focusing on my current situation, my chance of survival, and what I should do in the future. But, with everything that happens, I can't focus and end up worrying about my family. Are they okay? Where are they now? Are they in a better situation than he is or worse? What if they aren't here? What if they went through the normal route of death, moving on to the afterlife? Does that mean I am alone in this world now?

God, I miss them so much. There's so much I wanted to do with them. I want to spend time with them on vacations, maybe family bonding activities, or just a normal conversation about...anything! So many things I have planned, but we never got the chance to do so.

Damn it...why does it have to be raining now?
